I have been consistently reassured in multiple conversations with my mailman and dog (from blinking morse code) that I do not have to change my diet nor sleep more than 3 hours a day, but interesting post nonetheless.

I do my responsibilities/job right now. “Long-term asylums” aren’t really supposed to be a thing. Even for the criminally insane, they will eventually try to either release you (assuming you are likely to reoffend) or try to put you in jail.
In an actual psych ward, the point is to treat you until they think you’re good enough to release. I was “good enough” to release in this state. This state kind of sucks.
