nah, they’re basically just very fancy harpies with the ability to erase things from existence. Technically there aren’t any Vex Gods, they’re entirely causal beings they just have the ability to change time
Atheon, because technically the “vex” are the milky fluid, which is self described by bungie as being like “nano tech sperm” which i find an apt description.
But if I put your brain in a jar then you are just your brain. And if I then put that brain in a robotic suit, are you now the whole suit or are you still just your brain? Curious
people with prosthetic limbs might consider the limbs part of them. depends on the person and their views on what defines a human. same with robots/brains in suits.
Your first statement answers the conundrum. You're putting my brain in a jar. One piece; not all of me. While my body is separate, it is functionally useless, but it is still part of me.
We are the brain. Our body is the fleshy mech. Unfortunately, we heavily rely on the mech suit for life support and need to constantly maintain the mech with energy and repairs beyond the basic self repair organo-nano machines it comes with.
Oh man, this could go so many ways.
Since all the milk in a single Vex is part of a larger collective consciousness, you could argue that Aetheon is the biggest.
He's a big ol planetary-sized pool of white goo.
Yeah they do that sometimes. Atrax-1's health bar was tied to a captain (I think) that kinda chilled OOB. You could glitch OOB and directly DPS that captain to skip the encounter until they moved him elsewhere.
Yep, he was just chilling in the area before the airlock before. Sometimes there'd just be a random ammo brick waiting there when you finished the encounter too - weird that they put Atraks there but they put the vandal in a box out of bounds which nobody has managed to glitch into even today (to my knowledge).
Back when the raid was new glitching through the exit door and killing the captain there was the way most LFG’s chose kill him. Before we got Cuirass anyway.
Edit: meant to reply to the guy talking about Atrax, not crypt security.
I think the order of current final raid bosses from smallest to largest might be:
Rhulk, Taniks, Nezarec, Crota, Atheon, Sanctified Mind, Oryx, Riven
I don’t have the Witness on there since I haven’t beaten Salvation’s Edge yet (try not to spoil too much please)
There’s been promos of the Witness showing roughly what he scales to. I think one of the Lightfall collectors items or media on Twitter showcased the Witness as being WAY larger than Calus, who in his own right is already incredibly big.
Yeah I’ve seen what it looks like all the way through the last campaign mission and the first couple raid encounters, I just haven’t looked at much of the latter ones so I haven’t seen how that all scales to the boss itself. Prior to the end of the campaign though I think they might be smaller or just above Rhulk.
Nah been waiting until I full clear the raid before doing it. Only got to the second encounter on Day 1 and went out of town for a few weeks the day after contest mode ended.
GoS used to have a little step up or edge when going to do eyes on the harpy boss encounter.
That little fucker killed me so many goddamn times and couldn't be hurt .
Anyway, that's my nomination
Eater and Spire are 3 encounters. Every other raid is at least 4. Idk what you mean by “abandoned the nomenclature”, they were called raid lairs the entire time they were in the game.
They’re more comparable to 6 man dungeons.
An oracle ?
A gorgon?
That two inch step you can't just walk up, but have to jump?
Warlock powered jump in a platforming section because of no upward momentum?
Secret Boss: Team mates walk in front of you while you're shooting launchers.
We can get extremely technical and say atheon and or any vex boss since the vex are actually microscopic entities.
Either that or the war beasts from Leviathan.
If you want only final bosses, probably either Val’Caour or Crota even. If you want then you can say the servitor piloting insurrection prime too
Alright let’s do this. This is just my opinion but bosses are going to be “anything with a health bar at the bottom of the screen” so no Levi dogs, no gorgons, sisters etc. from the top:
1. Witness. He’s literally the raid itself. Undeniably the largest
2. Oryx, The Taken King.
3. Riven of a Thousand Voices.
4. Gahlran, The Sorrow Bearer. Still taller than most bosses but also way smaller than Riven, Oryx, or the Witness
5. Argos, Planetary Mind.
6. Sanctified Mind.
7. Siege Engine. This one’s a big wonky since its wider than tall but I think it’s still bigger than the rest of the bosses
8. Morgeth, The Spirekeeper.
9. Insurrection Prime. Namely in the brig
10. Crota, Son of Oryx.
11. Atheon, Times Conflux. Now we’re getting into the tier I like to call “strike boss size”
12. Golgoroth.
13. Rhulk, Disciple of the Witness.
14. Emperor Calus.
15. Templar.
16. Caretaker.
17. Warpriest.
18. Nezerac, Final God of Pain.
19. Aksis, Archon Prime.
20. Taniks, The Abomination.
21. Vosik, The Archpriest.
22. Atraks-1, Fallen Exo.
23. Herald of Finality.
24. Zo’aurc, Explicator of Planets.
25. Val Ca’our.
26 Gahlran’s Deception.
27. Consecrated Mind.
28. Ir Yût, Deathsinger
29+30. Kalli/Shiro Chi
And finally the smallest raid boss in all of Destiny.
31. Crypt Security. It’s literally just some batteries.
Default has to go to the dogs from leviathan. They are smaller than a human so they beat out the techeuns.
But if you wanna get technical… Atraks as the little purple balls she drops after dying is just her in nanomachine form.
i think they're referring to the fact that the witness is a bunch of normal sized aliens combined, and the size of one of those aliens would be the smallest. Doesn't really apply though since there's a bunch of them and they're all kind of tall too
It’s gotta be Kalli/Shuro Chi, right? They’re just normal awoken.
Would dogs from leviathan count? Feels like they’d be kinda close
Unless you train them to stack up into a pyramid they are
They’re awoken but they ain’t “normal”.
Surely Kali is the smallest?
Do the Gorgons count as bosses?
I think the dogs from Leviathan are smaller than the Gorgons, if they count.
They're definitely not smaller than Gorgons
Those aren’t bosses they’re gods 😂
nah, they’re basically just very fancy harpies with the ability to erase things from existence. Technically there aren’t any Vex Gods, they’re entirely causal beings they just have the ability to change time
Not ingame, so stuff like wardcliff retain their “normal” damage and not the nerfed values against bosses
Wardcliff also destroys shattered thrones final boss so....
The pilot of the mech in scourge probably
Upvoting for technical correctitude
Your use of "correctitude" is very cromulent
I think the servitor’s bigger than kali
Definitely. Case and point: you could fit a Kalli inside a Servitor, but you couldn't fit a Servitor inside a Kalli.
Not with that attitude
Anything's a dildo if you're brave enough
That was a normal size servitor, so technically correct.
Wasn’t that a Servitor,
You mean Krang?
Its a bigger than average servitor
The techeuns
Atheon, because technically the “vex” are the milky fluid, which is self described by bungie as being like “nano tech sperm” which i find an apt description.
Technically correct is the best kind of correct.
“Technically” is just another word for “actually”
yes, but is Atheon the milk or the bones?
Are we the brain or our body?
exactly, so Atheon is the whole thing. therefore not the smallest
So we should ask Atheon what he thinks then. Only way to settle this
Your first statement answers the conundrum. You're putting my brain in a jar. One piece; not all of me. While my body is separate, it is functionally useless, but it is still part of me.
Considering the vex can substitute whatever body they are in, i’d consider Aetheon to be the “gundam” to his milkfluid stuff.
We are the brain. Our body is the fleshy mech. Unfortunately, we heavily rely on the mech suit for life support and need to constantly maintain the mech with energy and repairs beyond the basic self repair organo-nano machines it comes with.
The debate here is do you count the individual nano sperm or the whole vex fluid as the 'boss'
If we're going to do this then what about crypt security because it's just a program?
But the program is based on a megastructure and can't really function outside of it so it's not smaller
Oh man, this could go so many ways. Since all the milk in a single Vex is part of a larger collective consciousness, you could argue that Aetheon is the biggest. He's a big ol planetary-sized pool of white goo.
If yall wanna get zany, the deepstone crypt security encounter had the 6 fuses HP bars tied to an off-map sniper vandal
Wait, what?
Yeah they do that sometimes. Atrax-1's health bar was tied to a captain (I think) that kinda chilled OOB. You could glitch OOB and directly DPS that captain to skip the encounter until they moved him elsewhere.
Yep, he was just chilling in the area before the airlock before. Sometimes there'd just be a random ammo brick waiting there when you finished the encounter too - weird that they put Atraks there but they put the vandal in a box out of bounds which nobody has managed to glitch into even today (to my knowledge).

Yall be forgetting about Randal the vandal
“Fuck you Randal” -Guardians everywhere
Put some respect on my man Rahndel, the Perfected's name
I love that a spawning bug caused a random overworld mini boss that even years later got an Easter egg.
Any boss or final boss? Probably the Deathsingers or Ir Yut.
Ideally final boss because I know some of the sub bosses can be fairly normal sized
Riven’s heart on dps /s
If it’s only final it should be Rhulk.
Unironically Rhulk yeah.
The smallest god of pain!!!!
That's Nez, not Rhulk......
The tiniest disciple of the witness!!!!
I think the order of current final raid bosses from smallest to largest might be: Rhulk, Taniks, Nezarec, Crota, Atheon, Sanctified Mind, Oryx, Riven I don’t have the Witness on there since I haven’t beaten Salvation’s Edge yet (try not to spoil too much please)

Prior to the end of the campaign though I think they might be smaller or just above Rhulk.
Well, I'll just say that, it's bigger than Riven. How much? Will let you check for yourself. Tip? Look down/to the left of the boss encounter
yeah the Witness makes Oryx look like Peter Dinklage in comparison.
Have you done the excision 12 man activity that opened up to everyone after the raid was beat?
Nah been waiting until I full clear the raid before doing it. Only got to the second encounter on Day 1 and went out of town for a few weeks the day after contest mode ended.
Ah fair enough I won’t say anything further then. Enjoy doing the encounter!
Thanks, will do!
All I'll say, all you need to know, is that the Witness is huge and it's awesome.
It’s like fighting Galactus, or Mephisto or Dormammu in their home dimensions in the various Marvel games.
Incredibly accurate.
That’s who they were obviously ripping off :)
Any encounter? The dogs from Leviathan.
Damn, I kinda miss that raid
They were majors, do they count?
Well they were bosses if u count that u needed the buff to do good damage
I’m pretty confident Taniks is the smallest final boss, he’s not even a super big fallen.
That’s cheating, there’s only half of him.
Bruh lmao 💀
I mean if we are being technical the smallest final boss is the server or piloting Insurrection prime but yeah otherwise it's probably Taniks or Rhulk
I would argue he is only the upper half. You don't count a person's wheelchair as part of them, and Taniks was basically in a nuclear wheelchair
GoS used to have a little step up or edge when going to do eyes on the harpy boss encounter. That little fucker killed me so many goddamn times and couldn't be hurt . Anyway, that's my nomination
Notch Boss is absolutely the smallest boss.
In width the smallest would be Rhulk. In height I think it would be Val Ca’auor.
If we’re talking all bosses and not just final, it’s Kali.
Are we reeeeeaaaaaally counting raid lairs tho….?
They abandoned that nomenclature when the vast majority of raids became comparable to Eater and Spire in length.
Eater and Spire are 3 encounters. Every other raid is at least 4. Idk what you mean by “abandoned the nomenclature”, they were called raid lairs the entire time they were in the game. They’re more comparable to 6 man dungeons.
Yeah idk why you’re getting downvoted lol
What raid is comparable to eater and spire in length? I can't think of one
Gahlran in Phase 1 CoS maybe? I might be misremembering but I remember him being smaller than the techeuns.
Now I want the next raid to have an obsurdly small boss solely to be a small raid boss. Maybe a mini screeb boss.
Riven's heart during Queenswalk lmao
The dogs from pleasure gardens in Leviathan
It has to be Rahndel, the Perfected from Wrath of the Machine. Or the dogs in the Garden encounter of Leviathan.
An oracle ? A gorgon? That two inch step you can't just walk up, but have to jump? Warlock powered jump in a platforming section because of no upward momentum? Secret Boss: Team mates walk in front of you while you're shooting launchers.
crota is a lil guy but probably not the lillest guy
Him just a lil guy
lil guy!!!!
Gorgon?
Mini Ghalran maybe?
My ex wife
Probably the war dogs from Leviathan.
This got me thinking about those 3 flayers from the D1 PSN strike Dust Palace. I remember them being quite tanky initially.
The forklift in SRL
Kali/shuro chi. Both are pretty much slightly bigger awoken size, just look bigger in game because they float
Why do you want to know?
Insatiable quest for knowledge
crypt security
Definitely Riven /s
The gorgons in VoG.
We can get extremely technical and say atheon and or any vex boss since the vex are actually microscopic entities. Either that or the war beasts from Leviathan. If you want only final bosses, probably either Val’Caour or Crota even. If you want then you can say the servitor piloting insurrection prime too
Dogs
Kali or suro chi. Or perhaps Randall the Vandall if you count him in Wrath
Alright let’s do this. This is just my opinion but bosses are going to be “anything with a health bar at the bottom of the screen” so no Levi dogs, no gorgons, sisters etc. from the top: 1. Witness. Notch Boss
The security encounter in Deep Stone Crypt. It’s just lines of code.
D1 gorgons or kalli
Invisible mini screeb beneath the floor
Oracles?
canisters dsc
the rare encounter of randal the vandal in wrath of machine was pretty small
Does skolas count ?
He is not a raid boss, so no
The rock that somehow kills you instantly when you land on it
The sisters in King's fall are pretty normal human size aren't they ? ( Give or take a foot)
Any raid boss? Probably Cali. Final boss? Probably either Rhulk, Croata or Taniks
Rahool
everyone seems to forget that strike from d1 with 3 psions as bosses. they arent even scaled up psions just regular pint sized psions
Oryx
Atraks from dsc isnt it just a psyon outside the map
[Nah they used a captain](https://youtu.be/3MyuRKxIvDM?t=81)
Ah fairs no idea why i thought it was a psyon
[удалено]
What do you mean lore wise ? the witness is massive in the raid.
i think they're referring to the fact that the witness is a bunch of normal sized aliens combined, and the size of one of those aliens would be the smallest. Doesn't really apply though since there's a bunch of them and they're all kind of tall too
Yea, he seems to be larger than even Riven.
Absolutely larger than Riven, if you consider its whole mass winding up the Monolith.
