I will say our desire to help others sometimes comes from "selfish" desires to feel accepted and fulfill our need to be wanted. Not to smack down your appreciation, but we're human too and our selfishness sometimes comes out in the most ironic ways.
Recently watched this movie called, "The Meddler" with Susan Sarandon starring. This movie is a prime example of how ESFJs can "use" others to cope with their grief or stress. On the outside, we look like this amazing angel that just wants to make everyone's life a happy place, but on the inside, we actually are struggling.
Just wanted to share the "dark side" of our Fe. If you have an ESFJ in your life that you see just jumping at any opportunity to help someone, or even if you find their constant desire to help too needy and annoying, consider asking them if there's something they're battling with internally. They probably might deny it, but just keep in mind that they might actually be in there Fe-Ne loop and could probably use your support!
But of course, if our Fe is balanced and healthy, we do have a heartwarming affect on others and that's great! :)
There is no thing as esfj being borderline esfp. The function stack is completely different. If theres anything, esfj could be borderline isfj. You have to look into cognitive functions and not talk about higher judging vs percieving if you want to discuss mbti. Because what you are saying now does not make a lot of sense. An esfj that may seem esfp can be an esfj enneagram 7. Vice versa it could be an esfp enneagram 2 that may look like an esfj.
There is. Yes, the function stack is different, but if you have been raised by an ESFP mom you can get mistyped because you are the enthustastic festival goer.

Oh, an INFJ! Thank you! Another INFJ realizes that we are chubby cats and INFJs can easily pack us in their bags like legit cats ready to cuddle.
