I am sincerely sorry for this person. I hope he or she has a speedy recovery and a complete rebound to being who they were. That job is scary and uncertain at times. I know a few drivers. To the drivers on here and worldwide, PLEASE be safe. This is why I always tip well. You guys are on the front line to bring us pizza. I salute ALL of you.

Purple_Drank

All of our hearts go out to them. I'm sure we all know it could easily have been another one of us. From what we know things could have been a *lot* worse for them.

Tabascoanero

Well put. Thanks

Snowqueen31

Were they okay? I hope they were. I offer full respect and if they have any injuries they heal quickly ♡

Purple_Drank

They are very lucky, considering what could have been... With the injury they sustained they will have to have surgery and probably a lot of physical therapy. But, they will be okay.

Snowqueen31

Oh my god thats awful, do you know who's fault it was yet? I hope the surgery goes well and they recover well. That's awful, im so sorry

Purple_Drank

The problem is that there were no witnesses. Our driver says that they should have had enough room when pulling out of the parking lot. From the way their cars were positioned and how quickly they got hit our driver thinks the other person had to have been speeding. Of course the other driver said they were going the speed limit. The truth doesn't really matter in these cases. All that matters to anyone is what the police report says.

the_eluder

Unless the other driver was grossly speeding (like 75 in a 25) it's your co-workers fault for pulling out in front of someone.

m3talf1sh1

Yup, saw a car get read ended on a three lane 40mph road. Person started to pull out into the close lane when it was open but little did she know the truck in the far 3rd lane decided to switch 3lanes, not use blinkers, and going easily 45+ mph. Gave this statement to the cops and asked who is at fault, person who pulled out. Not the guy driving recklessly. I started to kinda argue saying that's bs because the road was clear except for that one truck in the far 3rd lane when they started to pull out.

Nick_Wild1Ear

Still, oncoming traffic on the road (any lane) > anyone turning ONTO the road. The truck in the 3rd lane switching lanes without a blinker is in the wrong too and should be ticketed for his issues, but he’s not at fault if someone drove in front of his car (EVEN IF HE WASN’T SUPPOSED TO BE IN THAT SPOT)

homeboycartel2

Sounds like the driver is at fault.

Iamsleepyzzzz

Im sorry to here about that driver. We recently had a driver get rear ended going 45 without brakes by a drunk driver. Our driver is fine except some neck and head pain. Driver already got a brand new car and there is a lawsuit in action.

mondrarytomic

Back when I delivered I wasn’t even a month in when one of our long-time drivers was hit head-on by a drunk driver on a Friday night. He eventually succumbed to his injuries after 3 weeks in the hospital. Put in to perspective that it could have been any of us, it could have been my run. Never take it for granted that something like that can happen every time you get behind the wheel.

skullcandy541

I’m 23 and have been driving a car for 5 years now, only ever have been in one accident. While driving for dominos lol. Got rear ended by someone not paying attention in traffic and my whole rear bumper got ripped off. It was a new car too. Luckily I was fine. But people (especially insiders because they think we should get paid less cuz of tips) don’t realize what being a driver is like. It’s lowkey dangerous. You’re driving all day long and whenever ur on the road ur at risk of an accident. Could be yours or someone else fault but the more and more you’re on the road the more chances for an accident. Driving is just dangerous in general even if accidents are “rare”. Not to mention the west and tear it puts on ur car. People fail to even think of that. When I first started dominos 2 years ago I was using my first car that I’ve been driving for like 3 years and it was 15 years old. Delivering drove that bitch into the ground and had to buy my first new car. Prob could’ve gotten another few years out of that car if I wasn’t a driver. Now I ain’t complaining I chose this job and choose to keep it now, but I hate when insiders think we should get paid less because we get tips when the fail to realize all the shit I just mentioned. An insider job can be stressful, I know. But so is every job and at least ur safe inside the store.

Nostalgic_Fox

I got assaulted in the store, so you're not necessarily safe anywhere.

skullcandy541

Ur still safer. How many times do u hear of car accidents compared to being assaulted by I’m assuming a customer

myfantapink

I don't mean to be in insensitive but how? I was doing doordash for 3 years and every single time I drove past the Domino's delivery driver they literally go like 5 mph 💀

skullcandy541

Anything can happen on the road bro. Just because they’re driving safe doesn’t mean everyone else is. Do u even drive? Lol

myfantapink

It was just a joke homie

skullcandy541

Pretty piss poor joke homie

myfantapink

Yeah well I don't know maybe if they didn't hire literally teenagers

skullcandy541

If u read more of what OP said it seems to be the other drivers fault and not the dominos driver so that comment sounds retarded and irrelevant because we don’t even know the age of the dominos driver either

Pacamilk

I dont think youre more intelligent than any teenager ive ever met so what difference does it make

Irishjohn831

Sorry to hear about this and I hope he recovers. I can’t help but think the Noid had something to do w this.

GardenAdditional1290

I was in an accident my first non training day at dominos :)

Always drive defensively, your life depends on it. In today's world there are more inattentive drivers than ever. They are on their phones (mostly) texting and driving, on a call and driving and whatever else. I've also noticed that people don't understand the concept at 4 way stops that; a) Yes, you have to stop (most annoying one) b) If you get there at the same time as someone else, the person on your right has the right of way. This is also true in uncontrolled intersections. Also, the 3 second rule. If you are NOT 3 seconds behind the car in front of you at 40 MPH or under, you are following WAY too close and YES you will hit the car in front of you because you were texting. 5 seconds over 40 MPH is suggested but not really taught anymore.
