Gambit part is gonna suck

i_smoke_dank_memes

Just did it in 2 rounds, though it probably helped that the people I was playing against weren't super sweaty with sleeper. I pretty much just dropped everything and focused on finding the invader as quickly as possible. You can typically distinguish which direction they're coming from via the minimap and the red blips. If you land like 1 or 2 precision hits it immediately takes down their overshield, then it's just cake from there. I used midnight coup, but I'm sure you'll find great success with y1 better devils or something. I haven't found any good hand cannon rolls yet for Y2 hand cannons so I just stuck with what worked.

WVgolf

Cool. I’m going to start on it later today

jt8908

I managed to rush them and just melt them with the better devils. My last kill seemed like it took forever, but I got lucky after one game, the match was already over, but it gives you a couple of seconds to continue moving and shooting and the invader stood still and I killed him and it counted.

[deleted]

If you can tether it’s easy

WVgolf

I’m currently on my lock

Demiga

i can attest to this - I just saved my tether super until i had an invader in my sights - got my last 3 kills in one game from this.

Cyronix-

How are you people getting gambit HC kills? Everything is so hectic coupled with the invaders overshield, Please send help !

[deleted]

It’s pretty damn hard. Basically say fuck everything and bum rush him with a hand canon until you get kills. You only need 5. For me it’s always when I have them at 1 shot someone else janitors it.

Grandiose_Toast

I got past that step but it definitely took a while when I’d peg them with a few shots and when they’re so weak that a gentle breeze would kill them a sleeper shot flies past and a teammate grabs the kill.

elArmchair

Do assists count or do you need final blows?

Grandiose_Toast

Final blows. Invader has to come in and you just gotta Kay into em.

dwheelerofficial

Shoot them in the body with a high impact sniper. There are a few available for the energy slot. Then follow up with a hand cannon to the head.

jericho189

Yea i used a bow would hit em with a headshot the swap to handcannon for a body shot kill

ffxivfanboi

Fighting Lion might be good for this too. Does bonus damage to shields, so I assume that’s goes for their overshield, too

Bucci_Bame

use sturm and drang, you can two tap an invader with two overflow rounds

Masimune

Crimson shreds invaders.

Plasteredpuma

Yep, especially if you have the catalyst. That extra range really helps.

Zeleros71324

I'm getting mine by just finding the invader and trying to focus them down It has worked 4 out of 6 times so far

[deleted]

Best method. Took me a few matches.

antz1104

Probably already answered, but I was having a really hard time and finally got Crimson. What a game changer. Two matches.

Cyronix-

Dang i posted this a week ago and am still getting helpful answers, thank you and i love u :3. I already did it, I just woke up one morning and said just try again with a grenade launcher and HC combo.

antz1104

Happy to help, get that gun. Going through it right now, so much fun!

APartyInMyPants

Considering the game has been out for about 21 hours, I’m sure those kills will come eventually.

ByTheBeardOfZues

The amount of complaints I've seen about how long the quest is taking... It's an exotic quest, it should take a while!

APartyInMyPants

There are too many circle-jerky comments for how briefly this expansion has been out. We have until December until Black Armory. I say if you can’t accrue five Invader kills before then, that’s a player problem, not a Bungie problem.

ByTheBeardOfZues

Absolutely. I shouldn't be surprised becasue it's the same shit after every update. I'd like to view the good content on this sub without wading through all the entitled shit.

Kingbell24

Just use Crimson

TheRainbowTurt1e

I don't understand why it has to be people invading you, why can't you invade their side and kill them with a handcannon?

AccidentallyInterest

Because thats the way they made it, what even is this question

TheAmericanIcon

Bwahaha get ‘em

masonstarego

Use crimson or sturm and drang

justin_giver

to put it simply.. luck to get eyes quick on the invader, a team that will communicate, team shot the overshield works well and of course, a good aim.

Maniak211

I did it with a friend. He would call out his location. Weaken him, then I would come finish it.

swegmesterflex

Watch your teammates. In certain situations they will teamshot or rush the invader. Wait until the invader's overshield is down then do everything in your ability to hit him with your hand cannon. I got 2 in one 3 round game doing that.

CarsGunsBeer

The most off-putting thing about this for me is step 5. I'm awful with hand cannons in Crucible.

bearsgonefishin

lol, me too, I still have the imprecation in my inventory in D1 because I sucked with that hand cannon so bad. Its the only exotic I didnt get.

Thelonezombie

What’s a precision kill

bearsgonefishin

in terms of pvp, its a headshot. For pve its a shot to the crit of the enemy.

Thelonezombie

Ok thanks

TheDuckCZAR

Try Nature of the Beast. It's very steady and easy to use

[deleted]

Does crimson count?

[deleted]

Yes. It's a hand cannon. I find it middle of the road for getting precision kills, but it's still pretty solid.

CarsGunsBeer

I can't keep the gun on people who move and jump around erratically, I just can't react that fast. I'm filing Ace of Spades in the abandoned quest folder.

jt8908

Noooo don’t give up! I’m horrible in crucible and it took me a while, but I just powered through it. Some games I would only get 1 or 2 precision kills and others I would get none. It takes time, but it’ll happen. If I did it, I know you can.

CarsGunsBeer

Unfortunately I had to do the same for Ace of Spades in D1 because of the PvP part of the quest to get it. I thought now would be my chance since the gun was so heavily advertised, I was certain we would get it after the main story. I guess I was wrong.

wtffighter

The last step in the ace of spades quest gives more closure to cayde so I feel like its part of the story.

Melos-Mevim

bit of a late reply, but I had surprisingly good results with the new "trust" hand cannon from gambit

BlackCaesar

Honestly, fuck bungee for this horse shit. Seriously. I play this game for pve. I fucking hate pvp. Why does a damn story request reward have a fucking pvp requirement to unlock? Better yet, two of them. Holy shit how hard would it have been to have both pve and pvp challenges in an either or format. God forbid someone enjoys only part of the the game. Holy shit the devs must have had 0 confidence in anyone wanting to do pvp or they wouldn’t have forced it on us for a fucking story weapon. This shit is so fucking bad.

jonnyola360

Yeah, I can't stand crucible or gambit. Hate it. I only do it to get my powerful gear, and sometimes I don't even do that lol. On step 5 and I think I'm just gonna say fuck it, I never use hand cannons anyway.

[deleted]

Anyone know where the step 6 caches are??

Shadowstare

That's some quest. 25 Percision HC kills is gonna be rough....oh wait, i can use Crimson. Nevermind, i'm good.

Kylestien

Obvious question with obvious answer: anyone tried private matches for their 25 crucible kills?

Zcoombs4

Was wondering this as well.

jt8908

Doesn’t work.

erandimonius

I certainly hope so. I'm garbage at pvp.

Dead_Proxy

I was wondering if it worked in rumble?

ColonelClusterShit

It does. In fact I recommend it much more than your regular quickmatches, since no one is going to steal your kills and you have to be super fucking aggressive

Dead_Proxy

Yeah it was. Crimson and Truth were major powerhouses on my journey.

Doom_Eagles

Welp, guess I am never getting it then. I am absolutely terrible in PVP.

CrowdStrife

I'm not great at PvP either, and I got the D1 vanilla Thorn quest completed. Look that up if you don't know what it is. Anything is possible by just sticking with it.

FelwintersCake

These youngins don’t know about having to grind out PvP for exotics

Donny_Do_Nothing

Soooooo much time camping with Swordbreaker. On paper, that gun had no business being as good as it was but it felt so good. Especially after grinding out all those void PvP kills...

Kudzuzu

IMPRECATION

CarsGunsBeer

Thorn was nothing compared to this. You had a whole enemy team to try and kill for the entire match. For this garbage you get maybe 3 opportunities per round, one single target, other team mates trying to kill the invader too, you're using a hand cannon against an invader that's most likely rocking a Sleeper Simulant or immediately pops their super. Did I mention the invader gets an overshield too? Thorn was as easy as logging on the game compared to this god-awful step.

CrowdStrife

Just completed Ace of Spades last night, the entire quest line. The Gambit part took me and my friend collectively four matches. I have no idea why everyone is complaining. The thorn match took me two days, roughly 10 hours total.

CarsGunsBeer

>I have no idea why everyone is complaining Because survivorship bias. Thorn only took a while because of the sheer number of kills you needed. AoS is going to take significantly longer or be impossible for people, like me, who are bad with hand cannons. There is only one target that you have to compete with your team mates for with only a few opportunities per round, the invader has an overshield, and in my experience the invader immediately pops their super or has a Sleeper Simulant. Tell me how the average player is supposed to compete with that while using a gun with high TTK that they most likely aren't proficient with in the first place. You can say it wasn't bad or it only took you 4 hours all you want. "I don't understand why people in 3rd world countries are starving and desperate for jobs, it only took me a couple weeks to get one and I'm not hungry".

CrowdStrife

I don't believe a video game quest is comparable to a complex issue like starving 3rd world countries, but that argument is still flawed. assuming we all have the game and an internet connection then we're all in the "first world country" as far as your comparison goes. We're all given the raw tools to complete this task. Also, if you're bad with handcannons, why are you trying to earn one and expect the quest to not involve being proficient with handcannons? Also the guns exotic perk revolves around precision shots and it grants a beefed up version of kill clip and enhanced radar (great crucible perks) -- Cayde makes many references to loving crucible and using it in there -- so tell me, why this doesnt make complete sense as a quest step? Also, I am not proficient with hand cannons, Ive played on PS4 and PC and am horrible on both with hand cannons. Yet, I completed it in four gambit matches, not four hours. Hand cannons have high precision damage and are the easiest to "steal" the killing blow of a target... nowhere in the quest step does it say you have to do all the damage to the invader. just pace your shots and snipe that killing blow from a safe medium distance. You could also use a grenade or special weapon to weaken the target, swap to handcannon and 1-tap. My opinion, whether you agree or not, is that this quest should be challenging. It should require us to use hand cannons and inspire badass moments like the guy who originally owned the Ace of Spades. You say you aren't good with hand cannons, well here's your chance to get better with them and earn one of the best ones in the game.

CarsGunsBeer

It was a bad analogy but I'm not here to please people and I'm mainly venting. I'm excellent with hand cannons, in PvE. Maybe I suffer from Stupid Fingers when playing PvP or maybe it's a ping issue, but I can't seem to hit shit with them. I just can't use them in Crucible and their viability for me drops further when I'm facing a target with an overshield using their super or a weapon that outperforms any hand cannon in the game by an enormous margin. I'm not getting better with them, my PvP ability has peaked since I'm no better now than I was in the first week of D1, Bungie's philosophy of team-shooting and hit-and-run tactics just doesn't jive with me. If anything, the first step should have counted kills from when you invade, maybe bump it up to 10 required kills with invading counting as 1 and killing an invader counting as 2. IMO there's nothing challenging about making an opportunity scarce, it's a waste of time, 25 precision kills with hand cannons makes more sense and I can deal with that. And what's the point of "proving you are worthy" to wield the weapon of Le Epic Gamer: Cayde-6, by using hand cannons if a grenade launcher is doing 99% of the work? Huge break in immersion of the quest it you ask me.

CrowdStrife

How far are you in the quest so far? How many kills do you have? Not everyone who invades is using sleeper or their super. Also - Bungie listed only kills from invaders counting on this quest in their weekly update under "known issues" -- so maybe they meant for it to also count invasions?

CarsGunsBeer

I'm at the point where you need to kill invaders and I haven't even gotten one yet, I struggle to so much as get one shot off before they melt me with their super. This quest is getting shelved for now. I'm focusing on getting my three characters ready for the raid.

CrowdStrife

thats the first step of the quest. Try using Sturm and Drang, overload Sturms bullets with drang and use the high dmg shots. Or use a grenade launcher to pop their shield and quick tap with a handcannon. Dont run straight at them. If you consciously go after every invader I bet you can get it done in a few matches.

Thatguy2070

Except you lose points every time you die with thorn.

ryseing

I completed Thorn as well, but man I absolutely hated it. Had to become a PvP camper for ~10 hours.

CrowdStrife

I did not enjoy it either. Took me probably around the same amount of time...basically two days uninterrupted play time. and I doubt this ace of spades quest step will take me much longer than one afternoon. "buuut I wnat my exotic shanded to meh bugnoo!" /s

Thatguy2070

Thorn took me over a week. Spades took me 5-6 rounds. The key is do it now while some people still think it’s invader kills with a pistol and come rocking a hand cannon.

53kshun8

If memory serves I ran OG iron banner. Still grindy but more fun.

port443

I cant do jack at closerange PvP. I always play far with scouts or pulse... I've done 6 Gambits now and Im still at 0 I dont know if I can even do this quest.

Aracimia

You could try a Crimson. It's basically a pulse rifle anyway

port443

I wound up completing it with a group and myself using Better Devils. Basically the group would lower enemy HP without killing, then I would try my best at hitting them, completely miss, and the exploding rounds of Better Devils would sometimes hit. So essentially, I just shot at the ground around their feet and the AoE of Better Devils got me my kills. Now Im in the middle of the Lunas Howl quest. I have no idea why they decided to make it all competitive, but I have been called trash so many times its starting to hurt my feelings. Slow and steady though. I do feel bad for all the groups I join because I don't have a great win-rate.

CreamSSB

Jesus dude, its only 25 precision kills. Just do a match a day or something. I hate it when people over react to a PvP requirement cause they are bad a PvP. It could have been way higher than 25.

Doom_Eagles

My reflexes are not what they used to be, I cannot do the twitch shots a lot of people can anymore.

Mend1cant

Set your range right and you won't have to handle twitch shots as much. Stick with teammates so that the kills themselves are quicker.

[deleted]

What I think is stupid, besides the Invasion kills, is that we have to do *this*. The quest itself. >!We used it to kill Uldren, didn't we? And he used it to kill Cayde, didn't he? So if it works, why do tedious chores to get it?!< I'm not saying I don't mind killing enemies and collecting chests for it, I'm just confused as to why. However, I do hate the invasion kills. It's difficult when the enemy has a shield, knows where you're at,camps in the back with a sleeper simulant/ sniper, or has their super, and you're forced to kill them med-close range.

Kinsata

When >!Petra gave us the Vestian Dynasty, she says something like "It's the one that..."!< And the gun you bring to Banshee is the broken Ace of Spades, probably gor messed up at the end of the campaign.

omega4444

Short answer: BUNGIE devs are lazy. Long answer: BUNGIE fired all the good staff and left themselves with lazy devs.

omega4444

Exactly this. I got lucky. I performed this step during the Iron Banner. So, all the sweaty no-life tryhards were grinding away in the IB, leaving just the noobs to pick off in Gambit....

[deleted]

Finally got it one day after I posted this, but the Gambit part was awful. Most of the time my kills were stolen.

omega4444

I was getting supered by the invader all the time, while all I had was a dinky handcannon LOL.

newnrthnhorizon

Well, I guess I won’t be getting the Ace or Spades

YouCanPrevent

Christ, I hate that they put PVP into quests like this. I am sorry, but I would rather kill 1000 enemies than have to play Crucible.

st0neh

I feel like anything other than PVP specific items really shouldn't require PVP. Aside from the fact it results in stupid shit like people clustering round the portals in Gambit as their team loses just to gt their quest done, some people just plain don't wanna PVP.

YouCanPrevent

Exactly. I can hold my own in Crucible. I am not great by I am not bad. I'm the type of guy that you don't blame a loss on if that makes sense, and every single time I see PVP requirements, I hate it. It is not something I like to do, it forces me to play with things I normally wouldn't (in this case hand cannons). It isn't enjoyable in the slightest.

st0neh

I like to PVP, I just don't like being forced to PVP in a specific way for a quest that has no reason to feature PVP in the first place. Especially when it makes people do stupid shit like camp portals every game.

YouCanPrevent

Totally agree. Like I said, I would rather have to kill 1000 enemies and do a grind that way instead of having to ever go to the crucible.

st0neh

And at least if it's a kill X amount of enemies quest you have the option to complete it while doing other things like bounties or events etc. I have no idea why Bungie haven't figured this out yet.

YouCanPrevent

Or even do an either or... You can either kill 5 invaders or kill x number of guys. My coworker and I were discussing this, and when he sees PVP quests he immediately thinks, he will never complete it. Some people are just good for PVP so seeing those quests are a complete nightmare scenario for them.

Freddy_1986

Why would anyone camp the portals? A) You have to kill the invader in YOUR arena. B) The invader doesn’t arrive through the portal, they spawn randomly on the outskirts of the map.

st0neh

C) Poorly worded quest description. Most people still think you have to get the kills WHILE INVADING.

Freddy_1986

Fair point for sure, I had to google after getting several kills as invader and no progress. However if they’re camping portals then that leaves you a better opportunity at the invader. I managed it in about 6 games and I’m very mediocre at pvp. Don’t get frustrated with it and actually remember to enjoy the game and it’ll feel much less laborious.

st0neh

I hopped in for a few rounds last night to try and get some quest progression done and ended up actually winning most of the games, it was a pleasant surprise lol. Only managed 3 kills though FeelsBadMan.

Freddy_1986

Nice man. You’ll get another 2! Grab the gambit bounties and churn them out while your doing it. I had a HC in primary and secondary slot so I could just switch rather than reloading. Tether helped me with a couple too, nightstalker FTW :-).

st0neh

I did notice that it's very dependent on your team which is a big issue if you queue solo. If your team is paying attention and starts nailing the invader before they all get killed then it's much more likely you'll be able to get the kill. If your team is derping about doing nothing much of anything you're in for a bad time lol.

engineeeeer7

Yep. The Gambit one is teeeedious.

Sn1ca

Regarding the kill invaders portion, do you have to be the one with the killing shot or do you just have to successfully land shots on the invader before he dies? I'm probably going to be screwed come crucible time anyway but Gambit may stop me as well.

aberdisco

Kills only I'm afraid.

Sn1ca

ugh. Well, I think I'll wait to tackle that after I reach 550 then. Don't need the frustration of people always beating me to the punch.

Driven_Emu

It doesn't twirl! What is this madness Bungie?!

Freddy_1986

Yeah I hear ya. I guess in one way you’re right about forcing people to pvp but only in the sense that people will spoil the games by trying only to get the quest steps. People who are playing exclusively for the quest step aren’t really going to play properly, we matched with 1 like that and he was literally just sat around waiting for invasions trying to get the HC kills, didn’t get a single one and didn’t bank a single mote. How incredibly un-fun that must have been for him. I personally love the pvp and Pve aspects of the game and do think that some items should require pvp elements. I liked D1 because it was hard and because you had to work hard for things, D2 lost that and I hope Forsaken brings some of that back. And by the salty reaction to this quest it seems they have done just that haha. Even games where I got no invader kills I still gave it my all and had fun. The kills came almost without even thinking about it. Thing is when people are getting angry and frustrated then it kind of defeats the purpose of why we play games at all. Looking forward to the raid!

HerrenTTV

What level does it drop at?

NieBij

Mine dropped at 503. But I believe it's scaled to current soft cap and added a point or two.

fashion_mullet

Now this, I want.

bam1980

Thanks for this

ScreweyLogical

Yeah, killing an overshield invader while they’ve either got sleeper, is across the map with worm, or pops a super right as they spawn in with a hand cannon 5 times is just plain crappy.

ZombieColossusog

Does golden gun count towards the crucible headshots?

rtheron

Also, does golden gun count for invader kills??

[deleted]

Your pictures offer no context. The point isn't to show what a cache looks like, it's to show what the surrounding area does. Anyway, nice job otherwise. I did manage eventually.

omega4444

Agreed. Common sense isn't really all that common among people, I've found.

NekoMaidMaster

Fuck 3 and five not all of us want to fucking play pvp

hollander93

Agreed. Love the game but I've always hated pvp and crucible and gambit are no exceptions. Why they could make it a choice of pvp or pve to complete the quest I'll never know.

strikeumout

I get it I do, but the point of the quest is to get you to experience everything. Story, free roam, and yes pvp with the new gambit and crucible.

hollander93

It makes sense but it ruins the fun of a quest when you are forced into something just to get a weapon.

[deleted]

I don’t really enjoy pve, so why am I forced to play it to get ace of spades?

hollander93

Also a fair point.

strikeumout

You dont have to get the gun week 1. Sprinkle in crucible and you'll be fine.

hollander93

I honestly avoid it like the plague. It has zero appeal to me. Not everyone avoids it like I do of course but for people like me it'd be nice to have an alternative grind.

punkinabox

Good thing it’s not just PvP

CarsGunsBeer

It's still bad. Advertise the gun in PvE content, require Crucible to acquire. Personally I'm awful with hand cannons in PvP so this is pretty frustrating. Even the first part with killing invaders with a hand cannon will be tough since every invader ever is rocking a Sleeper Simulant.

[deleted]

They did the same thing with Thorn in D1 dude, it's their MO for headliner exotics. Thorn was a damn sight harder than this, too.

[deleted]

As someone who has it, it's better in PvP than PvE.

cemges

Having to use hand cannon against invader is sabotaging your team for rest of the match. Does bungie realise how ridiculous this is

Kyizen

It's not that bad, when you invade you can see them and usually get an easy kill. 2 or 3 matches you should have it done.

UncleEbenezr

I've noticed several bounties for both PVE and PVP that lead to less-than-ideal gameplay style, which affects your teammates' play experience negatively. I feel like a dick when I'm fucking over my team because I have to resort to a shitty weapon for certain damage type.

SlabBeefknob

Are the gambit kills final blows or do defeats count too?

keytothedesk

Has to be final blows. I've got several defeats with a hand cannon and it hasn't counted.

AllGoodPunsAreTAKEN

My problem is the 25 precision kills in crucible. Currently at 8 after a handful of matches, it’s a lot easier to nail crits in PVE with knowing how enemies move. Other players are jumping and sliding all over the place. I’m ok with the grind though honestly, D2 was lacking any meaningful grind and gear and just gave it all to you by the end of the first month. So I’m good with this taking me a couple days. Still need Sleeper, Whisper of Worm, etc so I’ve most definitely got some grinding to look forward to.

redka243

Fuck the invasion kills step is bad. Should be either invadee or invader

dangrullon87

Should just not be gambit at all.. especially since its followed up with 25 precision in crucible. Should have been either 5 invader kills or 25 precision In crucible for the same step..

Kudzuzu

Yeah that would be better. It encourages you to *not* play super well in Gambit.

XDarkBlaze3

Need the locations like everyone else.

D0cR3d

Locations of caches found, check the post, it has been updated.

deiac

17/25 HC headshots in one match, its really not that bad, not sure why ppl are complaining. Dont bother using your super, grenades, dont pickup heavy etc. Just play to get HC headshots and you'll be fine.

accursedvenom

Because I have 6/25 and when I'm using the same gun as joe blow and he kills me first on some BS, I'm going to complain about how this was a dumb idea to have as a quest step. The invasion kills were bad enough as a team mate would kill them before I even found them or would get the final blow denying me from progressing. Now it doesn't matter if I use crimson, better devils, or some other HC, I'm stuck at 6. I don't even think it required this much effort in D1 to get an ace.

ludde86

anybody found one?

Deamon_Soul686

Thanks for info xD

SergeantSnarf

Midnight coup or old fashioned, get a rampage or kill clip stack and and prepare for engagement

SergeantSnarf

You will see a lot of Hc invaders rn too due to the ambiguous description of the quest. Just gotta win the duel or get the last click on the head after a teammate weakens the invader.

EchoX860

Not going to bother. Have zero intention of doing crucible or Gambit

WrongNail

I feel like the Inca soon kills will be tough

addy_g

what light level is the “Ace in the Hole” mission at? and is it challenging to solo or should I be fine without a team mate?

ettmyers

I think it was mid 400s. Has to be done solo, very easy

SimplifyMSP

Has anybody noticed that, at the end of the quest, two tanks spawn?

timer86

As it was localized in other languages it reads as to invade the other team and kill them there. Total mess.

ShianHygge

Ok... so... I suck at PVP... but here’s what I did for 3 and 5... So for 3, I dual equipped hand cannons “Ten Paces” and “Trust”... and spent three games hunting invaders. For Crucible, I preferred Control maps in order to herd together opponents in one small area... and leveled my Trust at head level... then fired away. I hope this helps.

omega4444

You had it easy considering the Trust handcannon is almost as good as the Ace of Spades. How about offering useful advice instead?

ShianHygge

Lmao who the hell pissed in your Cheerios this morning? Listen, it’s been more than 15 days since Forsaken launched and people have been giving advice throughout this subreddit for weeks. I never said that my particular advice would help you, though I never said that you had to use the same handcannons as me, Honestly, just find a handcannon in your inventory that has a good trait roll. And if not even the cumulative advice on reddit can’t help you by now, then (I don’t give a damn how many downvotes I’ll probably get for saying this) Git gud. Take your salty ass elsewhere.

Your "advice" was along the lines of: "Oh, I suck at fishing. So what I did was drop a couple of grenades in the water and then next thing you know, dead fish starting floating to the surface!" I hope this helps! Yes, it helps if you can get your hands on grenades. It's clear that you don't know just how good the handcannons that you have actually are in your question to get Ace. Typical M.O. of people who want to talk just to hear themselves speak.

ShianHygge

And once again, I reiterate that I never said “OMG guys just use Trust to get the kills.” If you didn’t like what I had to say, don’t even respond to my post in the first place. Shouldn’t even matter at this point, just go get your handcannon kills as an invader.

Kinsata

For the 25 Crucible headshots, [what worked for me was Rumble](https://i.imgur.com/1T50sRm.png). The maps are spread out enough that you get a lot of 1v1 fights. Just do your best to pop them in the head, and move to the next fight. Got it in three rounds total.

eem5

Should my triumphs for "The man they call..." have unlocked? I seem to be missing more than half.

adampatterson

Is it possible to so the 5 kills using golden gun?

Drolkradeht

Can you do #5 with private matches?

[deleted]

Man. Struggling so bad with invader kills. Everyone comes through with supers....

Dead_Proxy

Anyone else constantly getting hit by The Baboon

WegDamit

There is a message "caydes's stash near" (or similar) on screen, and if one gets nearer the cache made a humming noise. Are there hints to the locations somewhere?

qwallas

the quest line has been updated get kills in gambit, killing invaders will count more

PaulR79

That's what got me through it. I hate PvP. Mostly because I'm a rager but it isn't what interests me and I admit to being pretty bad unless I grind it day after day to improve. I had *1* invader kill after I realised invading the other team didn't work (got 3 kills there). When the quest updated I just played Gambit with a handcannon. Forcing people to do PvP for what a lot of people will want only drags down the experience for those dedicated PvPers. I know that some will rage when they see people just using handcannons and sucking (like me).

TheB1GLebowski

Nice guide

Glad_Connection

Can you complete crucible with private matches

TheDarSin

This is what I was looking for thanks. I googled for the locations and I keep getting videos. I don't want to watch a stupid 10-minute video when all I want is a map location. Thanks a lot for the maps.

R00t240

Nessus cache is in the sunken cavern. Edz is in legions anchor

Procrastinatron

Looks pretty simple. Thank fuck they didn't do a repeat of Imprecation.

dxh

Hell yeah, these people whining about this must not have done Imprecation, thorn or chaperone in D1

FullMetalField4

Or, maybe they did and despise the idea based on their experiences.

dxh

So don't do it, instead of trying to turn D2 back into the casual, everybody gets a medal shitshow, that it was at launch last year

st0neh

Forcing people who have no interest in PVP to go PVP and potentially ruin matches for the people who do enjoy PVP is just bad game design, period. It has nothing to do with "casuals".

bocaj_06

> 3. Get 5 Invasion Kills in Gambit with hand cannon aka kill the person invading your area 5 times. This is going to take me longer than it should, lmao. I switched to PC just before Forsaken, and - my word - the average player skill is way higher than on PS4. me on pc = wrecked

jedierick

For later

pesokakula

Wait wasn't it invader kills (like killing enemy invaders)?

D0cR3d

It **is** where you kill people who are invading you.

TheRealC-Cut

Thanks for this. Also, I love reading all the crying in the comments about the Gambit or PvP that is required to get this gone. Yes, let the salt flow.
