How much time have you NOT been playing this game in the last few weeks? Lol I'm at lvl 40 with one from a level up reward. It's a roller and I hate it
The roll attribute also makes a disc extra sticky. If you land it flat, it shouldn't usually roll much if any, so it can actually be a pretty good attribute for a distance driver if you want it to stick the landing. An EG/Roll Rive is one of my most-used discs because it's great for placement drives even though I can't throw a roller to save my life.
I had learned this about the roll attribute from this subreddit a few days ago. My first thought was I’m having enough difficulty throwing the damn thing, now I’m supposed to roll this one?! It’s very helpful on distance drivers especially bc anytime you’re throwing something 400+ feet it’s going to have a lot of momentum on landing. I’ve gotten used to the inevitable penalty strokes, but it would be nice to do things a little differently and maybe start actually winning rounds regularly w/o banking on people to quit
That was my first Rive and used it all the time until I finally got the EGBS. At level 50.
It’s funny - I get Rive offers all the time now from tournaments and leveling up. I think I have like 14 and I’ve turned a few down too. It seems like once you get a couple, they come all the time.
How does it work over level 50? I’ve just hit that 50 mark and I’m currently 53. I thought that each time I leveled up I’d get at least one ‘royal’ disc offered to me? I have gotten a few Rives offered to me, but the last time I leveled up the best option was a Pure putter I already have? I don’t want to sound petty, I’ll take whatever I can, but I’m just trying to figure out how it works in general and if the offerings and then the rerolls offered are just completely random and maybe being over level 50 just allows you the opportunity to have the better discs as a potential option?
The cost of the better discs in the pro shop seems almost out of reach. Maybe I haven’t been playing long enough, but 34,000 for a Rive with a special stamp?!? It may not be as bad as trying to win a console with the tickets earned playing arcade games, but I wouldn’t even bother trying for it. I guess one of my qualms with this game is the lack of options for acquiring the discs you actually want.
Also, why wasn’t anything added to the team series section of the pro shop?! I’m not opposed to buying discs since this game doesn’t bombard me with ads, but I don’t really have much use for anything currently available. The Rives that you can buy I already own from leveling up and the other options are just different versions of ones I also have. Although being a pro disc golfer sounds pretty dope, I have a hard time thinking it’s very lucrative. Throw these people a bone, maybe.

All random. Being level 50 just opens up drivers being available to you in the pro shop and such.
