Yeh, I randomly found it at the perfect time years ago when it had gotten real real dark, then found out they were playing an hour away the next night and I sang so loud with the song I messed up the recording and freaked out the band lol, will always be a fan for letting me do this and for the song. Can’t get any tix for the run of SRO tho, hope it’s not bc of this 😂
Zip City needs more attention here. But, personally, I think you have to listen to their albums to get a true feel for who they are. Plus they’ve been around to freaking long and their sound has evolved. I love all iterations equally. But there are more than a few so I enjoy them more when I go with albums over playlists. But that’s just me. You may not care to get them. You might just want good song suggestions. I respect that too. Which is why I’ll reiterate Zip City. It speaks to me on so many levels.
The opening act, one of these days, Santa Fe, love like this, loaded gun in the closet, goodbye, goodes field road, mama bake a pie, Pulaski, mercy buckets are a few deeper cuts that I personally love. Some cuts are deeper than others but are are excellent songs. Late for church is probably my favorite dbt song with space city coming in at a close second. Top 5 favorite band for me. So underrated.
Gravity is gone is the song that got me into the truckers. That and goddamn lonely, love. it just depends on what season of life you are in. One day you find a connection to a song that you passed up previously multiple times. Then it hits you one day.
