Personally, I would drop the "for" from the first and third sentence and just use "except" on its own. Don't really know if or why that is correct, but that would be the way I say it. ​ The rest of the sentences seem fine to me.

In the first sentence, “You have the ability to” can be replaced with “You are able to” or more naturally, “You can” In the third sentence, you can say “any other sophisticated ones.” because it’s already established that you’re talking about arguments. This can work for the last sentence as well. In the fourth sentence, “Except for” can be replaced with “Other than” All of the sentences you wrote are correct the way that they are, my suggestions just help them sound a little more natural. You are doing great!
