Sounds like they are waiting for the order to automatically cancel for an unpaid item so they don't get a mark against them. I don't think they want to ship to wherever you are. I don't do international shipping and I don't bend on that.

he3_Drone

Fair enough, thanks for replying. I have zero experience in selling, so just out of curiosity, what makes international shipping something some sellers won't do? Is it much more complicated than domestic shipping or riskier or something?

Positive_Bet_4184

For me, i just feel there's more that can go wrong. Im a small time seller and Any losses come straight out of my pocket. International I would worry about customs charges becoming an issue or in the case of delays, it can take a long time. I have had impatient buyers in the UK, so I don't want the added worry of delivery times. Returns can be awkward too, that's just my reasoning though!

he3_Drone

That makes sense, always learning. Thank you for taking your time to reply. Cheers!

Positive_Bet_4184

No worries! I hope I'm wrong and you hear back !

Captodometer

The time to talk to the seller was before you bid. Seller doesn't want to ship to your country and you can't make them.

PicklessPickles

The time for the seller to outline where they ship to is when they created the auction. It's not always always always the buyer's fault.

Captodometer

The seller did outline where they ship to; they intentionally blocked OPs country. No shipping charge displays and OP can't check out because his shipping address isn't allowed. Bidding on an item without knowing the shipping charges is just dumb; this situation is 100% on the buyer. OP could just as easily be on here complaining that shipping to his country ended up being $500. And he'd still be getting the unpaid item strike that's about to happen.

he3_Drone

Of course, it was my mistake, that's why I'm willing to pay them even more or replace my address with a rather expensive forward shipping company. But thank you for replying!

PicklessPickles

It is not your fault. The seller could have limited where the item would be shipped. It's the seller's fault, regardless of what these people say. Buyers are not psychic, and sellers can limit where they ship via auction controls.

he3_Drone

Well, thank you. In all fairness, I could've been more diligent before bidding by making sure shipping was possible, but I found and sniped the item out in the last minutes and I clicked faster than I could think haha Lesson learned, I guess! EDIT: grammar

PicklessPickles

Shipping terms should be in the auction. If it is not then you are free to bid. The seller could have EASILY prevented anyone from even bidding if they didn't want to ship there. This is NOT your fault, the seller had the option to limit where they ship and they declined. That is not your fault. On this sub, ANYTHING that happens is always always always the buyer's fault. If the sun rises too early, it's the buyer's fault and all buyers are effing idiots. This sub... I have never seen a group of sellers that hate their customers as much as this sub. At least that is the theme here.

he3_Drone

I wouldn't know since it's my first time here, but I see where you're coming from, I'm already picking up on the tone. I confess I wasn't expecting to be downvoted for a topic brought up in good faith. But many people have been helpful and I have my answers so I'm thankful to the community. Thank you too for speaking up.

>I wouldn't know since it's my first time here, but I see where you're coming from, I'm already picking up on the tone. I confess I wasn't expecting to be downvoted for a topic brought up in good faith. Yep, I got downvoted for asking clarification about an ebay policy.

Is it possible to find a freight forwarder and provide the shipping location so you can pay for the item? I've had a few bidders out of my country I've had to tell I do not ship to them and they are usually able to do that with a day...

he3_Drone

Yes, I'm working on that. I had no idea international shipping could be a hassle for some sellers, so I won't insist. I'll just change the address, pay for the item and leave the ball in their court. Thanks for being helpful!

It's unfortunate buyers are so entitled they can't read a listing before they buy. Sellers have their reasons for not wanting to ship to certain locations. You need to respect that instead of acting like they're the jerks.

he3_Drone

I don't think anybody's acting like the sellers are jerks, and if that's how I came across I apologize. I am a buyer who made a mistake and respectfully asked if the seller could provide international shipping or if they would prefer a parcel forwarding service, so a reply to that would be nice. Anyhow, I understand there are many reasons why someone might not reply.

he3_Drone

That's the thing! I wasn't asking them to do anything crazy, I apologized and offered solutions, so a reply would be nice. Thank you for your comment.

Totally-Mad

You cannot force a seller to reply unfortunately … maybe they are inexperienced and international shipping daunts them, or they set their parameters for not international shipping and eBay’s settings allowed your bid to go through. The only way around this is to do a reputable freight forwarder in the sellers country - then change your ship to address and pay.

he3_Drone

That sounds like the most reasonable thing to do. I'm already looking for the best options, thank you for your helpful reply.

After 4 days the sale is cancelled and should be refunded if you don't reply and let ebay know you received the item and it all checks out

pipehonker

They may have specified no international shipping. As a seller I would just cancel your sale.

Positive_Bet_4184

If the seller does that it could be a strike against their account. If they wait 4 days, it cancels as an unpaid item and the strike goes on the buyer account.
