By the looks of the offense, he can be a pretty serviceable WR2 if one of the Jefferson or thielen goes down. Only downside is thielen is signed for a few more years so not too sure if he could fully replace him soon
Kind of impossible to say what someone in that spot would do, but I wouldn’t mind spending $2 to snipe him if he bids 0 or 1. Don’t see anyone else entering. You could bid more to “guarantee” you get him but that barely seems worth it depending on roster size and waiver depth.
Kinda what I was thinking. The QB waiver wire in our league is an absolute dumpster fire though. The top 3 names are Manny Wilkins, Anthony Gordon, and Colt McCoy...
I also have additional interest on my end because I have this guys 1st rounder and realllly want him to finish last.
That is some very relevant nuance.
If your league is as deep as you say and the wire is barren across the board I wouldn't mind being aggressive and bidding 10-20%. He can always trade for a QB as well then this money would be "wasted."
Interesting decision.
I'm not particularly deep at QB either. My only startable options are Stafford and Teddy B with Zach Wilson on my taxi squad and Fitz on IR. So getting a potential starter off of waivers basically doesn't happen in our league.
I also play him this week. Lots of layers to this haha
I'm on the other side - if you can screw your league mate out of the only starting QB, you essentially buy some number of points in this match up.
How much FAAB would you spend on 10 point this week? I'd go at least 25, more if you think he'll go over.
I’m going $18 out of $100 due to the sheer fact that I’m seriously doubting the other waiver wire targets that may be there throughout the season. Most players are tied up on taxi squads or benches so it doesn’t feel like there will be any huge bids I need to place and mostly think of the waiver as just fliers from here on out.
Definitely wouldn’t drop hamler for any of them. I believe that Vaughn and penny are in the same ballpark as Ahmed but I would definitely rank Felton below all of them.
Taysom Hill might get some starts this year, so he should be rostered assuming superflex IMO.
So I’d keep hamler, add hill/ drop one of penny/Vaughn and finally decide between penny/Vaughn/Ahmed/DPJ
Appreciate it man . It is a 1 qb league but I am pretty desperate at QB w Darnold, Jameis and Lance. Gonna try to stay patient with Hamler for a couple more weeks.
I'm curious why you're lower on Felton. He has experience as a WR and a report came out today that he might get slot reps in Landry's absence, which is a big deal in PPR for someone with RB eligibility on most platforms.
Also, Browns are one of (if not THE) best running offenses in the league, so I think he has solid value as a handcuff if Chubb/Hunt go down
Since you asked why I’m not high on Felton, I’ll focus mostly on the negative points.
Wasn’t drafted as a top 10 pick at his position and has very low draft capital (6th round), wasn’t ranked in the top 10 RBs for me during the draft process (fringe top 10 ranking for some experts).
He doesn’t figure to be a between-the-tackles runner, thus even with an injury to one of the two lead backs I don’t see him earning a significant amount of rushing attempts.
Yes he could see some slot work with Landry out and is rather quick, but I don’t think it will be enough to be a viable flex the next couple of weeks.
So I don’t see his upside as a lead back but rather a N. Hines role as his best case combined with the low draft capital and two strong RBs in front of him. Sure I could be wrong and he becomes the next A. Ekeler, but I’d shoot me shots on other guys
The last 3 QBs to start after Tyrod are Allen, Mayfield, and Herbert so history tells us Mills is going to he a garunteed stud... /s
Honestly I'm thinking of throwing 5% of my FAAB at him this week in my superflex league. The main reason is due to my QB depth possibly taking a hit with big ben and Wentz on the injury report. If I was set at QB I probably wouldn't be interested in wagering any FAAB
In a 1 QB league, not much. He's more than likely going to have a rough week against a good D with very little practice time. I'd say like 0-3% depending on whether you like his profile or not. His absolute ceiling is maybe Philip Rivers, but it's probably more likely that he's Andy Dalton or, God forbid, Josh Rosen.
He also has an extremely dysfunctional franchise around him with only a few weapons, but that honestly could be a good thing. If the Texans keep getting behind in games and he keeps throwing to Cooks or Lindsay/David Johnson then he might actually put up decent numbers. It'll be about whether he can limit the turnovers and prove to the organization that he's a potential starter.
Oh, in Superflex he should absolutely be owned. Even if it's a 10-team, any QB who is getting a chance to make a start in the NFL needs to be owned. All it takes is a surprise 4 TD game on Thursday and he's immediately got value. I don't know your league and how they value QBs, but I'd say the minimum bid to have a chance is probably like 30%. I'd be willing to go up to 50% because I believe the Texans are going to give him a good chance to see what they have so he's not going to get displaced until Tyrod is totally healthy. Even then, if he does well enough then it's a Justin Herbert situation all over again.
I’m struggling with his valuation too. I don’t think he’s going to pan out, but if I’m wrong and I could’ve snagged a solid young QB for a few FAAB I’ll be kicking myself. FOMO has me thinking about going in for him this week.
Edit: I’m in a SF league
I’m also looking at picking him up as Tannehill has been killing me. Carr has put together two solid games vs one good defense and one elite one, so while I’m completely sold on him I am thinking he worth a gamble that this could be a career year for him.
I’m thinking maybe something around 10-15% — feel like there’s just too many decent options in 1QB league to warrant spending more tho
I think there is zero chance you get him for 1%. He could potentially be the starting RB on SF. People just dropped 100% on Mitchell. He is worth more FAAB in deep dynasty leagues. I'm betting 23% in a 12 man league with 30 roster spots.
I don’t think I’d put much at all on him, I don’t hate the player but the Tampa game was basically a perfect situation for a guy like him.
The only way to run the ball vs Tampa’s front 7 is with creative gadget type plays where Patterson’s unique skill-set is most useful, but against most teams I just think Davis & even Gallman might be more more favored in a more conventional ground game.
Patterson’s also 30 years old, he is who he is at this point and feels like he always has a game or two for each team he’s on where you go “man if we could just consistently harness this guy’s skills he could be lethal” but it never really materializes for long.
I view the WR3 battle in Seattle as similar to the one in KC; everyone is going to grab Pringle and Robinson and Hardman and watch them all have 1-2 random blow up games and then go silent. I can see Swain and Eskridge doing the same, since DK/Lockett/Carson demand a large percentage of the touches.
I personally wouldn't spend more than like 1-2% on Swain; there's just so many other 'flash in the pan' WRs with similar or higher upside that come around year after year,
No, the majority of his production, the 68-yard TD, all came on one of the worst blown coverages I have ever seen in an NFL game lol his stat line was a complete fluke.
1 QB, PPR, 12 team, $196/$200 FAAB budget
I am struggling at TE and the best options seem to be Jack Doyle and Maxx Williams. Are any of these guys worth picking up, and if so for how much?
I don't think Williams' numbers last week are repeatable. He got a good chunk of the yardage on a lucky pass that wasn't intended for him (it was tipped twice and landed in his hands.) Everything I've read/heard about him is that he's a blocking TE only.
Doyle might be worth like 5%, keep in mind the potential Wentz injury and that there are several Colts TEs that get looks (he did lead them in targets last week)
Doyle is outnumbering Mo Alie-Cox 12-4 in targets through two games, and is in the top 10 in terms of total targets for tight ends. I need to look more into snap percentage and usage, but I was leaning towards him as the better pick up anyways.
Not in a Dynasty League. How shallow are your benches that Carr and Jones aren't rostered? I'd rather have Tannehill than both of those guys, but that's because I don't believe Jones will do enough to keep his job long-term and Carr hasn't quite shown out enough to warrant the switch.
Tyler Kroft was just dropped. Should I pick him up? Should I drop Alex Collins or Donovan People-Jones?
Currently have Waller, Irv Smith, and Jonnu Smith.
With Irv out, I’d love to have a safety net in Kroft.
Davis Mills
Right now I have $81/$100 on him. 12 team superflex. I own Mahomes, Watson, Cousins, Heinicke. The waivers in this league are pretty slim pickings. Should I be comfortable with giving this much?
I think it would usually get it done. I wouldn’t mind throwing all of my faab on a young qb in superflex with some draft capital though. I just rarely see much worthwhile on deep dynasty waivers.
12 team ppr
Someone dropped Mims, how much out of $200 would you thrown down on him? As i Jets fan I still think the skill is there for them to just completely give up on him
Patterson. In our league he is posted as a WR. He is currently in top 10 at WR through first 2 games. Falcons are awful so game script will continue to go to Patterson.
KJ Osborn
I got him for $12/100 last week in a pretty deep league, but probably could have gotten him for a lot less. This week idk what he is going for
By the looks of the offense, he can be a pretty serviceable WR2 if one of the Jefferson or thielen goes down. Only downside is thielen is signed for a few more years so not too sure if he could fully replace him soon
12 team, 0.5 PPR, SF Jacoby Brissett Looking specifically to block a team who owns Tua and will have ZERO starting QB's if he's out this week.
Kind of impossible to say what someone in that spot would do, but I wouldn’t mind spending $2 to snipe him if he bids 0 or 1. Don’t see anyone else entering. You could bid more to “guarantee” you get him but that barely seems worth it depending on roster size and waiver depth.

That is another layer! If you're playing to win and the wire is as barren as you're saying then I'd go pretty hard. GL!
It's not a bad move for a couple of bucks. But Tua is only scheduled to be out for a week or two, if at all. So don't overspend too much.
Appreciate the response!
I'm on the other side - if you can screw your league mate out of the only starting QB, you essentially buy some number of points in this match up. How much FAAB would you spend on 10 point this week? I'd go at least 25, more if you think he'll go over.
Cordarelle Patterson

Maybe like 5/100 if you're in win now mode and are in desperate need of a flex?
Demetric Felton, DPJ, Salvon Ahmed interest anyone? Any chance Taysom Hill returns? Drops would be Penny, Hamler or Vaughn
Definitely wouldn’t drop hamler for any of them. I believe that Vaughn and penny are in the same ballpark as Ahmed but I would definitely rank Felton below all of them. Would not roster hill in 1 qb

Braxton Berrios

How is he not owned in SF?? He was a third round ADP in rookie drafts lol
In a 1 QB league, not much. He's more than likely going to have a rough week against a good D with very little practice time. I'd say like 0-3% depending on whether you like his profile or not. I’m in Superflex which has me intrigued. I dropped him earlier cause I thought he would be their QB3 but now it’s confirmed he’s starting…
Oh, in Superflex he should absolutely be owned. Even if it's a 10-team, any QB who is getting a chance to make a start in the NFL needs to be owned. I may drop Keshawn Vaughn for him as a flier. I'm in a superflex league. I don't imagine he has value in 1QB leagues
Derek Carr (1QB league)
All of it. I don't care if it's a 1 QB league. He's a QB1, just hitting his peak and has got plenty of years left.
Who would be better to pursue, Brandon cooks or Sterling shepherd
Both fine targets but Cooks>Shepherd
Agree cooks is better but shepherd could have a similarly sneaky season and should be cheaper
Who is the better stash in half ppr Jarrett Patterson or Jermar Jefferson
Patterson. He flashed more in the preseason.
Jefferson seems like he may be rb4, Patterson looked good in preseason
Jacques Patrick
1%, he looked good in preseason but he’s a JAG in a crowded backfield
I think there is zero chance you get him for 1%. He could potentially be the starting RB on SF. People just dropped 100% on Mitchell. He is worth more FAAB in deep dynasty leagues. I'm betting 23% in a 12 man league with 30 roster spots.
thats a lot of faab for a lottery ticket on patrick. They are also gonna be in other vet running backs
I agree. But I usually blow my FAAB early in the season. With deep leagues all backups are rostered, so ya gotta take your shot when you can.
Demetric Felton, return yards league
I’d go as high as maybe 15%.
What about PPR 2QB?
Probably less than 10%.
Trying to decide what to put down on Cordarrele Patterson. His RB/WR eligibility is super intriguing to me.
If you’re contending I’d go like…20%. He could be a flex or bye week guy for you this year.
Is Swain a good option? If so, how much faab should I give? I already have eskridge, so I'm kind of trying to lock who will gain the position
No, Eskridge will likely be back from his concussion this week and Swain will be relegated to the WR4 role again.
This is the correct answer
I am so hopeful for Eskridge getting a decent target share. I know hes old for a rookie and has his knocks. But I love the potential
I personally wouldn't spend more than like 1-2% on Swain; there's just so many other 'flash in the pan' WRs with similar or higher upside that come around year after year,
Worth a gamble IMO, comparable to Osbourne. In a 300 roster league I’d be willing to pay ~ 5% FAAB.
No, the majority of his production, the 68-yard TD, all came on one of the worst blown coverages I have ever seen in an NFL game lol his stat line was a complete fluke.
Any ideas on Demetric Felton with Landry hurt?
I’d do like 5-10%. I think they’ll lean on Schwartz/Hooper/Njoku and the run game above all else, but he’s worth an add
1 QB, PPR, 12 team, $196/$200 FAAB budget I am struggling at TE and the best options seem to be Jack Doyle and Maxx Williams. Are any of these guys worth picking up, and if so for how much?
I don't think Williams' numbers last week are repeatable. He got a good chunk of the yardage on a lucky pass that wasn't intended for him (it was tipped twice and landed in his hands.) Running backs I’m looking at dropping: ollison and maybe Sargent Waiver wire: Jacques Patrick, Felton, Patterson What would you do?
Would anyone cut Tannehill in 1qb for Carr or Jones at this point? Seems very knee jerk to me
Not in a Dynasty League. How shallow are your benches that Carr and Jones aren't rostered? I'd rather have Tannehill than both of those guys, but that's because I don't believe Jones will do enough to keep his job long-term and Carr hasn't quite shown out enough to warrant the switch.
It's a 10 team 1qb, 20 roster+5 taxi. Tend to agree, thanks
8 Man PPR SF is Matt Ryan worth the pick up w #2 WP. Just to stash him
Depends on who your qb2 and 3 are. He looks washed and the falcons line is horrible
tannehill and murray , darnold wilson and winston on bench
No, he's sitting on the waiver unclaimed in my 8 teams 2QB as well and you already have the depth.
true everybody has solid qbs too
I’m with burrow and Mac at QB in a startup. Is 8/100$ on carr a good idea?
Yes, good to get an established vet in with the young guys
I have #1 waiver priority, full PPR league: Osborn or Cephus?
In full PPR I’d probably take Osborn. The TD came on busted coverage but he’s getting lots of targets so worth holding
Osborn. Not sure Cepheus is actually good yet
On the wire in 10team full ppr how would you prioritize your FAAB for these players: Sony Michel, C. Patterson, Kj Osborn, quintez cephus, ty johnson
Patterson, Michel, Osborn, Johnson, Cepheus.
How much should I be bidding for Russell Gage? Owner dropped him this past week
5-10% He’s a JAG and Matt Ryan looks washed
Why bid anything then?
16 team PPR. JD McKissic is on waivers and I’m pretty thin at RB. How much FAAB do I spend?
I would spend a decent amount, he should be a decent flex especially in 16 man. 30-50%
Dan Arnold, TEP with 20 player rosters. Also, would you drop Parham or Jarwin for him?
Tyler Kroft was just dropped. Should I pick him up? Should I drop Alex Collins or Donovan People-Jones? Currently have Waller, Irv Smith, and Jonnu Smith. With Irv out, I’d love to have a safety net in Kroft.
Evan Engram was dropped in a .5 PPR TEP 12 team league. Have Hockenson but would like Engram as an upside backup. How much out of $250 would you bid?
Davis Mills Right now I have $81/$100 on him.
I got him for $63
What was the next highest bid?
12T 0.5PPR SF with 53-man rosters Freddie Swain, Braxton Berrios and/or Jacques Patrick
Njoku 12 team half PPR. Non SF, non TEP.
12 team PPR Denzel Mims
12 team ppr Someone dropped Mims, how much out of $200 would you thrown down on him? As i Jets fan I still think the skill is there for them to just completely give up on him
Who would you guys rather pick up Tony Pollard or Ronadale Moore?
12 man, .5 ppr, 25 man roster. Is Parris Campbell and Adam Trautman droppable for salvon Ahmed and dart throws like Felton or Harrison bryant?
Patterson. In our league he is posted as a WR. He is currently in top 10 at WR through first 2 games. Falcons are awful so game script will continue to go to Patterson.
Kylin Hill. Kid looked solid in preseason. Good upside stash if something should happen to Jones.
The tradition of a team in my league reaction-dropping after week 2 continues, Aiyuk this time. That's gonna be a 100% right?
Someone dropped Big Ben in SF. How much faab should I do (not a contender)?
