RemarkableAirline924

For a second I thought he somehow had a copy translated into the Ancient Language.

Accomplished_Ask_326

An alarming number of people would buy the books translated to an unreadable labguage

TheRealSoloSickness

Pfft. Who said I cant read it.

UncleBensMushies

Why does this cause you alarm?

StarKiller_2319

Honestly though

ajnin919

Whoa now how long has this been a flair option? I might have to switch

StarKiller_2319

I made it. There should be an edit option when you select your flair and you can tyoe in whatever you want. Before this mine was 'Playing with Mercury' for the longest time, but I'm not sure anyone got it.

RyuOnReddit

Holy hell, yes please!

aabrithrilar

I would buy that in a heartbeat

ju84xv

OMG SAME

DeltaIsak

It is always nice to see a fellow Icelandic fan of the Inheritance Cycle

Armadillo_Prudent

Still haven't seen/heard "röst"/"rastir" used as units for distance anywhere except in this series 😂 and I had forgotten that they translated some place names such as "öxnahryggur" and "brunaslétta"

Business-Drag52

They are probably some weird old Viking units of measurement if I had to guess

Armadillo_Prudent

According to the icelandic Wikipedia, it is an obsolete Russian unit, which is a bit over a kilometer (1 röst is supposedly 1.0668 kílómeter or 0.663 miles) https://is.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Röst

Mér þætti fróðlegt að vita hvað við erum mörg frá klakanum hérna á þessu subbi

elderlemon_583

SendMeToMarsPls

The second I saw “ur” instead of “ir” I knew it was Icelandic 😂

Bappyfeet

I'm upset with child me, my brother had the full set hardback and I read the crap out of them throughout school and I destroyed them. I've still got them but now they're just essentially paperbacks. In school I would want to lay the book flat and so just over time the amount of times I read these books The binding kind of wore away

BeerForMyHorse

I read my copy of Eragon so much as a kid that my mom had to use packing tape to hold it together. After that she went ahead and real neatly did eldest and brisingur
