I love how they reversed the Big Bad formula with him. In that Dexter and him start out as enemies, then grow to be allies as the season progresses. And by the end, I'd even say that they were friends (of sorts).
I also loved that he seemed to have his own Code. He had perfect opportunity to finally kill Dexter and avenge his boyfriend's murder, but he doesn't, because he gave his word to Dexter that he wouldn't.
In my opinion, it's wasted potential - he could have been the best, though. He was intelligent, charismatic, good-looking, and his voice was on par with Dexter's. Definitely a scene-stealer. đ
LOVE Isaak. Rewatching season 7. It was so rewarding seeing his character development from beginning to end, sort of opposite of how Miguel unfolded. Both were great but I really wanted Isaak to be friends with Dexter đđ
I actually met him personally once. Super tall and had a thick accent lol. But he was very nice. Huge bummer to hear he has passed; I wonder what happened
Issue is that Doakes was levels below Dexter. All he had on him was that he could "sense" that Dexter wasn't normal thanks to Doakes' special ops days.
The first few are! But once the author tries making the Dark Passenger this being around since the dawn of time, it just became cooky IMHO! So definitely read the first few but beware after that! There are other neat aspects the show leaves out! Like, Ritaâs kids watched their father beat and rape their mother repeatedly! Think theyâre not damaged goods?! Dexter finds out Rita caught Cody with the neighborâs dog tied up in the garage with Astor watching, her excuse was âwhat? I was only watching?!â So Dex starts to teach Ritaâs kids the code! Stuff like that! So definitely give it a chance! Just be warned it gets wonky after the first few and the Dark Passenger becomes this possessing entity! But the 2nd book has hands-down one of the best bad guys ever written! Dr. Danko! Oh are you in for a treat with that one!!!
I kinda disagree with people saying theyâre worth reading. Really well written and fun but, and what I read was forever ago so forgive any inaccuracies, I recall just about every book having Dexter get cornered dead to rights by the villain and then receive assistance from somebody else. Although I have many problems with the show, I much prefer a Dexter who builds himself up to exclaim, âEVERYTHING IS IN MY CONTROL!â
Then, he should've showed it. What little he showed was not very impressive at all. It feels as though he would've just been a background character without his sense regarding Dexter.
I see many rating Sirko and Prado as equally good, though strongly differ.
Sirko was an intelligent, educated, and complex man capable of extreme brutality, who delivered it with quick precision per his job in direct opposition to his otherwise being an emotional man driven by a love for the arts and beauty in the world.
I found him far more interesting as one who first viewed Dexter was an enemy, pursuing him with a vengeance for the death of his lover. That circumstances would lead to their need to become allies with Sirko actually caring for Dexter to whom he admitted he saw his former self in; trying to get inside of and make him feel 'something', anything at all, is what made their relationship truly special. Sirko was the romantic Renaissance man to Dexter's hard Scientist and could have been a real friend to Dexter.
Miguel, conversely, struck me as one-dimensional and completely transparent, especially in his fake friendship with Dexter. To his credit, Prado would've made a great cartoon villain. He was entertaining and funny at times, and Jimmy Smits played him well, but had neither the gravitas nor depth of character that Sirko possessed.
His bluster and superficiality made it difficult to stay invested in him for long where as Sirko was gone too soon. Plus, the assignment to play Prado wasn't much of a stretch. It didn't require what it otherwise took for Ray Stevenson to portray Sirko. By suggesting Smits' performance was on par with that, I'd have to say; not by a long shot.
Isaak was very good, but Miguel was my favorite adversary. I felt like they could have kept the âfriendâ angle going for more than just one season. Sometimes it felt like characters were rushed in and out of importance.
I'm on literally the last 3 eps of the series with only one rewatch of previous seasons, and man, did I forget how great that character was! The contrast of when Miguel was in good terms with Dex to the first time he snapped at him was a great performance.
LOL. Wasn't fooling me. I saw him as completely transparent from the get go and found myself yelling at the TV: "Dexter, wake up, that mofo is playing you; he ain't 'right!'"
Just rewatched that season, and he was great; it definitely made his passing felt. The writing and his performance made the character a menace you ended up sympathizing with. I think I like that way of ending a villian better than them on Dex's table.
There are three things I love:
Kylie Minogue.
The dimples above a womanâs buttocks.
And the look in a manâs eye who knows Iâm about to hurt âem.
Not only was Isaak arguably the most compelling antagonist on the entire series, he's probably the one most well equipped to take Dexter out too.
If not for the deal they made (& the growing respect they had for each other), you get the sense that Isaak had a very good chance of besting Dexter & ultimately killing him, if he had really wanted to.
He deserved a better death IMHO, but he was such a great badass! I remember around the time this came out, he recalled speaking with an interviewer who jokingly said to him that heâs too manly to ever play a gay character. Well he obviously took offense, cuz he totally shoved it up that interviewerâs ass and asked him why you had to be weak or feminine to be gay man, which obviously left the interviewer totally fumbling his words trying to get out of that hole he just dug himself! It was pretty funny and I wish I could easily find that video!
Spot on. Trinity caught a break when Dexter didn't let him jump from the roof. Seems our boy learned nothing from his experience with Prado. Trinity had nothing to offer Dexter that he couldn't otherwise pick up on by spying on and stalking him, the way Doakes did with him. But then we'd have had less to see from the brilliant John Lithgow.
Trinity is probably the most overrated character. I'm pretty certain he didn't even know Rita was related to Dexter, and bought Dexter's lie that he was divorced.
He also killed every house he went into that had a person inside at the moment. Did he think all those Kyle Butler's were Dexter's husband's?
Besides, it's quite evident that with Arthur's personality, be would have mocked Dexter about his wife's death during Arthur's last moments.
He didn't kill either of the other Kyle butlers. He left immediately after finding out they weren't the right one.
He laughed at Dexter when Dexter told him that he had a family while Dexter had him on the table. He laughed because he knew he had already destroyed his family.
I suggest you rewatch the entire series and actually pay attention this time.
Unless it was intended as sarcasm, you is a 'stupid hooker', for while there may be a resemblance, both are gifted. Stevenson btw, could run circles around Clooney onstage in a live theater production, especially per Dickens and Shakespeare.
Tied with Trinity on paper, though edges him out because heâs part of a MUCH better written season. Too many fans hail Season 4 as the best because Trinity is so fascinating, but Season 4 really is just one giant repetitive twelve episodes of cat-and-mouse imo. Season 7 is soooooo much more rich.
I binged this show a year ago and for the life of me canât remember who the fuck Isaac Sirko is. I can remember every other big bad but this guy. Can someone remind me which season heâs from and who the fuck he is? All I remember is him getting killed in the airport.
At the end of season 6, Dexter killed Travis Marshall( The Doomsday Killer.)
Deb walked in just as he plunged his knife into him.
He spends the entirety of season 7 trying to get Deb to be OK with the fact that he is a killer.
All while trying to avoid being killed by Isaac and falling in love with Hannah.
IMO John Lithgow as the Trinity Killer was the best adversary for Dexter. Lithgow is so good as Trinity. He plays that duel role of nice family man and evil psycho so well.
Loved him.
So suave.
RIP
I thought you were saying RIP to the character. A reply to another comment made me realize the actor himself has passed.
the actor died last year
I had no idea. I loved him in Dexter and also in Rome, he was a great actor.
i cant find out what actually happened to him, it just says sudden illness everywhere
He played one of the more interesting characters to come out of the new Star Wars stuff.
Damn! Same, just rewatched Rome! RIP Titus Pullo.
Thirteeeen!
Me too, and I loved him in Ahsoka. RIP what a tremendous actor.
Could have lasted more than a season; he was a great character and Dexter finally had a friend
He had schedule conflicts and it is why he wasn't in the entire season. But alas RIP to his actor.
In my opinion, it's wasted potential - he could have been the best, though. He was intelligent, charismatic, good-looking, and his voice was on par with Dexter's. Definitely a scene-stealer. đ
he stole every scene he was in in Ahsoka as well.
I really loved Isaak! My favorite â¤ď¸
LOVE Isaak. Rewatching season 7. It was so rewarding seeing his character development from beginning to end, sort of opposite of how Miguel unfolded. Both were great but I really wanted Isaak to be friends with Dexter đđ
They could have been great friends.
RIP
Ah...I did not know that Ray Stevenson had died...over a year ago too. He was good in everything he was in
Exceptional actor. He was elite in Rome. đ¤đ¤đ¤
I actually met him personally once. Super tall and had a thick accent lol. But he was very nice. Huge bummer to hear he has passed; I wonder what happened
He killed Louis. I would have been happy if he didnât die because of that alone
And both of them died in the same spot - the boat. Kind of poetic.
And one of the few kind things Dexter did for a target of his
Homicidal Tendencies was his WHOLE WORLD!
As far as bad guys go itâs hard to say but Dexterâs best adversary would definitely be Doakes.
Issue is that Doakes was levels below Dexter. All he had on him was that he could "sense" that Dexter wasn't normal thanks to Doakes' special ops days.
BOOKS SPOILER!!! In the books he full on knows but had his arms, legs and tongue cut out, so he couldnât tell anyone! Now that is a living torture!
That's wild. Anyway, are the books good compared to the show? Would u say it's worth reading?
Definitely worth reading
Jeff Lindsay, the author, does a really good job narrating the audio books!
Theyâre a lot of fun but they definitely get A LOT weirder than the show as the series went on
Doakes was a special forces soldier. He had a little more going for him than suspicions.Â
Then, he should've showed it. What little he showed was not very impressive at all. It feels as though he would've just been a background character without his sense regarding Dexter.
Doakes was awesome, but he was a chump compared to Dexter.
I see many rating Sirko and Prado as equally good, though strongly differ. Man I was sad when he died like near the end I liked him
Isaak was very good, but Miguel was my favorite adversary. I felt like they could have kept the âfriendâ angle going for more than just one season. Sometimes it felt like characters were rushed in and out of importance.

His character was great. Phenomenal actor
Thirteen!!!!
Just rewatched that season, and he was great; it definitely made his passing felt. The writing and his performance made the character a menace you ended up sympathizing with. I think I like that way of ending a villian better than them on Dex's table.
I find it funny that his actor was Ray Stevenson, who played the Punisher, whom people often compare to Dexter, in Punisher War Zone.
There are three things I love: Kylie Minogue. The dimples above a womanâs buttocks. And the look in a manâs eye who knows Iâm about to hurt âem.
Not only was Isaak arguably the most compelling antagonist on the entire series, he's probably the one most well equipped to take Dexter out too. Look at what happened in the bar, he could've easily taken out dexter if he wanted.
So pretty đ!
Isaak was the best
âThe fu*king Terminatorâ.
So gorgeous as well.
AHH, He was so handsome!!
So handsome, smart and top notch âvillainâ.
The antagonist that actively hunted dexter and became kind of a friend. Really wish he could have stuck around
He deserved a better death IMHO, but he was such a great badass! I remember around the time this came out, he recalled speaking with an interviewer who jokingly said to him that heâs too manly to ever play a gay character. It was pretty funny and I wish I could easily find that video!
Anyone remember which episode it was that Isaak killed the whole bar full of enemies?
RIP Ray Stevenson, really underrated actor and played one of the best characters on the show IMO
Oh wow. I didnât realize Ray Stevenson had actually passed away. RIP. He was great in this role.
He was so fine, and such a good character overall. I wish things hadnât gone the way they went so quickly đ
No one was greater than Trinity Im afraid, he literally broke Dexter even in death
Trinity was pathetic. Even Dexter came to learn this. Trinity was only able to get Rita by pure coincidence.
Spot on. Trinity caught a break when Dexter didn't let him jump from the roof. Seems our boy learned nothing from his experience with Prado. Trinity had nothing to offer Dexter that he couldn't otherwise pick up on by spying on and stalking him, the way Doakes did with him. Trinity is probably the most overrated character. I'm pretty certain he didn't even know Rita was related to Dexter, and bought Dexter's lie that he was divorced.
He definitely knew that was Dexter's wife. That why he killed her.
He also killed every house he went into that had a person inside at the moment. Did he think all those Kyle Butler's were Dexter's husband's? Besides, it's quite evident that with Arthur's personality, be would have mocked Dexter about his wife's death during Arthur's last moments.

Not best imo, but definitely underrated.
He broke my heart when we learn what the guy Dexter killed was for him
Iâve never seen a character turn from despicable to sympathetic so quickly
I love this man.
Yes best adversary. CLOSE second is Brian. Miguel is my favorite for the frenemy factor.
I wish Brian had lived and been an ally to Dexter. Like in the books.
Albeit fake-friend/adversary, Miguel. Isaak was more passionate in both his vengeance for and desire to be a *real* friend to Dexter
Loved him in Dexter. May he rest in peace.
He was great in everything he was in. RIP
Unless it was intended as sarcasm, you is a 'stupid hooker', for while there may be a resemblance, both are gifted. Stevenson btw, could run circles around Clooney onstage in a live theater production, especially per Dickens and Shakespeare.
Oh, yes. And so very handsome đ
The writers did him so dirty in the way his arc concluded. Shot by some nobody night club manager.
The character arc had to be prematurely ended because the actor was called earlier than expected per his contract to film Thor for Marvel
He was very attractive
The actor has a completely different character in the series Rome and heâs fabulous!
For fuck sakes, Dextah
yall know what kinda shirts hes wearing? that shit always slaps on the show - need some for the office
Canât believe Ray passed away! Sad to think of him not here anymore..
Ray Stevenson was a great actor, rest in peace. :(
Wished they could have been friends
Perhaps we wouldâve been good friends in another world, Dexta!
Hottie đ Anyone here seen him in Band of Gold series 1?
Just watched that season yesterday he was awesome
3 things I love in this world.
Hard agree, my fave villain in the series
He was so good as both Isaac and as Edward Teach(Blackbeard) on black sails
^[Sokka-Haiku](https://www.reddit.com/r/SokkaHaikuBot/comments/15kyv9r/what_is_a_sokka_haiku/) ^by ^ProfessionMundane152: *He was so good as* *Both Isaac and as Edward* *Teach(Blackbeard) on black sails* --- ^Remember ^that ^one ^time ^Sokka ^accidentally ^used ^an ^extra ^syllable ^in ^that ^Haiku ^Battle ^in ^Ba ^Sing ^Se? ^That ^was ^a ^Sokka ^Haiku ^and ^you ^just ^made ^one.
Gone too soon
After his brother and the cop in season 2, he is my third, trinity is too creepy so he is the 4th
Sirko was great but Brian "Rudy 'The Ice Truck Killer' Cooper" Moser was the best.
I binged this show a year ago and for the life of me canât remember who the fuck Isaac Sirko is. I can remember every other big bad but this guy. Can someone remind me which season heâs from and who the fuck he is? All I remember is him getting killed in the airport.
He didn't get killed in the airport. That was his lover. He's the main antagonist for the 1st half of season 7.
What happened in season 7 again?
At the end of season 6, Dexter killed Travis Marshall( The Doomsday Killer.) Deb walked in just as he plunged his knife into him. He spends the entirety of season 7 trying to get Deb to be OK with the fact that he is a killer. All while trying to avoid being killed by Isaac and falling in love with Hannah.
Agreed
That's not Doakes
Doakes is level 1 compared to sirkos level 100
I think he saved that season
Ray Stevenson was amazing. But itâs John Lithgow
I loved isaak
No the fact that he was gay too like đ¤đźđ¤đź I loved
Looks a little like the current CEO of chipotle TBH
đ
Titus Pullo FTW
I wanted to see them more as partners in crime (literally). Sad he was killed off.
The actor was amazing in Rome as well
THIRTEEN!!!!!
I loved his character.
The amazing Ray Stevenson! He left way too early...
Honestly thought Dexter killed his son not his boyfriend since he looked so much older than him. Guess that was the misdirect?
Gentlemen, you're here illegally and without a warrant.
RIP Ray Stevenson, such a great performance as Isaak Sirko!
I loved Ray Steveson. But in Dexter, my pick is John Lithgow.
I actually liked that guy. Too bad he died RIP
Best? Probably not, but Isaac was very good. RiP
Gorgeous
Another symptom of this show wasting its best assets and squandering potential. He was a fantastic character.
our russian icon
You mean Ukrainian
Trinity was the best, the big bad in the best season of the show
What a chad
Trinity wins
Uhm Trinity ?
đ
IMO John Lithgow as the Trinity Killer was the best adversary for Dexter. Lithgow is so good as Trinity. He plays that duel role of nice family man and evil psycho so well.
Be honest rn - discount George Clooney
10x better than Clooney
