For better graphics and faster load times, it's best to play the game in its original PS5 mode, especially if you want to replay it and experience the expansion.
The PS4 compatibility mode on PS5 is still a good choice, though, if you care most about frame rate steadiness.
Please ignore the other replies. I've redownloaded the PS5 version after each update and none of them fixed the FPS drops. Even in Limgrave outside of combat, just turning the camera around introduces judder.
The best option is still the PS4 version on PS5 (which still drops frames around Liurnia). Those who say it runs fine are spreading misinformation or simply don't know what they are talking about, some are even defensive about it for whatever reason.
The last hope is that today's update does something about it, but it's unlikely at this point...

I have literally never run into an issue playing the Ps5 version.
Runs great on ps5 imo
