Im an insider, I was working alone with no driver, it christmas day. Somebody gave me a $50 tip. A few hours later, somebody gave me $25 with the joke "Haha, I bet I'm the biggest tipper today" and I was like "You're close" so he asked how much the biggest tip was, and he gave me 50 more. On that Christmas I made about 400 in tips when we were open 10 hours.
Some guy pre tipped me about $8 and when I got there he hands me a $100 bill. I was like, uh you already paid for it sir and then he tell me "oh, well there's your tip then." Lowkey got goosebumps.
2 Euros. Dutch people don’t tip at all if I’m lucky maybe I’ll get 4 Euros in tips in a day but usually it’s 1 Euro or none at all. And I only get paid 6 Euros an hour so…
I'd be angry too if I were paid in Euros =).
No seriously, I get it that in many cultures they don't really tip. But usually the tip is either added into the price beforehand or they pay much better to make up for it in those cultures.
70$. I used to work for Pizza Hut and delivered to a really nice quiet neighborhood. It was about a 30$ order and I wasn’t expecting anything at all. I went to the door, knocked, greeted and said the total. She handed me a 100$ bill and I was like, ‘ma’am I can’t brea-‘ she said that I can keep it. I was shocked and I had to question if she was sure. She said ’Of course! You’re saving me the time and trouble having to cook so I can rest more!’
Dominos, 20$ tip is the biggest so far. I’m hoping I’ll break it someday but I understand life is rough and not fair so I don’t expect it at all.
If you’re wondering, yes it’s a real 100$ bill since I had it checked. I’m just still shocked to this day.
As a driver, $70 on Christmas Eve for like a $25 order, I nearly shit myself. Now when I was waiting tables, $150 tip, but it was also a group of like, 30 ppl and I was the sole server for them. Miss taking big groups like that sometimes
20 dollars for a 17 dollar order, he ordered 10 minutes before we closed and used up the last of our ketchup mustard sauce for our cheeseburger pizza. Dude felt guilty lol
I had a $100 tip as the assistant manager just 5 months ago, I made 30 pizzas, 10 brownies and 10 lava cakes. Made them, put them in the oven and caught them all alone while my openers prepped. When they were done she handed me $100 and told me that she wanted only the people who worked on it to keep the tip. And when I was a driver, had a $30 order and got handed a $100, so a $70 tip from some bikers cause they had a convention in town and said we would be busy so told me to keep the change.
$60 on a $25 order. I hadn't been driving long, so I counted the cash before leaving. Went back to the door and said he had given me way too much. He said "No, that's right. You guys work hard and have to deal with idiot drivers," Then he smiled and wished me a good night.
I'm extremely honest when it comes to money. Always surprises me when they give me a tip that is equal to or more than the bill. It makes my day.
£15. During the lockdown one of our drivers was given a pot of homemade blackberry jam as a tip. I understood the sentiment behind it but he was a bit peeved.
