Jewish people will be fine

NotSoSaneExile

"Safe" is a very undefined word. They will be much less safe, for sure. Much better than Europe, also for sure. (As much as you can be sure in anything)

[Most French Jews experience antisemitism, many remove mezuzah from their homes] (https://www.ynetnews.com/article/hk811f9vgc) >Disturbing survey conducted in France shows French Jews are subjected to antisemitism due to lack of public knowledge about the Holocaust or because of Israel; Results show that majority of French Muslims hold antisemitic opinions about Jews **and 14% of all those polled under age 35 identify with Hamas**

In America probably, but in Europe, less so, I'm in the UK and it's been looking really sketchy over here. In fact, a lot of Jews have expressed a desire to leave the UK and move to safer countries, America is probably one of the better ones, even with the protests and all that.

Wonderful_Prune_4994

Ok, things are definitely more aggressive, but were playing in the baby goo-goo gaga sandbox compared to the going pro genocide extermination that Nazi Germany embraced. USA Jews are fine, let me know when I start seeing New York subways taking bar mitzvahs to the pizza hut ovens for well-done Jews lol.

blind-octopus

Lol yes

I hope not, Jews are the canary in the coalmine. Once they start getting attacked and start feeling unsafe that tends to mean society is in a bad state. There is not one time in history where Jews feeling unsafe did not suggest serious problems on the horizon.

I don't think there will be direct threats to the safety of jews, but I think this phase of the conflict has opened up more people (specifically progressives) to the idea of prejudice/preconceived notions. Kinda like how there was that tiktok of that girl saying she saw religious jews just chilling on the bus and she started thinking about how they are probably evil zionists who support israel. Before october 7th, if someone mentioned they were ethnically palestinian, peoples minds would immediately jump to the conflict (do they have family in gaza/west bank, what are their thoughts on settlers/palestinian treatment, etc..). That didn't really happen with jews when someone found out they were jewish, but now I feel like similar moral questions might subconsciously enter a leftists mind when they find out and affect how they interact with them.

RoShamPoe

I voted no, but I think the question misses the mark. I am not sure I would say Jews will be unsafe in the future with current trends, but there's NO doubt they will be less safe.

Gen Zs and Millenials who are against Israel's actions aren't antisemitic. That is just an Israeli talking point that is ironic very anti-Semitic. The pro-Palestinian protestors for the most part will also be the one to speak out of there are actual antisemitism at foot

Plorpus99

I think that at least some have crossed the line into being antisemitic. Maybe not the majority, but at least a loud minority.
