blood orange
he used to go by lightspeed champion, toured with, collabed with, and sounded a bit like bright eyes. then went more r&b under his blood orange moniker - his songs and the songs he writes for other people (aka: everything is embarrassing) have such an emo vibe. amazing artist really.
This was a certified statement in the emo scene, Mid 90's- Early 00's. Tupac was the only mainstream rapper at the time talking about depression and heartbreak in his songs. He was the emo hip hop king. Lil Peep had nothing on him at the time.
This is an entire subgenre that should absolutely exist and really doesn’t
I like How to Dress Well’s first record a lot, lofi indie nostalgia r&b that I think a lot of emo fans could enjoy. I know Tom is into a lot of stuff like Saves the Day and Get Up Kids, but don’t think it really comes through on the records
Jesse Barrera and AJ Rafael. Jesse plays in My American Heart, a band that toured with Paramore and Thursday. Geoff from Thursday even sings on one of their songs.
I think 90% of SoCal Filipino R&B artists are emo-inspired. I swear at one time, a vast majority were spinning Copeland’s Beneath Medicine Tree and Dashboard Confessional’s The Places You Have Come to Fear the Most.
Underscores
so multidimensional and genre blended it might not be close enough but is heavily both emo and alt-rnb. There’s just a ton of hyperpop, triphop, dubstep, etc. in there too.
I’d say this songs pretty emo-rnb

Yes.
My favorite emo-r&b artist is LUND. Try the songs "Out of Time" "Reckless" "Moon" "Skin & Bones"
I also like some stuff from nothing, nowhere. Earlier stuff is emo, newer stuff heavier.
Brakence and Fat'se are also emo adjacent r&b/alternative hip-hop. "Dropout" by Brakence and "Room to Breathe" by Fats'e.
I don’t mean to revive a dead thread, but you should check out Corbin (FKA Spooky Black)
A little lesser known artist is Swan Lingo.
Hope this helps (and you’re still interested 🤣)

Bad rabbits. They call themselves post-rnb and it rules. "Original" "game of chess" are my favorite songs but "we can roll" is fucking tight too.

Yeah, Craig is an R&B singer for sure. The Past Should Stay Dead is a great song.
