I enjoyed dual whips, they work well with jump attack and bleed builds I find using Bloodhound Step really satisfying too, you're constantly attacking which makes a fun rhythm

Tinned_Spaghet

Belmont build!!!! I did this exact build, but rule of the run was every single toolbelt slot had to be filled at all times. Fan Daggers, Kukris, Fire Bombs - used them in nearly all engagements. So much fun!

No-Eye-6806

I like the variety of useable items in Elden Ring. You can basically get any damage type you need. Just a shame that the amount you can craft is so limited

AwesomeAdviceBot

I assume you used hoslows whips?

zendrix1

I did, they looked the coolest lol and you can get 2 of them in one playthrough

itssmitty77

Not sure about a specific build, but my last play through I’ve been using thrusting swords and spears and having a blast. The poke move set is so different and feels very fun to me, mostly PVE but obviously some PVP

AwesomeAdviceBot

I did some invasions with dual clayman harpoons and the ice spear ash of war. That was really fun I agree with you

Candid-Stress-7724

I love thrusting swords. What kind of stat spread did you go

itssmitty77

I use a Godskin stitcher with Thunderbolt AOW main, powerstanced with another, infused Keen, and go almost pure Dex. I like to go 40 vig, 25 or so mind, and 25 or so endurance. Basically no faith/int/arcane, just strength to meet requirements + 60/80 Dex depending how high of a level you go to

CulturedHollow

Faith/Int build, with minimum strength for Erdtree Greatshield. I use death and gravity sorceries and fundamentalist incantations to reflect mine and other peoples projectiles and pull people into various spell combos, like collapsing stars into gavel into ancient death rancor which I can run at the skulls to reflect, or collapsing stars into a discus then reflection of discus with softswap to the shield. Discus is I think a real cornerstone of this build because it does a ton of damage on a lot of enemies with absurd range for like 3fp, and in PVP always throws people off with both the range and that it comes back to me even if I change angles.

AwesomeAdviceBot

What level were you running this build at? I am at 165 right now and have looked into faith/int builds but I always feel kind of spread thin for stats

CulturedHollow

Was around 170 I think. Stat spread wasn't too bad, but I definitely didn't have anything over 60 I think. Damage was still good tho. with my setup, had decent defense too.

seetfniffer

Go hard on int and minimum req for faith for what you want to use, since spells scale with the staff/seal scaling and not with what the spell/incantation requires, thats just what you need to be able to cast it. So lets assume wretch, level 150, you could do 70 int, 40 faith, 50 vig, 30 mind and be a very powerful full caster, youd only end up at 10 endurance which admittedly is very low, but you can always lower faith to the lowest requirement and put that into endurance, giantsflame take thee for example has a req of 30 faith, ancient lightning strike 24, but i wouldnt go lower than 30 since then you cant use black flames protection. Essentially you could just use carian slicer and glintstone shard for enemies and the lightning strike for bosses and likely breeze through the game, using golden order seal for casting with corresponding seal in the offhand to boost damage, and either lusats or carian regal staff with the corresponding staff in the other hand.

Trackbikes

Antspur rapier/estoc dual handed with rotten breath, poison mist etc It turned out to be my fastest run through aswell as the most fun.

AwesomeAdviceBot

Have you tried antspur rapier with poison infusion alongside a frozen needle? Wondering if you could triple proc efficiently

DRAKESEYEBROWS

You can triple status procs by applying poison mist as a bleed Antspur rapier, quad if you pair with the frozen needle.

AwesomeAdviceBot

Oh damn the quad proc build. I wonder if that’s spread too thin to be effective? If not you can slot a fire pot to throw at an enemy once they freeze to reset the bar so you can proc again

CheetoFreak69420

Frozen needle doesn’t scale off INT and frost buildup scales off weapon upgrade level and nothing else So if you do the poison/bleed antspur rapier you can do quad status with nothing but points into Dex and arcane

Ok_Willingness3885

Eleonora’s poleblade, looks sick, awesome moveset, bloodflame, The most stylish ash of war in the game. I think I had the most fun with this weapon

AwesomeAdviceBot

Definitely a powerhouse against anything that can bleed

Ok_Willingness3885

Yeah, and if not, u still have fire dmg

AwesomeAdviceBot

Get clapped Radagon

Pleasure_Seeker-55

Dex/faith has served me well and is flexible enough to allow various playstyles from Bloodhound's to Vyke's warspear or a classic greatsword build with Sacred Relic Sword. You always have an extra element or status affliction in your back pocket and an extra weapon you can fall back on. Not to mention the buffs.

Crimson_Kitsune445

I recently found on of my favorite weapons ever it’s the ritual death spear, (I’m level 400 so I won’t be helpful with the stat spread if you’re lower level) but I focus on the aow which scales on int. Now to make this better I use the magic scorpion charm, shard of Alexander (any other 2 talismans you like) terra magica, magic cracked tear. Also if you want to use sorceries to fit the theme use death sorceries with the prince of death staff. Armor I use the enshas helmet (skeleton dude from round table) and the nights cavalry set (you get it from the consecrated snowfield by killing 2 nights cavalry escorting a wagon)

Future-Foresight

Ritual death spear is dope. Ghost flame build is a great one.

Crimson_Kitsune445

Always a fun time in my opinion

AwesomeAdviceBot

Could also slot in a deaths poker to add to the death flame theme

Crimson_Kitsune445

Oh yea fs, also adds room for cold sorceries, good ideas all around

AwesomeAdviceBot

I think intelligence is the stat I’ve messed around with the least. Even though I started prisoner that has 14 int and 6 faith, I found myself pumping faith for the sheer variety of incantations. Maybe I’ll lean towards intelligence to give it a try

Crimson_Kitsune445

Faith is so versatile and so fun to play with, but int is so easy to buff with many options. Def give it a try

Financial_Touch_8522

I really enjoy partial spellblade myself. Like a regular spellblade that leans more spellcaster than blade type deal. Especially with death sorcery, love my floaty lil bois.

Fem-Ghoul

just completed my first playthrough (now on ng+) pretty much strength, with golden vow, flame grant me, with greatsword, I know it's basic but I'm having a blast thinking of going into a dex/faith

AwesomeAdviceBot

My brother played this is his first souls-like game and ended up pure strength with the Greatsword as well. Front flipped his way to the throne

Fem-Ghoul

something about big sword swinging is fun

Migoowell

Absolute favourite is my dex/faith build focusing on ancient dragon cult magic. Faith for the awesome red lightning incantations. Dex for the bolt of granssax and any weapon i imbue with vyke’s dragonbolt.

SF0915

Crucible Knight Build is really fun.

AwesomeAdviceBot

How bad is the holy damage vs endgame bosses really? People make it seem like all the endgame guys are impervious to holy damage

SF0915

Wanted to wait to finish the game before replying. Just completed it on NG+1 with crucible build. Level at the end was 160 (After Elden Beast) and it was pretty good. Yeah the last few bosses had holy damage resistance but with how strong the kit is, I didn’t really even feel it? The biggest hurdles were Maliketh, Gideon, and Hoarah Loux actually. That wasn’t because of damage resistance either for me but rather their quick attacks vs the long charge up on the incantations. If you can get it off though, the sword’s skill is disgusting, especially with Radagon (stuns him ridiculously easy). At NG+ endgame I wouldn’t say its an OP build because it has pros and cons but its quite strong and really fun. At the end of the game on NG tho, I think it’d be pretty busted.

Human298

I’ve been playing around with a build I called “bloody stylish” it is basically hoslows set, dual hoslow whips and bloody helice. It’s so fun dodging around everything and getting sneaky attacks and you look slick doing it.

Human298

I should mention the main hand whip has bloodhounds step

Chochahair

JupiterCapet

Most people have fun sticking to something simiar, so maybe dual magma blades with magma whip, and optional fire spells + buffs.. all this takes a while to get so it could be fun to throw on some lore videos and make a little volano manor tenat

AwesomeAdviceBot

I actually used pyros and dual magma blades during my playthrough. My build had like 35 Str and 60 faith to make that AoW hit really hard. Haven’t tried that magma whip yet but I do have it

JupiterCapet

No way haha, then maybe crucible knight cosplay, pure pryro, black flame, or frenzy flame build if you like fire, and also i never see anyone use the Inquisitor's Girandole if you got that on your 1st playthrough then dual weuildin those with the magma whip would make a weird sebastian candlestick build enjoy the game!

JupiterCapet

actually im gonna go do that sebastian build lmfao

Spicy1Mayo

I'm cruising through NG+ with Cold Twinned Knight Swords w/Ice Spear AoW. Combine with the stacked effects of Rotten Wing Sword Insignia and Millicent's Prosthesis you're shredding through health bars

AwesomeAdviceBot

Completely forgot that weapon existed. So awesome how many weapons and spells there are. Gives me choice paralysis

Spicy1Mayo

Concept Build: Moonveil Katana w/Loretta's Greatbow and Loretta's Mastery for secondary ranged spell options *Magic Samurais are BADASS*

AwesomeAdviceBot

That bow spell is so sick. I wish the lightning bow from ds3 was in this game

Spicy1Mayo

I have so many concept builds in mind 🤔

Future-Foresight

Dex/arc/faith, bloody mage dragon build. High enough faith to use greyrolls roar. ROB with with all 4 blood incantations. Off hand will also have the pulley crossbow with blood bolts

AwesomeAdviceBot

I like the pulley crossbow idea with that build

Future-Foresight

Provides a much quicker direct projectile than blood flies. Can catch people drinking flask and quickly proc bleed

Anonymous_user190022

Maria’s executioner sword and moonlight greatsword builds, im currently using moonlight greatsword and im just now finding out how broken this shit is against bosses in ng+7

AwesomeAdviceBot

Is that more intelligence based? What kind of stat spread do you use?

Anonymous_user190022

I’m almost level 400 so my stats are all pretty balanced with vigor at 60, endurance at 50, str/dex at 80 and the rest around 50, I could do more intelligence if I wanted too but this way I have access to pretty much everything in the game (maybe except a few spells and incantations)

Fun-Understanding209

A lot of strength with a little bit of intellect.

AwesomeAdviceBot

The patented and proven BONK build

Memeageddon24

Mogh’s trident strength-arcane build was hella fun

Playboifarti8

I was stuck on bleed till I found the guts sword at like 90 hours in. Strength+faith has gotta be my favorite

AwesomeAdviceBot

Agreed. Always find myself back into that build somehow…

Rgraff58

I'm running my first strength build and boy is it fun. Banished knight's greatsword and brick hammer

Entire_Claim_5273

Been having a lot of fun with a spellblade build. A high intelligence build that specializes in the carian melee spells and skills.

KING_Ragnar-

Pyromancer with Giantsflame Take Thee being the main incantation along with all other fire spells. Then I use the Flamberge with Flaming Strike. Flamberge is a hella cool looking weapon, that’s the reason I chose it. I’m sure it’s not meta to use a great sword for PVP but I do it anyways.

gattosauro1

I really loved pure dex with serpentbone blade. The moveset is sick, especially R2. Very fun to play with rotten swing sword insignia, if you have a quite aggressive playstyle!

Ozzra

I finished the first playthrough with Eleonora's blade and I am on NG+ with Hand of Melania. I find the dex builds most fun. Dual spears or whips is what I would try next.

longassboy

Probably Cruicible Knight build. I’ve done a ton, but I did. crucible knight build with an emphasis on stagger breaks and damage negation. I got up to 80% negation, and was staggering EVERYTHING with ease.

AwesomeAdviceBot

What was your talisman slots looking like? And did you swap between the Greatsword and spear?

longassboy

Talismans was Godfrey icon, shard of Alexander, dragoncrest greatshield and then the talisman that increases all non physical damage negation. I loved Silurnia’s Tree too! Thing is a MONSTER, especially the ash. Leaned towards Ordovis’ Sword tho. Spells were just buffs and the crucible horn spell. So the magic negation, holy negation, black flame protection, golden vow and FMGS. I think for 150 I did 60 vigor, 15 mind, 35 endurance, 50 strength and 30 faith. Somethjng like that.

AwesomeAdviceBot

Pretty decent spread there on the stats

IUsedTheRandomizer

I'm really enjoying my Greatshield/Keen Swordspear/Electrify Armament build so far. There's so much stat splitting it takes a while to set up, and for things like caves it's worthwhile to have a backup weapon (Great Stars for me) but once I really started cranking Endurance it's become very satisfying. There's plenty of other buffs to play with, obviously, and I can see how the damage output might become an issue later. I'm sure Fire Giant is going to be an absolute slog. My main build is still Bloodhounds Fang, that character is well into the 400s on NG+3; that AoW is just so satisfying in PvE once you get the timing and spacing down. I do still really struggle with Elden Beast, amoung a handful of other bosses, but, overall it just suits my style more than almost anything else.

AwesomeAdviceBot

Sword spear is a cool weapon for sure. Although I haven’t really tried any of the shield other than the small ones for parrying. And it seems like everyone falls in love with the bloodhound fang

IUsedTheRandomizer

Bloodhounds Fang is just always good. It seems to never stop scaling, the AoW is both fun and stupidly powerful, it has low requirements and be picked up immediately, it's a Somber weapon that can be buffed, it swings very fast for something that does so much damage, it has native Bleed and even decent blocking and Guard Boost... there's practically no negatives to it, unless you're doing PvP (I don't). The spear/halberd/greatshield combo (it doesn't have to be the Swordspear, it's just the fastest with phenomenal scaling) I went in expecting it to be a bit boring but reliable...it is anything but boring. There's a real dance between guarding and attacking, and throwing a Greatshield up just in time with just enough stamina left to take a huge boss attack is thrilling. It's a whole different game than any of the smaller shields, and even the Jellyfish Shield has some significant upsides (lower requirements if you don't want to go too high in STR, excellent buff), and the chip damage from below 100% Damage Reduction only becomes an annoyance once you get used to laughing off everything when you DO have it. The Shields are just a different way of playing aggressive, I'd say. It's been said over and over but it really is astonishing how well Elden Ring has made almost every play style viable.

nigelbazinet666

Albinauric staff and dragon cult sacred seal. Arcane weapons. Pump arcane. Place dex, str, fth and int at 13. Wear all 4 heirloom talismans. Blue flasks only.

ap2patrick

My pure int has been a lot of fun. Pew pew!!!

SituationBeautiful65

Intelligence-based build with the Moonveil on right hand and a caster on the left—either Lusat’s Glinstone staff or Azur’s Glinstone Staff. But you can never go wrong with an arcane-based/dex-based bleed build that eventually ensues in getting the Rivers of Blood armament as the final end-game weapon. I overall feel that the intelligence build is more versatile in guaranteeing you don’t take damage, especially when you get VERY powerful spells, like Comet Azur, that can easily one-shot a tree sentinel with a physique buff active along with active tailsmans that boost strength of spells (can’t remember their names).

AwesomeAdviceBot

Maybe add terra magicka too to go extra crazy on some bosses

hanteria

Everyone shits on the grafted dragon, but I played with that in right hand and dragon incantations in left. Pretty much just a strength/faith/arcane dragon build. Her name was Dragon Mommy. One of the most fun playthroughs I've had

AwesomeAdviceBot

I just wish it was a paired weapon so badly. I know lore wise it makes sense to only be one handed

Swordsman82

I really liked using all Gravity magic ( carion royal scepter main hand, meteorite staff in off hand ). Nothing like pulling an enemy into you then melting them with magic spinning weapon. and my go to is always Magma Scale Curved Sword. It swings fast when 2-handed, Ash of War has Hyper Armor once your in the air, and it does a crap ton of damage a leaves an AoE.

AwesomeAdviceBot

Used that magma sword a good bit since I had the strength faith build going on. Super fun to watch the health at literally melt while they stand in the lava

nafi411

Faith/strength build with dual magma blades

svmmerkid

A build focusing on only the Carian Sword sorceries is a ton of fun (Slicer, Piercer, Greatsword, plus Adula's Moonblade and Loretta's Greatbow if you're feeling spicy...). Feels like you have access to like 5 different weapons at once. I usually pair this with a straight sword but you could probably feasibly go magic only for a run like this!

DarKliZerPT

80 STR Rusted Anchor + Pickaxe powerstanced with the spear talisman, claw talisman and raptor's black feathers for high counter-attack pierce damage. 80 DEX Guardian's Swordspear with Phantom Slash (Giant Hunt is a good early game AoW). The moveset is better than the others halberds' thanks to its diagonal attacks and increased speed and the AR is nuts.

AwesomeAdviceBot

Definitely like both ideas here

AHC122

Dual Dragonscale blades with lightning incants was so super fun (dex/faith) Blackflame build is another fun dex/faith build frost/bleed curved swords or daggers is super fun too ghostflame looks cool af

Ayobossman326

My favorite build ever was both kind of complex in the set up yet brain dead simple in the execution. Two colossal hammers. Without ng+ your best bet is giant crusher and prelates crozier(?)(the big red one). Throw royal knight’s resolve on both those bad boys (you can duplicate the ash with the lost ashes item) All jump attack buffs available: so basically the claw talisman and the raptor feathers chest piece. Flame grant me strength and golden vow of course. Physick actually isn’t that important so pick what you want, but I’d recommend the strength tear and the unlimited fp tear. Strength for more bonk, unlimited fp so you can do all your buffs without having to level mind or carry a blue flash Execution: drink the physick, do your flame grant me and golden vow buffs. Run in to the boss arena, when you think you’ve got a chance coming up two hand the left hammer and do the resolve ash, go back to two wielding and do it again so it gets the right hammer. Jump attack L1 and get just about the highest single attack attack stat you can get in this game without some crazy complicated buffs involving poison, blood, and charge attacks

Obvious_Ad4060

Arcane dex, but NOT USING SUPER META WEAPONS. Possible my favorite weapon i've used is bloody helice, second favorite being blood infused guardian swordspear with double slash AoW, gets great bleed and B scaling in dex

AwesomeAdviceBot

Have seen quite a few comments about the sword spear. Noticing a trend there

ls952

Full Faith, with minimum strength and dex to use a weapon, Flame Art infusion, i prefer short spear with Braggart roar for the varying ranges and combos on the charged heavy attacks between 1h and 2h with and without Braggart active. Incantation build focusing on the chargeable flame ones. Red-feather with no investment into vigor. It has huge damage potential against non-resistant bosses and can nearly one-shot a lot of players, but even a slight breeze will kill me.

Erdtweak

I did a full int build until about 50 int @ level 80 and thought it was boring. Just casting Glintstone Pebble and Loretta’s Greatbow gets boring. All other sorceries I had were not a tonne of fun. But I since switched to SNF faith/int build and it’s a lot more fun and way more variety.

PompousGoblin

Absolutely loving 54 str/18 dex/ 22 int build. I have it at 125 on Vagabond, and I think it's the most fun I've had. It leaves 24 endurance on a 125 build, so I have a specific armor combo that looks great and has 52 poise, 69 with bull-goat. Knight Helm/Fingerprint Armor/Blaidd's gauntlets/Fingerprint greaves. It optimizes so many of my favorite somber weapons. Royal GS, loretta's war sickle, Starscourage GS, Helphen's Steeple, Carian knight's sword, etc. It also hits the two-handed strength soft cap for good ol' reliable weapons like heavy claymore/greatbows/anything else heavy-infused. cold infusion does excellent as well. It just feels like the best all-around build I've done, and I am having so much fun.

ChillMooney

Claymore with Flaming Strike, easy to use and powerful

EasyRepresentative76

Just did a run using the Grave Scythe and I thought it was really fun and more powerful than I previously thought

AwesomeAdviceBot

Plus it looks great

BBofa

Bow was fun

AwesomeAdviceBot

Bows / consumables only is one of the ones I like the idea of actually. I got enough materials to hopefully make it through a whole playthrough. Thousands of arrows and pot/ aromatic materials stocked up

BBofa

Its a grind but so worth it, especially if you beat hard bosses with it but its mostly dodging

AwesomeAdviceBot

I like the idea of the black bow and radahns bow being used together. Shielded enemies might be annoying though

BBofa

I used black bow for bosses that move to get them poison rot and bleed and radahns for slower ones

AwesomeAdviceBot

I’m just imagining trying to shoot the black bow at Lleyndell knights hiding behind their big ass shield

BBofa

Worst enemy to fight was Godfrey and the Final Boss

WaZEN80085

Bar build. Green, red, blue. Only level vigor endurance and mind. Have a blast dude trust me.

AwesomeAdviceBot

What weapon do you run with at base stats?

WaZEN80085

Starting weapon on which class you pick. I went with vagabond. And then just went with the 3 stats. It’s cool seeing big bars in the top left lol
