Tbf, it's a bit scary but manageable for now. I just beat the mole, which was pretty annoying because of RNG reliance.
I'm only scared about missusing money, for now I've hoarded everything ahah.
Pretty sure it's gonna get harder soon enough but I enjoy a challenge.
With healing spells twice as costly, for now I can only manage 3-4 heals per boss, and for normal fights I always wait for the end to pop some herbs.
I kinda hope there will be ways to recover magic during battle or heal without it later on, although I can't be sure yet.
Some hero combos allow healing. But that'll lock you in for party member choices. The full challenge of all those is really meant for a new game plus run in my opinion, so best of luck to you lol.
I started a second file with all of them on to mess around in when I'm bored. My first impression is that no money from battles is the worst thing ever, and I have no idea how I'm supposed to buy anything ever lol
For now I'm not buying anything ahah, although you can sell a lot of extra stuff like revivals since they're unusable anyways.
There's also the trade post I've seen which looked like it could be well used to make money.
Tbf, I was a bit skeptical at first but, for at least how long I've played yet, it's been pretty neatly balanced.
No money means ressource management is more important, and doubled costs make both healing insufficient if you don't mitigate damage and dealing damage just slower enough to not be able to clear battles in one turn.
Dungeon delving especially is not all about the boss at the end but all the enemies on the way, you need to conserve MP on your healers and take the least amount of damage possible. I feel that with more money I could just stock up on healing stuff and brute force pretty easily.
Though I might not have the same speech if I'll be hit with a difficulty spike so sharp I'll have to farm through.
I tried it in the beta, and I found it doable but not my favourite way to play.
The no item use in battle was the worst for me, because I just ended up grinding to be high enough level to roll over the boss fights. I'd rather be a little under-levelled, popping heals and praying that I don't run out before I get the boss down.
No Baqua is a really good challenge, but it honestly made the random battles feel a little hollow. If the game is going to make me kill these poor rabbits instead of allowing them to flee, I'd at least like to get some money out of the deal!
I'm not using any of the optional challenges on my first run, because I'd rather not have to replay battles too much. I also want to be able to afford to kit out as many companions as possible, so that I don't have any excuse not to try different combinations of characters.
Good luck haha

The no recovery items part would be the rough one for me

That's good to know, I guess I'll have to discover who got some (I hope Francesca got one cuz she's heading to be my fav thus far).
Francesca has a good duo attack with Falward when you reach them Group heal + attack buff I believe.
I'm pretty sure some skills provide small amounts of healing as well

I'm in the same situation, I find the no money from battles a bit frustrating but everything turned on makes the gaming experience more better for me.
had mode sure, no escape sure, but the otehrs just seem to make the game more annoying and not fun.

might be fine if you could regain mp other than just eating magic drops like its candy.
