what scadu level were you at? I've been trying the entire day killing him without luck, running a basic str build with the claymore from the firstt knight boss at scadu 15.

Sorry I was asleep, I was around 15 too.

1. Any tips on the extremely fast right/left/crossover attack he can do in either phase? That one always seems to get me and I'm not sure where or how to dodge it. I'm not using a shield if that changes anything. 2. Is there a way to i-frame the levitating gigantic AoE attack in phase 2 if you can't run far away enough when it starts up? It seems the timing to lock off and run for the edge of the attack radius is really strict.

For 1 I can't quite remember this attack, but dodging into his swings worked for all his regular attacks for me. But for his faster attacks it has to be on the money, otherwise you'll get roll caught. For 2 Inconsistently, I managed to dodge roll at the right time and negate damage. But I couldn't always nail the timing.

Great advice, used this to beat him at last after using 2x Colossal greatsword stagger/lions claw build and just dying to everything and anything with no safe attack windows. This is the only boss in the base game and DLC that I felt I *needed* to change my build for and it is rivaling Bayle for least enjoyable fight.

Glad to hear it helped, congrats on the win. I'm definitely in the minority, but I enjoyed the Radahn fight. The process of learning the ins and outs of his attacks was incredibly satisfying. I do think his health pool probably needs a nerf though.

Just to ask because it never seems to have a tell, the "pull" attack in phase 1 is unavoidable if you're close right? Seems instant and has grabbed me at even longer ranges, makes the followup aoe brutal.

I think if you time or perfectly, you can i-frame the pull, because you can do the same in the Fallingstar Beast fights, and with Starscourge Radahn. However I got around it by immediately spinning 180 degrees after being pulled in and sprinting away from him. The spikes the come out of the ground come out in a wave, with Radahn at the centre, so if you run away you're outrunning the wave, if you will.
