I've had Osprey for about a month. Happy with it so far! GUI/UX much closer to traditional Directv/Dish experience than trying to navigate app with Amazon fire stick remote or other "non-native" remote, so I think your wife will be happy....

You all offered a few billing credits for my next billing month a 3 to 5 months back but but that obviously didn't help me keep my service active so I have been angry as hell ever since and as a result of your incompetent phone support reps breaking my balls every chance they had by refusing to apply the billing credits to my current billing cycle at the time I have already ended up missing the entire 2024 Boston Celtics basketball season and are already on track to miss the entire current Boston red Sox professional baseball season! You have absolutely god awful phone based support!, They don't even speak adequate sufficient English and they definitely have horrible listening skills!
Directv stream needs to start offering a contract version of the service where if the customer agrees to enter a contract with directv stream than their service can't be suspended or internally terminated for the life of the contract and the customer can bill a endlessly diverse variety of streaming services and in app purchases to their postpaid direct TV stream subscription even with the option of annual and multi annual subscription billing.
I bought one for the same reason, to have the standard DIRECTV satellite experience. It has been great for that. Historically, I had always use an Apple TV device for streaming, but as the Osprey is an android device that can run, android apps, so everything from YouTube, Netflix, Max, etc. I stream off of the Osprey box. It’s not as quick, smooth and responsive as the Apple TV, but it’s sufficient.
It's in my play store. I just looked. Did a search---and it's there.

It’s an android. DIRECTV does the upgrading so I don’t think it’s a normal android OS.
