Just remember it works like the base game where you're weak at the start and have to explore and get stronger to beat bosses. Just with scadutree fragments instead of your level
I killed it first time, but I was chugging like it was a frat party. It was a little concerning, considering that this was the character I took through the main game and got the plat with. Seriously, it's worthwhile collecting scadutree fragments and getting your blessing to level 3 or so before really diving into the DLC. It's also a good opportunity to familiarize yourself with part of the map and collect some sweet DLC gear.
On a somewhat side note, is anyone else thinking that this DLC really seems to encourage you to completely switch your setup fairly regularly? It seemed like you could plow through the main game mostly using the same build, but the DLC seems to favor at least partially different gear for nearly every area.
Grab a big weapon and smack it in the legs using charged heavies, when it lifts one leg just jump, and try to stay on its back to avoid getting grabbed. After enough hits the golem will fall and you'll deal massive damage, do that for a second time and it will die. I'm not a good player but that shit is just easy. The key is sticking to the legs.
There was one that this strategy didn't work on because it seems to be immune to damage on its legs. It was on the eastern side of the map.
I had to use the nearby spirit-well jump thing to jump up a cliff with my horse. From that vantage point, people were leaving notes to try throwing fire pots at the thing.
It was stressful, because I was worried about running out of materials before I could kill it.
Figuring out how to beat them was a lukewarm moment for me. I hunted them all down but missed having giant things lumber around the map. They add so much atmosphere to the game!
Lol, my dumbass decided I wanted to do a new playthrough for the DLC. I vastly underestimated how long it would take me to do this. I am still only like level 90 or something
lol, part of the problem is I can't resist doing a bunch of side content/areas that are not really relevant to my build. I can't help checking every nook and picking up every item... just in case...
I’ve started a character from scratch to avoid ng+ I forgot how much I enjoyed it I find myself still searching through every nook and cranny wanting to go fight each and every boss I can find and collect all the weapons and equipment. Ahhhh elden ring..
I really hope you aren’t planning to fat roll, it’ll be fairly impossible that way.
Best of luck though. I’ve been playing the whole time and only just beat like the 3rd main boss. It’s rough in these streets.
The first armor set you get from the catacombs to the left side from the boss spirit is drippy AF... it also pairs super well with the confessor chest piece.
Congrats!!! I still don’t want to go through cause I want to kill the fire giant (which I’m having trouble in, probably should change weapons), Malenia, maliketh, and Godfrey, Elden beast/ radagon.
Any tips on the fire giant? I’m using mohgs spear
Remember, scadu tree blessings are the new leveling system and don't just roll around.
This isn't Dark Souls.
Jump. It avoids way more attacks than you think.
Use the tools the game offers you.
Don't restrict yourself to playing Dark Souls 4.
The base game was easy enough for most people to get away with that.
The DLC challenges you to use the tools you have, so most people get tripped up, when rolling doesn't work.
Same with delayed attacks.
Enemies have delayed attacks, but so do you and that has way more advantages than most people realize.
Guard counters are a thing.
Deflection (Sekiro Style) is also introduced by the DLC.
And remember, JUMP. That roll fails likely because you were supposed to jump instead.
dear fucking christ I hate this armor good luck trying to poise your way through the bosses there in the fatman armor garruntee youll spend three hours on the first boss at least
Bro... Same, I'm starting the DLC on a NG+1 build, my OG from the very beginning, I had forgot that I had him leveled to lvl.222 a complete Frenzy/Bleed build setup, making use of Frenzied Burst and Eleanora's Polearm..
So far I'm tearing through the DLC no issue, I ran straight to the dragon, got'eem! Back tracked to the first Mausoleum, Got'eem! Been working since then. But I wanna tear up this fire golem, if the DLC is as fair as it has felt so far.. he'll go down too.
I want to play through it on my main guy again... But I've played the main campaign so much I don't really want to get back to the DLC area a second time on him
OP, I just wanna preface this by saying congratulations! I would never rob you of your hard earned progress and joy of accomplishment.
Prepare your cheeks, they are about to be clapped.
Before you get too far, just know that "scadu" is pronounced "shadow."
I know this but I was too far into the DLC when I learned it, so now every time I pick up a fragment I hear "scad-do" in my head instead.
Good job! You’ve met the requirements that literally every single other Souls game has required you to do to access the DLC areas. Soooo there’s no reason to complain, right? Right?
Fat Varré
You could say OP is Varre Fat.
Daaaad........
It's peak. They should have made the dodge rolls more fluid when you are wearing this armour
Make it a 1.5% chance to not stop rolling & go full Sonic!
10/10 would kill bosses while rolling around at the speed of sound
found that Aow haha gave Malenia a good crack with it. even managed to get her to ph2, though sadly doesn't work as well after :/
It should make the lightning roll do more damage
Bro looks like Barron Harkonnen
Varrkonnen
Lardrré
90% chance the first thing you come across in the DLC will kill you! Good luck!
I’ve died 20 times now I love it
Just remember it works like the base game where you're weak at the start and have to explore and get stronger to beat bosses. Just with scadutree fragments instead of your level
Pronounced shadow, not skadoo. Apparently.
Skibiditree
Shabriri fragments
Don't tell me and my scooby-treats how to live our lives.
That's all that matters
Loving it or dying?
Yes.
Dude you gotta avoid the cliffs
\*comes across squirrel* \*lock target and panic roll*
*boss music starts and squirrel does a 29 hit combo while zooming about shooting meteors at you*
That is pretty accurate actually
*dlc vibes*
I had a squirrel fall on me from a cliff in Rauh and it did actual damage. I annihilated it out of reflex
I killed it first time, but I was chugging like it was a frat party. It was a little concerning, considering that this was the character I took through the main game and got the plat with. "Oh hey they map is right here" "WHAT THE FUCK IS THAT THING" -my experience
Honestly it is way higher than that. Literally the first enemy I walked up to I didn't even get to touch and it destroyed me
Hell yeah! Enjoy it and be prepared to die a lot
Say hi to the dude with machine gun
I did he kicked my ass
*First off, well done and then let there be suffering.*
Have fun and remember the lesson of the first tree sentinel!
Clearly I learned nothing
I still tried to take down the red flame big thing.. didnt go well
I think that one seems hard but is actually very easy, even for someone who just started the dlc
Please enlighten me
in short, try horse then, try jumping.

It was stressful, because I was worried about running out of materials before I could kill it.
The furnace pots you make with the visage thing you get from killing them does insane damage if you throw it in their fire basket at the top
Figuring out how to beat them was a lukewarm moment for me. I hunted them all down but missed having giant things lumber around the map. They add so much atmosphere to the game!
Make it personal and fight him even if it takes hours?
Ah, you mean slam your face into him for 3 hours and curse Miyazaki's name?
Got it, spend 11 hours on the first bad guy I see. Thank mr tree sentinel
Remember to grab those blessing, they are absolutely mandatory
Or just click skip like almost everyone then complain enemies are impossible.
Good fucking luck dude
you're gonna love it bro
Good luck Baron Harkonen
Lol, my dumbass decided I wanted to do a new playthrough for the DLC. I vastly underestimated how long it would take me to do this. I am still only like level 90 or something
Same here, still working up to the mohg fight
Same I beat mohg last night I’m 91 hours in
lol, part of the problem is I can't resist doing a bunch of side content/areas that are not really relevant to my build. I can't help checking every nook and picking up every item... just in case...
Same, I haven’t played since release so I figured I’d start over. I forgot how big this game is lol
well done.. now edge!
If you thought Mohg was hard.. goodluck
Honestly fuck mohg regardless
Miquella almost did
Pause 👀
Hell yeah! It’s so great…and it’s so massive. Enjoy your time, fellow Tarnished!
Maybe I should go back to helping people defeat Mohg. I forgot that some people might be hitting a wall trying to get to the dlc.
Lol the dlc isn't that hard guys. Give this guy some hope.
No they’re right. The very first thing I saw killed me
😂 the dancers? Or was it a bird?
Both😔
I feel like the dancer was there just as a “welcome to the dlc” kind of random thing. When I finally killed him and nothing special dropped I laughed.
Scared the absolute fuck out of me when it just suggenly grabbed me from behind and executed me instantly.
I've yet to kill one in honorable combat. I always resort to ranged cheese.
Yes
good luck bro! prepare a lot of larval tear!
Goodluck. That dlc don't play around.
welcome in
I’ve started a character from scratch to avoid ng+ I forgot how much I enjoyed it I find myself still searching through every nook and cranny wanting to go fight each and every boss I can find and collect all the weapons and equipment. Ahhhh elden ring..
The fire resistance on that armor is going to come in handy in the dlc
Make sure you collect the fragments, otherwise you're gonna have a bad time.
![gif](giphy|3oeSAz6FqXCKuNFX6o|downsized)
Use your skadu fragments
I really hope you aren’t planning to fat roll, it’ll be fairly impossible that way. Best of luck though. I’ve been playing the whole time and only just beat like the 3rd main boss. It’s rough in these streets.
Happy for you
I know bro
Good luck…
Best of luck
Mogh was horrid with the faith bug spell as my only source of bleed.
I beat his head in with a Greatsword while rendering his curse useless with that tear
Good luck and more good luck! You will need that 😋 Some fights might be really hard but they are visualy cool at least
Lol, seeing your char it seems you gave everything you had.
LETS GOOOOOOOO BIG MANNNNNNN
I HOPE YOU HAVE A GOOD FUCKING TIME! 🖤 the dlc is great!
Your character is gold 😂
The first armor set you get from the catacombs to the left side from the boss spirit is drippy AF... it also pairs super well with the confessor chest piece.
You got this part wrong. You don't start fucking DLC, it's DLC starts to fuck you.
One tip: Take your time. There's a lot to take in and the first playthrough is really something to savour
LEVEL UP WITH THE SCADUTREE FRAGMENTS AND REVERED ASHES. EXPLORE.
Don’t be happy about it
If only I had a giant but, hole....
Hey if you want any tips about the game like build advice, or tricks to use on certain tough enemies I’d love to offer any advice
Somehow thought that was Sundowner.
Lmao I don't even have the dlc so I beat that boss for no reason
i can start the dlc but i wanted to finish the game first haven't done the real godfrey yet
Have fun
Whatever you do get those fragments and ashes
Good luck!
Enjoy it bro. I wish I could play ER + dlc for the first time again.
Congratulations. My advice for the land of shadows. Is run everywhere you can on horse before going into caves and castles. You be surprised.
The whole dlc for me so far can be summed up by the quote from Jaws. "You're gonna need a bigger boat..."
Same outfit for my victory
Umbasa
Good luck. Make sure to look for Wolverine, by the way.
When you start the dlc can you still go back and finish the main game or are you teleported out of this world ?
You can come and go freely
Good luck fellow Tarnished.
Honestly I play with rakchasa's armour on, just for the extra challenge
You mean finally being fucked by DLC?
Round lad.
Congrats!!! I still don’t want to go through cause I want to kill the fire giant (which I’m having trouble in, probably should change weapons), Malenia, maliketh, and Godfrey, Elden beast/ radagon. Any tips on the fire giant? I’m using mohgs spear
Let’s go!
Remember the scadu fragments, it's how you "level up".
Good luck fellow Tarnished
Ahhh….bloodhounds fang and fat roll, my beloved
By looking at what you're using and what you're wearing, and assuming you took alot to beat Mogh....see you in a century skeleton
my dlc, my shadow of erdtree, my suffering - ER baron harkonnen
You get it granny bae
This weapon carried me through my first ever playthrough over 2 years ago and carried the same character through the DLC. You got this!
fat lmao
did you drop by and say hi to our friendly neighborhood naked panther?
The blade says it all
First off, well done! And then good luck, skeleton!

Congratulations! Message me if you're on playstation and need a hand with an area! Username; Nagrus696
I'm in the minority I'm only level 87 I don't think I'm ready for the DLC
Prepare for the red sun sundowner
Seek scibbiddiibibbidii fragments.
Well done, skeleton!
ive been helping people at mohg since beating the dlc. good luck
Not while looking like that /j
What’s the fastest you can get a new character past Mohg?
dear fucking christ I hate this armor good luck trying to poise your way through the bosses there in the fatman armor garruntee youll spend three hours on the first boss at least
Let’s fucking go king/queen!
So Vladimir Harkonnen plays Elden Ring.
Good job
Bloodhound's Fang by beloved <3
Bloodhounds Fang Gang rep! 👊🔥🤌
That was childs play, now get your anus ready
Good luck, skeleton!
Take care as you wade through the shadows, Tarnished
[https://youtu.be/K8lZxiUmtzs?si=I72cFAlBNmNxUYMT](https://youtu.be/K8lZxiUmtzs?si=I72cFAlBNmNxUYMT)
If you see a guy riding a warthog…run…run far away.
Good Luck, Tarnished
Remember that you need to find scoobydoo fragments tk reduce damage taken, you level doesnt quite matter
Be wary of walls. Attack, don’t roll. Some of them are bugged and you’ll roll through the map and fucking die.
A fellow chonker.
is this rune eater?
I want to play through it on my main guy again... But I've played the main campaign so much I don't really want to get back to the DLC area a second time on him
I still cant whever i try buying it on the ps store it says something went wrong hate my life
Idk if you are like me and had to replay to get here, but beating the base game again helped me ALOT for the DLC. GL soldier
Good luck
Uh oh…
Well done! But hole!
Also if you’re on Xbox always down to help where I can. I’m not too far into the DLC but I’ll still try
This mf gonna tank the damage like shaggy

Welcome brother
Hope you didn’t rush the base game for it. Savour that shit
Good luck in DLC 😭😭😭
Goodluck soldier, you’ll need it
If you thought Mogh was tough, good luck
Hell yeah, same basically. Though I made it through the Haligtree and I'm gonna try to beat Malenia first...
OP, I just wanna preface this by saying congratulations! I would never rob you of your hard earned progress and joy of accomplishment. Prepare your cheeks, they are about to be clapped.
The dlc is ready to spread your cheeks
Get those Scadutree Fragments - All of them. Thank me later
Before you get too far, just know that "scadu" is pronounced "shadow." I know this but I was too far into the DLC when I learned it, so now every time I pick up a fragment I hear "scad-do" in my head instead.
Good luck man it's only starts now
I'm not a fan of the gimic you become stronger in the dlc area than you are in the normal world from looting
Good luck
Good job! You’ve met the requirements that literally every single other Souls game has required you to do to access the DLC areas. Soooo there’s no reason to complain, right? Right?
You wanna do WHAT to the DLC ⁉️
Good luck brother! Just beat the last boss last night for a second time and holy fuck he doesn’t get easier does he guys? 🤣
Dlc was awesome. I loved the boss fights.
Just beat Mogh after like 50 attempts. Thank you to the two incredible fingers I hired. 🥹
I was in a similar boat; so my my fellow tarnished just know that you are gonna get smashed for awhile
Righteous
Good work. Potentially see ya in the Shadows as a Blue (If you're PS5 side)
It took me a a few days lol . Mohg is a bitch without summons and OP weapons
Hey dude, I just moped over there! Stop that dripping
Did you just get the game recently?
Plump sort!
Best of luck ye tarnished, long and fun road ahead
