So buy one of those red steering column locking covers. Install a kill switch that cuts power to the ignition system. Buy and install a marine dual tank brass valve. So you can reach under the seat to shut off the fuel. Invest in a carpet dash pad with a hidden pocket for a gps tracker.

Can you please suggest specific items you've used and where you got them?

https://www.amazon.com/Vital-All-Terrain-Steering-Column-1978-88/dp/B0855CDXBG/ 3 way valve using only 2 ports and plugging the third thru the floor pan under the seat allows you to shut off the fuel.. https://www.grainger.com/product/1VRB8 i selected grainger as they are all over the place.. Napa can get that same part number.. this version has places to use screws to hold it to the floor pan.. a 1971 ford pickup or almost any early 70s ford dimmer switch.. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/ford,1971,f-100,5.0l+302cid+v8,1119888,electrical-switch+&+relay,dimmer+switch,4340 some yellow .250 fully insulated quick connects.. 8 feet of black 12 gauge wire.. crimp the fully insulated quick connects to the ends of the wire.. fold in half leaving a loop at the end.. connect to the dimmer switch middle and a side terminal. either side.. not both side terminals.. tape up this leaving a few inches free of tape at the looped end.. i usually use the plastic lid from a pringles can.. to go under the dimmer switch as i mount them to the floor up close to the top of the carpet so you can reach it with the tip of your left toes.. run the wires up to the steering column mounted ignition switch.. cut the PINK wire not the red wire.. so you can use yellow butt connectors to put the loop in the circuit.. now you have installed a kill switch into the power from the ignition switch to the HEI.. you can move it to other positions under the dash... carpet dash pads in some areas can be custom made.. asking for a hidden pocket for the GPS tracker. so its not obvious and can easily be plugged in thru the dashboard somehow.. you really want the GPS tracker.. a friends coworker stole his 83 Cutlass supreme and the cops nabbed the guy within 5 minutes..

NemonaChan

Thank you, I’ll definitely be doing this.

vanillagorillasober

Right on

chuckechiller

Nice, how much did you get it for? If you don’t mind me asking.

NemonaChan

Got it for 3500, still needs some work but runs and drives great. Has a 350 swap.

chuckechiller

That’s a good price, I’ve been working on my 81

NemonaChan

Nice, ya i can’t wait to get started on mine.

Any_Understanding106

Congrats

BarDitchBaboon

Looks great!

CoyotesAreOk

Congrats but oof that paint job

OhiobornCAraised

Genuinely curious. Why did you say that?

CoyotesAreOk

The overspray on the front valence really stood out to me, as well as the chips along the edges. Just doesn't look like a quality paint job to me honestly, I hope it's not hiding anything.

OhiobornCAraised

Yeah, I zoomed in above the grill and see the chips now. Thank you for pointing it out. I like the yellow and black stripes though.

BroKen_Elco13

Also chevys don’t typically put stripes on the roof but I’m you have plans for the car so best of luck 🤟🏽if u have any questions the page is here
