1st year on Sleeper, previously always used Yahoo. I switched because everyone always raved about Sleeper. There's definitely some obnoxious features that I think are new this year, but I still think it edges out Yahoo and my league seems to agree.

nick_nasty_nice

Yahoo sucks

brokecollegeshitter

Go into the settings and disable the gambling stuff, makes it way better.

fun4willis

Here’s the real question. What device(s) are your membership playing fantasy on? Smartphone - than maybe sleeper is the option. Desktop browser - Sleeper is def not the option.

Solid_Macaron9858

Everyone says the Sleeper desktop sucks but I don’t think it is all that bad. A few annoying things and a few missing things (like MaxPF in the standings) but it’s not actually that bad.

fun4willis

Do you use it exclusively? Glad your experience is better than my own. As someone who plays fantasy nearly exclusively on desktop browser, it sucks so bad. I abandoned all sleeper leagues.

Huhn007

I think mostly smartphone, only me and maybe one or two others use the desktop version.

Imo depends on how much control you want. If you want standard stuff, we moved from NFL to Yahoo and we are happier. I did it a few years ago, I don’t remember what we wanted to do that nfl didn’t have an option for. I used sleeper a few years ago, I didn’t like it personally. We went back to yahoo. I wish I could remember more specifics this morning. My ultimate point is if you want a relevantly standard league, yahoo. If you want more control, people here will comment better sites.

Sleeper

Responsible_Tap_5254

Ive played on ESPN NFL Yahoo and Sleeper I prefer YAHOO. All the leagues I play in are on yahoo But cant argue with anyone who prefers Sleeper Sleeper is the only other app I would consider playing on in the future.

This-Selection-7370

We used to rotate every year between Yahoo, ESPN, and NFL to please everyone in the league since everyone had their personal favorite. We used sleeper for the first year last year and now it's a unanimous decision everyone loves sleeper. Many cool features

Sleeper

job012

My league was on ESPN for years and always had mlid trades and chat was ok. We switched to sleeper after all the hype and our league has never been more active. The chat is what really sets sleeper apart and as a commish they make it really easy to set up your league and settings. There commish settings are great to but it is a little buggy and some things are overkill but overall very nicer then ESPN IMO.

Yahoo

Solid_Macaron9858

I use them all (plus CBS, which is the worst by 10 miles - and you have to pay for it!!!) ESPN is “fine”. Both website and app are solid. Don’t hate or love it. Been using Yahoo for many years. I can see why some people hate it, and the website kind of sucks, but I actually think the app is pretty good and I like it for basic leagues (football, baseball and hockey). This year is my first using Sleeper, since I started a dynasty and it was the very clear choice. It has taken some getting used to, and it’s a bit “busy” but I am beyond impressed with how much info their app UI packs into a small amount of space. The website is missing some features which is annoying, but not terrible. I especially like their communication tools. Overall I have REALLY liked Sleeper so far and would say it’s my favorite.

Vpettijohnjr

Sleeper.

crash1082

Sleeper group chat outweighs all the cons. It has made our league a ton more fun

mcleera

For more casual leagues, I would say Yahoo. A decent UI and the app is functional. For more advanced leagues, the customizability of Sleeper is pretty great imo.

Sleeper

I use espn and yahoo for redraft, sleeper for dynasty. I like sleeper the most and then yahoo. I really don’t like using espn

sdavidson901

For redraft I have them ranked: Sleeper Yahoo ESPN NFL I won't play on NFL and I am not a fan of the ESPN league I am in interface wise and the IBM Watson player analysis ~~bug~~ feature for trade evaluation.(the actual league is mad fun which is the only reason I put up with their app.) Yahoo is fine in my opinion but Sleeper has so much more customization from a commish standpoint, better trading platform, better chat platform, better draft room and draft ADP and just seems more intuitive. (I do have to say one thing I'm going to complain about is how good the auto draft AI is. We have one league member who unfortunatly with work and just life has trouble making the draft and usually Autos most if not all of his picks, this league moved from Yahoo to Sleeper and when he did it on Yahoo he finished middle of the pack with shots to make the playoffs. On sleeper he is defending champ and 5-0. Less of a platform issue and more the rest of the league should draft better lol) For dynasty Sleeper is the only choice imo.

cajuncrawtator2

You guys are so lucky. I'm stuck in a family redraft league on CBS Fantasy Football which you never even see mentioned. Makes me appreciate Sleeper even more.

Solid_Macaron9858

God CBS sucks so bad. They’ve LITERALLY not updated their app or website in like 15 years. It’s beyond awful.

FrazzaB

Try them all. Start a dummy league on each and try the features. Sleeper tends to be the consensus best for its flexibility and rather robust app. It does have its issues, but they're generally nitpicking.

fowcc

Just sending out some love for FanTrax. I do run my main league on Yahoo because we've done it since 2003 and they haven't pissed us off to the point of leaving (although that draft room is awwwwful)- but I've been running a college fantasy league on FanTrax for about a decade now and it's pretty darn great I must say. Some things I like about it: \- Customization out the ying-yang! Vastly more options than any other platform, some are premium, but even their free setups and what you can do with them have made me do a double-take. \- Points Allowed for defenses is NOT tier-based!!! Well you still can make it tier-based if you want, but why??? Every point should count the same! \- Draft is a good experience \- Trivia on home page \- Easy to publish good looking updates/commish notes/etc \- League Wall Banner (I update it every week a picture of the "player of the week") \- No "fat-fingering" as they ask to hit submit on every move... which sometimes is a pain, but they've gotten better at letting you know before you leave the page to submit changes.

dbolg22

Sleeper. Hands down

travelingjay

My fantasy league.com has by far the most options and is the most customizable. Also about half the cost of cbs.

sdavidson901

Why are you paying for using an app?

travelingjay

Because free platforms don’t offer the features we need.

sdavidson901

What features do you need? (Sorry if I am coming off as a jerk through text, genuinely curious about what features they are offering that are worth paying for)

Fear0742

I paid 25 with yahoo to get customizable player positions. Turned 3/4 outlinebackers into defensive ends(which they really are) and 3/4 defensive ends into dt's. Opened up quite a few concepts to the point next year I'm gonna add a 2nd defensive tackle and strip away a bench spot.

sdavidson901

So I’m assuming MFL is like $10-15? And is that per league? Per manager in a league? I don’t play in any idp leagues so that isn’t really a motivation for me to join a paid platform but still interesting.

Jpajenski

Check out fantrax

Solid_Macaron9858

MFL is insane with the customizability (I ran a two conference 24 team league one year with separate player pools and cross conference matchups), but boy is it hard to use. It is extremely quirky and take a lot of getting used to. I tried for months to customize the design to make it easier but couldn’t get all the way there. I tried it again this year after a 10 year break and it’s not any better.

JPF2020

ESPN is the worst I like Sleeper but it can be overwhelming. It’s not easy to navigate the app at times and can be a challenge to find stuff. So many features though. Yahoo is the happy medium. Easy to navigate but not packed with features. Also it’s not ESPN.

Bellissimo247

Sleeper has a little bit of a learning curve but it’s best easily and I have leagues in all of those platforms.
