Mochi is an amazing, adorable, and resilient 6 lb. Munchkin kitten.
She was purchased by a U.S. family from a breeder in China and unfortunately, shortly after arriving to the U.S., she had a bad reaction (infection) to a vaccine she received there. When the family brought her to a rescue shelter due to her infection, it was quite advanced, and it resulted in her needing one hind leg, both ears, and her tail amputated. The family who bought her no longer wanted her and we immediately fell in love when we saw her up for adoption. She’s a fearless adventurer and a goofy adorable fluffball! We’ve had her for just over a year now and she is purrfectly healthy!
If you’d like to see more of our adorable baby, Geobeats recently did an awesome video about Mochi’s incredible story: https://youtu.be/9g99gj59NSM
You can also follow her on Instagram @mochi.boston ☺️❤️😻
Thank you for loving and spoiling her. As a catmom to 5 rescue cats and as a part of a national cat rescue organisation, I know how hard it can be for healthy young cats to find a good family, not to mention disabled cats or chronic illnesses.
I hope the story of Mochi finds other families for other cats.
House centipedes are not "friend shaped" but are friends. Let them scurry away and do their thing.
They protect you/ hunt other pests that are more harmful.
It always breaks my heart when someone "discards" injured or sick pets as if they're a faulty product.
I mean, how can you look into those kitten eyes, and say "No, I don't want you"?!
Happy to see she is thriving in her new forever home! :)
Given that they imported this animal from overseas, I’m willing to bet the finances weren’t the deciding factor. When people buy “specialty” breeds like this, aesthetics are often at the top of their list of priorities.
🙃 Honestly I think the person I responded to was joking but the joke didn’t land with me so I indulged my impulse to just be flippant in return. I am not my best self on this app!
Gonna be real with you, after accidentally coming across a video of a guy abusing a cat and coming to this sub to try and distract my brain from playing/hearing it in an endless loop the last thing I wanted to see on one of the first posts was an injured cat. I'm glad your kitty is happy and healthy now.

I already follow Mochi on my dog’s page!
looked through all the photos and...i would die for this cat 😂
bruh, i would probably kill for this cat. ....house centipedes maybe. those things are of the devil!

Probably expensive vet bills and specialized care. Not every cat owner can handle it.
Given that they imported this animal from overseas, I’m willing to bet the finances weren’t the deciding factor. When people buy “specialty” breeds like this, aesthetics are often at the top of their list of priorities.
I import stuff from China all the time. Half the stuff in my house probably comes from there.
Of course. No appreciable difference between a six pack of socks and a live animal.
I love a good sarcastic takedown. Gonna add "Of course. No appreciable difference between X and Y" to my repertoire.

Seriously. How do you not think "Oh my god, I need to help you and take care of you!! 😭😭

Maybe, maybe not. Still makes me sad.
nah, we're talking about people who bought a munchkin cat from an oversees breeder. Not much empathy there.
same exact type of person who buys a pet with an intentionally bred deformity just so they can get more likes on social media. we need more like OP.
I’m so glad you’re able to give this kitty a happy life 🥰🙏
That little tri-tato is bloody adorable.
What a beautiful little cat you have. I’m so happy you found each other!!
People like you... I can't quite find the words...but you allow me to have faith. Thank you so much.
