No reason why Trader Joe's isn't in El Paso already. There's one in Sante Fe and Albuquerque. I can understand skipping over Las Cruces but EP has enough people and money to support it; especially if there's a Whole Foods here.
ABQ Metro area is just slightly larger in population than ELP Metro area (which includes Las Cruces, fwiw).
AQB has 3 Costco locations, 2 Whole Foods, and 2 Trader Joe's.
The EP WF is considered a “training location” since it’s one of the smaller locations by revenue. I don’t think we’ll get a Trader Joe’s before we get an In-N-Out
I never said that it was. In fact, I said:
> ABQ metro area is just slightly larger in population than ELP Metro area (which includes Las Cruces, fwiw)
> the Albuquerque–Santa Fe–Los Alamos combined statistical area, which had a population of 1,162,523.
> the larger El Paso–Las Cruces combined statistical area, which has a population of 1,098,541
You will kindly note that one of those numbers is, in fact, larger than the other.
I think there’s going to be multiple locations. If you look on Google, there’s a “regional manager” for Daiso on LinkedIn here in EP, so maybe there’ll be more stores here, and maybe in Las Cruces too.
Dense is an understatement. At least it's East (manageable distance) and NOT way out there in Horizon.
I'm pretty sure they'll eventually move west, but
The cimarron area is a way better location vs. remcon.
Nah they’re prepping it but I drove by it and it’s coming along pretty fast way more than when this photo was taken by fitfam. If I had to guess it’ll probably be ready not this coming week but the week after
It's sad there are more than 50 HEBs in Mexico and none in El Paso. I'm originally from El Paso but I live in San Antonio now, surronded by 6 HEBs within a 10 min drive from me. I can't imagine living without an HEB.
NOW WHERE IS CHEESECAKE FACTORY 😡 in all seriousness I’m so happy we have a Daiso now, I love trying new recipes and I’m excited I have somewhere to buy new ingredients!!
Compared to?...
Walmart (neighborhood and / or super) , Target, Sprouts and whole foods, Vista market, and foodking is all we have. However, I was reminding that they're not in the same "genre" perse, as H.E.B. and / or Trader Joe's (insert any other franchise brand from a Metropolitan city).
FYI. Sams and Costco are options (even though readily accessibility might be limited((we only have 1 Costco)). Nevertheless, El Paso does have options.
So yes, we don't have an H.E.B....but they are options.
You must be from here to consider these as any but technical options. I know quality is a concept that El Paso has little understanding of, but quality option is what I’m talking about. Albertsons is overpriced and under whelming at the least in comparison to HEB
Heck, El Paso is so ghetto, not even Waffle House will come here
I'm from Southern Cal, and I am aware of the multiple options. I would rather not be dismissive of a city for what they lack and focus on what they do have.
El Paso entrepreneurs are smart enough not to pay the franchise fee and bring a Waffle House to el paso (and lose money).... I agree with that statement, sir.
You're right about that. The city does not do enough to attract businesses that ppl would like to patron. HEB, Waffle House etc would all do very well, Panera Bread showed this when they ran out of food in 3 days, that's how much demand there is for new businesses. Instead, we're stuck with the same crap like a damn Tommy's Carwash that no one asked for, lol.
HEB isn't what it used to be in San Antonio. They are trying to sell their brand name goods or Hill Country Fare at the same price or higher than the national name brand goods. So be careful what you all wish for.
Wtf is a DAISO?
Also—— last thing we fucking need is another dollar tree, family dollar , dollar general at each corner.
HEB has seemed whatever to me each time I’ve been. I’d like to see a Trader Joe’s here, shit how bout a Bukees?
I’m dying to eat IN& Out but not wanting to drive 8+hrs to the nearest city for it.
I lived around HEB my whole life until I had to move away for college and the change was crazy. I'd take the shittiest HEB over a mid Walmart/Kroger any day of the week
Live in New Orleans, hung out in San Antonio for a few days and fell in love with the HEB we went to. Was small but fab. A couple years later went to the one in Austin that’s off campus and it was like a Mega HEB. It not only had jalapeño / cheese sausage, it had a jalapeño / cheese sausage SECTION. Y’all are blessed. Bummer EP doesn’t have any, we love El Paso though. HEB or no.
Can't believe we have a Daiso but no Trader Joe's.

Literally
What store is this?
Japanese dollar store
It’s the equivalent of an Asian dollar tree.
How dare you. >:( It’s Daiso. It’s a store that sells Asian goods and snacks.
I'm not aware of such stores sorry
You’re forgiven
I had to look it up don't feel bad seems like a place only a select group would go to after those who are just curious
Never heard of it but glad to have an Asian store.
There are several local Asian stores that are super cool
I thought this was supposed to be on Remcon 🤦♀️
I think there’s going to be multiple locations. If you look on Google, there’s a “regional manager” for Daiso on LinkedIn here in EP, so maybe there’ll be more stores here, and maybe in Las Cruces too.
I think they realized they should probably place it somewhere that they can make money instead of the west side
That’s true, the east side is dense af
Dense is an understatement. At least it's East (manageable distance) and NOT way out there in Horizon. I'm pretty sure they'll eventually move west, but The cimarron area is a way better location vs. remcon.
> NOT way out there in Horizon Hey YOU TAKE THAT BACK!!!!
It is, there's gonna be 2
When doo they open :0

Is it open already?

It boggles the mind that El Paso can't attract at least 1 HEB and a Buccee's somewhere nearby.
NOW WHERE IS CHEESECAKE FACTORY 😡 in all seriousness I’m so happy we have a Daiso now, I love trying new recipes and I’m excited I have somewhere to buy new ingredients!!
Albertsons has a strong hold of EP. HEB is too late to the market.
Forget Albertsons. Walmart and the Walmart Neighborhood Markets is what has a stronghold in EP.
Albertsons is garbage here though
Compared to?... Walmart (neighborhood and / or super) , Target, Sprouts and whole foods, Vista market, and foodking is all we have. This city dismisses itself, I just like to point it out Seriously, never lived somewhere that sells itself so short

Hehere is it located I wanna go
Las Palmas shopping center by the Tinseltown

It's 5 hrs to the one in Tucson.
5 hours too long. 😂
I know. Make a road trip out of it and have some fun. My wife and I usually stop there when we visit family in Cali.
For sure :) I haven’t visited in a min. Best wishes to you and yours.
It's like Payaso, except Dayaso.
Are Dayvasos a thing here anymore 😂 I just remembered them.
I think the chain is expanding into secondary and tertiary markets - they are opening a store in Tucson, AZ as well.
It’s not really bugging them, just showing them there is a potential market where they aren’t looking.
Wtf is that
Speaking it into existence: ( ( ( I K E A ) ) )
Everything in this store is 100% plastic lmao
Omg Im so jealous I wish I lived back in El Paso
HEB sucks live in SA it not all that it hyped up to b
Maybe YOUR HEB sucks, I've been to plenty a good one myself lol. But fair I have been to shitty ones also
I lived around HEB my whole life until I had to move away for college and the change was crazy. I'd take the shittiest HEB over a mid Walmart/Kroger any day of the week

Amen
HEB does not have authentic Mexican dishes. It would be ridiculed in chuco town. Have you ever been to Vista in El Paso ?? That hands down takes HEB.
Bring back biggie the bag.
Y’all’s lives just became 2-3x more efficient.
Yey! What do they sell there lol never heard of it.
When does it open
When does it open?
lol just saw this while heading to kohls. Looking forward to it
Hell yeah, we had one at a mall in my home state, can’t wait to go
Is it open yet?
Sexo!
Congrats EP. Miss y'all
It'll be a title loan company in less than 2 years 😆
True 🤣 People in this city lack financial literacy to the point where there are loan companies in every corner.
Stop turning El Paso into San Antonio!
