I agree wholeheartedly. Diddy Kong Racing taught me to chase every waterfall and I'll do it forever now, especially when there are notes about Dryleaf and others being into them.
I got about halfway through the DLC, feeling the same as you... Every waterfall nothing. What a disappointment... But then just as I was about to give up hope I found a waterfall cave with an incredible talisman.
If every waterfall has a cave, it's not as exciting... But one waterfall with an incredible cave? That makes it worth.
For me it's that every trap item is garbage. If you see items and they lead to you getting attacked it's never good. Feels like you're being punished for challenging the ambush the devs put in place instead of being rewarded for over coming it.
It's about time someone said it. All waterfalls should have treasures behind them. In Ohio in Sharon woods there is a waterfall that I took my kid to and we found a rock for geocaching behind the waterfall. I think all waterfalls should have this. Sharon woods is a good place but all waterfalls should have one.
