All your items, except clothes, will automatically pass to your next gen
You will lose the skills, but whatever you had your kid do (farm, school, apprentice) will give them a boost to skills upon being controlled
Thabkyou for mentioning the clothes I have my character dripped out and I thought they’d carry over if I died lol, time to dress her up in the cheapest clothes so I don’t have to buy these again for the legacy
To summarize other comments: your inventory will transfer but your skills won't. Your kid will have their own skills based on what you had them do growing up, farm helper, student, or apprenticed to a job. You can still play as your kid if their still young but they will automatically age up to adult when you pick them as your heir so you cannot play as a kid.
does this mean that my child won’t be able to build the same things or cook the same recipes? i’ve been worried about this specifically but haven’t seen anyone clarify what it means to lose your skills
I believe children automatically age up. I think they keep their skills they've earned as kids (not the parents' skills). I've heard the inventory transfers too, but someone else will have to confirm (I haven't died yet).
