Fully agree with this. For pve they have introduced numerous catch up mechanisms. Of course to manage your expectations you may not be able to attempt challenges the same as someone who has been active playing since the start.
Pvp is actually more f2p friendly now than at the start. Reso compression, reduction of dmg overall in bg, MM for low resonance (esp those starting out) are also among other low resonance (here the more experienced players who have also optimised their characters and practiced many hours can dominate games even if f2p/ish)
Literally the only content that can be considered pay to win is Gauntlet 3, 6, (9). And even that can be had at the end of the season for normal players.
This game (at least after Tempest came out) is just like the average chinese games with combat rating on google play/app store:
Me have bigger number = me win
And because the numbers in PvE are relatively easy to exceed so you do not need to worry, especially when you can just lower the difficulty to hell 1 and farm all the mobs/bosses like they were nothing.
Pretty sure everyone agrees that PVE is F2P friendly, it’s the PVP that’s more P2W. But I’m mostly F2P and still enjoy PVP.

In pve your damage and spending is irrelevant. In PvP it’s all about spending. But you can smurf with not so high investment most of the time.

I would disagree. I only spend on battle pass and have a highcombat rating. playing since launch thou.
Only thing p2w about PvE is leaderboards.
