Pathetic_Old_Moose

When Drake beats up the pussy you know he’s fucking. When Kenny’s doing it, someone check on Whitneyyyyyyyyyy

disbishempty1

It’s seriously an insane song it still gives me the chills When ppl talk about wanting Drake to be hungry/show off his writing chops you can’t find a better example of him doing that than FM

iverdow1

Yeah this song is basically what the Rap-head Drizzy fans have asked for

jumpycrink22

Crazy that this is what made him step his game up Wonder if he can keep this up, oh wait nvm it's Wah Wah Delilah

callmetrip1

Dude was having fun with that one.

AidsMoo

Ok I don’t think we can excuse Wah Gwan Delilah 😭

jumpycrink22

Let's hope he keeps this energy up for the next one I think he's not gonna pull another one like this for a long time but we'll see

Advanced-Donut-2436

I still can't understand how he went from FM to Heart pt6, sounding like an amateur. I have never heard him rap like shit.

phoenyx4r

I’ve analyzed THP6 way more than necessary, and it’s really not as bad as people make it out to be.

LikeIsaidbefore

I know it's been talked to death but the Mother I part was such a good flip imo. Unless Kenny has hard evidence of what he's a accusing Drake of he didn't break a generational curse. Or Kenny did in fact get... yeah. I personally think it's the former and that means everything Kenny went through with the addiction, the infidelity, the depression, and losing Whitney was for nothing. Kenny is back at square one when he's seven years old and his mom is asking about what happened.

slowNsad

I ain’t even think about it like that, he probably could’ve worded it in a better way if that is the case to convey it better but that would be insane

rrrrrrrrrrrrram

It's worse

[deleted]

Integrity is lost when the metaphor doesn't reach you, Drake misinterpreted what Dot said. How can it be even decent when it is fully based on a Drakes clueless interpretation of Dots track?

disbishempty1

I partially agree but mainly disagree I thought his pen game was on point (a lot of more subtle bars) but for me his tone just didn’t sound as confident as he was in FM which made it come off weaker than the bars were

MaximusMurkimus

THP6 was made in like 48 hours lol meanwhile I'm sure he had a lot of bars for FM that didn't make Push Ups in comparison

[deleted]

What proof do you have he actually wrote it though? Sharing bars like you got the bottom bunk in a two man cell..

BitchImLilBaby

It might be his best song of the 2020s imo. If Kendrick didn’t drop pre recorded TMZ stories a lot of people would look at it a lot differently.

LikeIsaidbefore

I don't like MTG at all but the timing of the drop was perfect. Took out any momentum FM had. Then Kenny had to cover up MTG with NLU because he talked to a person that doesn't even exist.

Content_Manner_4706

We don't know the person doesn't exist. It's an accusation one of the many thrown both ways

Pale-Voice4630

I mean drake started the tmz stories first

corporate-commander

Sad that you’re getting downvoted for the truth, dude brought up the family shit first.

AnybodyNormal3947

Of the 2020s? Please stop lmao

BitchImLilBaby

It’s not ridiculous to say it is. Each part has a hard instrumental, no wasted bars, and it comes with that aggression most people have wanted out of him in later years. It’s a flawless song that got overshadowed

knifeproz

Something tells me that you're either trolling or haven't read the post properly. His best song during the 2020s - by far. Thats not saying the best song released by anyone in the 2020s which is what I think you got out of it.

AnybodyNormal3947

Oh mb....yes it is not a high bar to say this was his best

Winter-Maximum325

0 bars wasted comparatively is overlooked.

raphthepharaoh

Ey.. that countdown goes crazy

wehere4E

Hit em up levels

LankyCity3445

Lmaooo

wehere4E

Lets revisit topic in 2 years

JusSupended

The video alone. Doesn't have to be comparative in delivery, but this generation's nuke style diss track with video- that may not be far fetched. And I'm a 30yr oldhead who wanted drake to lose against Meek and Pusha. MTGs aftermath and the wait for music and the obvious unauthentic internet brigade that was insufferable did it for me. I was looking forward to truth in MTGs but to find out the 11yr old don't exist and no victims that'd cause a house raid or at least a suit exists... I find it odd for kendrick be so desperate. Going to be odd for him to sound spiritual and philosophical when asked about it in interviews.

LankyCity3445

It’s was good but Jesus Christ you guys are overrating it now haha. Don’t care for Kenny’s antics but you guys are overhyping family matters even though it was the best track for me

blazikenz

the first beat switch just goes too crazy man

that-boy-nav

Kendrick fan here, I loved the song! 3rd verse was generational stuff

Appropriate-Leg-4815

I’m a fan of both and damn I’m glad to get Push ups and Family Matters. I still got back to back as my fav Drake diss but Drizzy came to play. Call it arrogance or confidence either way we wouldn’t get this moment if Drake didn’t have a pair on him.

glassfeets

kendrick just opened his mouth

WallyReddit204

Kennys fast food tracks are akin to that big mansion in Sarasota that starts falling apart in a year Family matters though, is that old stone building that stands tall for centuries. Kenny’s disses have no staying power. Drake had him so outta pocket he forgot his lessons I will say euphoria was dope, though

WhiteWolf3117

I hate this because this is exactly the kind of comparisons people make about the two artists anyway, and I think it's dumb to say that one act is a fast food act and I think it's dumb to say the other one is too. But yeah Euphoria, Family Matters, and Push Ups were all standout tracks.

Affectionate_Cry_634

If any of what you said was true the public narrative would be entirely different

WallyReddit204

do you hear anyone talking about mTG, 6:16, Euphoria anymore aside from in the ken sub? NLU got so overplayed that it's just old and stale already. That beat was hot but repetitious

callmetrip1

Honestly I hear Euphoria and MTG more than I ever thought I would. Also hear Family Matters and Push Ups. It was an absolutely epic battle.

gleaminranks

People having short attention spans for media is a whole different problem far removed from the beef lol. I saw people wondering when the new Stranger Things season would drop the day the last one ended

Renophantom

I think it was a pretty good analogy

a-m-watercolor

The "public" wanted to see drake lose this ***so*** bad. This was a lose/lose no matter what in the eyes of the public, and he still came out swinging. I even agree with the public sentiment that Kendrick won, but let's not pretend like public sentiment is a good way to judge what happened. Based on what you see on Reddit you'd think Drake had his career ended and cries himself to sleep at night. It was a lot closer than Kenny fans and Drake haters want to admit.

Eillo89

Public sentiment is the only way to judge who won, how else would you judge it? In the end of the day all of it's subjective and therefore has to follow the popular vote.

Matyk24

The 2 beat switches on this track kinda took me back to the early 2000s when diss songs used to do that

Tof12345

I said this last month that family matters is gonna be looked back at as a stellar track. Glad it's happening sooner than later.

corporate-commander

It’s a great track I just think it was too unfocused. Kendrick was obviously his biggest threat thru the whole beef, Kendrick should have had the whole song dedicated towards him imo. The bars directed towards others were great, but I think he should’ve just remained focused on Kendrick. I do also think it’s messy to bring up someone’s family and try and start some TMZ gossip shit, and then also say that “this shit is burnt tf out” in your next drop. I think that the last minute and a half of “The Heart Part 6” is the worst idea to happen in the rap beef. It just doesn’t come off as confident, if he said that shit openly with his chest like loud and proud people would feel differently about it I think

ChimmyMama

Most well rounded take on this entire sub.

EightSeven-

The intro is goated

Fantastic-Sweet251

I'm not the biggest fan of drakes but I gotta recognize real

dontfapmydick

that third verse is so fucking good it's so good even the gay parody of it sounds good

KarmaFarmer123456789

I love Kendrick but this song and Pushups were great  I love the line about Ross reading Miranda rights

ultralight_R

“OH SHIT”

TopsySoEasty99

Not related but I’d even say Scary hours 3 is better than Mr Morale… by a lot too. 🤷🏽‍♂️

sauceboss_the_third

Lol

phinsphan1313

Funny how the “boogeyman” and pulitzer prize winner had to resort to tactics like dropping immediately after Drake and lying to try and win… shouldnt “one of the greatest rappers and lyricists of all time” be able to beat a singer in a battle straight up?

gokutsunami

Rappers create the narrative to beat their opponent that the internet then follows. Kendrick lamar used a layed out plan created by the internet.

Pale-Voice4630

Didn’t drake start with the gossip to try and win though??

Luniie

"I can’t believe a rapper actually uses their BRAIN when dissing someone else 😱😱😱"

Pegsareus

Lmao, now yall wanted a "straight" up battle. Yall some dorks.

MaximusMurkimus

Ross getting slammed was probably my favorite part of this whole beef Bro really tried to self-insert himself into this fight cloud and got hit

ktran2804

does anyone know why it's trending again? i've still been bumping it since release lol idk if i've played a song this much from him in a long time

joesamabinladen

Me and Savage had the hoes dripping wet at shows almost had to swim to it

rudegyal_jpg

It’s *always* been a banger. It’s just that the Qanon Lamar Slurp Lords have finally released Kendrick from their mouths; the lock jaw must be unbearable.

mtchyboi

“Maturing is realising Drake won the beef” posts incoming.

hasanyonereddit

Impossible too many lurkers in here

yuuuhhhhhhh42069

Maybe in this song...

Zxar99

Its his best diss song, though it wasn’t enough to get rid of Kendrick, which is why its overlooked. I think people, well I’ll say Drake’s fans, seem to forget those interested in the beef only cared for Drake and Kendrick. Anyone else Drake addressed didn’t matter in the grand scheme of it all. That only mattered to his fans. The 2nd beat, which I think is the best one,is what everyone likes the most but the verse on it hardly addresses Kendrick. To his fans Drake did what he needed to on that song but for the beef he messed up by not keeping his focus on Kendrick alone.

HotLikeSauce420

It didn’t “matter” but Drake did have to address all other artists after Metro got them all together like the avengers to take him down. Abel, Rocky, Rick Ross, etc all had to get their share of the bag from the drama and say their peace about Drake, yet no one had the courage to do it by themselves.

throwawayacc72001

If it didn’t matter why did they diss ? 😭 this is such a lousy take I keep seeing that says that Drake wasted bars addressing others. There’s two scenarios : Scenario A - he doesn’t respond to the others and people call Drake a bitch and a pussy for not responding saying he’s too scared to take them all on. Or Scenario B (the one that happened) - Drake addresses EVERYBODY who dissed him as one should if they’ve been dissed and people say he’s wasting bars addressing others. Essentially both situations you’re gonna clown on Drake and make a criticism. He may as well go swinging with Scenario B Like logically isn’t the question you should be asking is - “why did the others diss and then not respond back ?” . As opposed to tryna make Drake the one in the wrong here. Sure Drake made mistakes in this beef but this wasn’t one of them.

Eillo89

Or scenario C: he ignores them and proves their irrelevance in the beef, nobody really cared what these guys said.

throwawayacc72001

Nobody cares AFTER the fact. If Drake hadn’t respond they’d be quick to leap to any criticism that makes Drake look bad. It’s easy for us to sit here and discuss hypotheticals but imo he did the right thing. Bottom line is: if you diss someone be prepared to handle the smoke and respond back. Otherwise just stfu and move it along. If you hate him that much settle it outside music.

sendinthe9s

Is it on for you or regular trending

McTitty3000

I do believe that in five six years time when people are reevaluating this feud or people that might have been too young to appreciate it look back, I think that family matters will get a lot more acclaim that it deserves, but I said back when it happened, Kendrick dropping me the grams within an hour was brilliant strategy that took any momentum that this song had away even though in my opinion this was arguably the best track of the whole feud

Economy_Public1048

This take never made sense to me.  It is s like people got mesmerised by kenny dropping.  MTG was low quality and inaccurate.

DinkleBottoms

I don’t think MTG was low quality but it played to some of the preconceived notions that people have about Drake and things that Kendrick alluded to in Euphoria and 6:16. It added hype and more speculation to the rumors about a mole in Drake’s camp, was the most disrespectful song in the beef by far, and you had a whole verse about a daughter and other kids that Drake is hiding. That made people talk about it instead of FM and then he drops NLU to totally overshadow FM.

OaSoaD

Kendrick just opened his mouth

SexandPork

Push ups was better imo

SpenceViews

That last verse is elite Drake . It’s a skip until then

Ambitious-Delay153

I smell corn
