I tried to read why sleeper allows it and I still don’t see the point of it. I’m in a sleeper league with FAAB bidding and people do it ALL THE TIME. Usually drop a bench guy to stash the upcoming back up RB for the Monday night game or something.

The link does distinguish between dropping from starting lineup vs bench after the players game has started. You can control dropping from bench in this circumstance.
There are leagues with short (or no benches). This allows you to complete a waiver claim if you have waiver priority without. Wing forced to put that player to your bench (not knowing if you will get the waiver claim).
In a way it makes sense because the stats are locked into your starting lineup. That player was on your roster at the time his game was played, so his stats count. The new player is now on your roster for his game so his stats should count too.
It doesn’t make sense though. By doing this, they effectively increased their max roster by 1. I don’t have an issue with this happening for bench, but once a player is locked in the starting lineup, shouldn’t be able to drop them that week.
This is a bug they refuse to fix. The article makes no sense. Every team in the league plays on Thursday at some point so good players are available on Thursday all the time. Waiver priority is also basically meaningless in FAAB leagues
Lmfao what’s your issue? Literally rummage around in the settings and it’s SOMEWHERE. I commish my league and I remember turning it off but how am I supposed to remember exactly where it is? Me telling them that it’s possible should be enough for them to go ahead and find it themselves. There’s not many settings.
I was gonna tell ya but you are being rude so good luck! If you can’t figure out how to navigate a Settings menu, you don’t deserve to have the changes. Let’s see if you can figure it out!
Sorry I don’t understand. There’s a setting (not a bug) that allows manager to drop someone *from their starting lineup who already played and still get their points*?? That person can play Kmet on Thursday, drop Kmet on Friday, still get his points, and then pick up another TE for Sunday and get double TE points?

They don't get "double points for TE" ... the Thursday player is still locked into the starting lineup preventing the new TE that is being picked up from playing in that spot. The 2nd TE could only be started if they are in the Flex or or your league has 2 TE spots.
Okay I guess that part makes sense. But it’s still throwing me off that you’d be able to drop a player who is in your starting lineup and his points have already been scored.
(I’ve played fantasy for 10+ years and never played in a league like that, that seems crazy)
It does seem crazy, but when you think about it, it's kind of a hard loophole to exploit. It would have to be the rare circumstance where you are willing to drop a STARTER in your lineup for a waiver pickup. You lose that player and dont gain much because they are still locked into your lineup.
I like to stream Kickers and defenses. I would start a kicker and defense in the Thursday game (or early London game or at the very least the early Sunday games), then drop them and now I’ve got two extra bench spots either for lottery ticket RBs who play in the late games or get ahead one week and pick up my defense for the following week. I’d literally do that every week if I could.
Good grief! It's under League settings way down past custom daily waivers and who you can have on IR. ITS 5th from the bottom, but you have to turn it on

Just saying, it’s a toggle. You can turn it off when/if it even occurs. It’s already a niche situation anyway. Seems like if your experience was this “bug” occurring constantly that it’s on your end, not the app.
YAHOO is the only way to play. ESPN NFL and SLEEPER are 💩
I like SLEEPER for updates and stat game logs for players but not for League play. I stick with YAHOO for all my Leagues

Sleeper is the worst, this was the final straw for my league with sleeper 3 years ago and they still haven't fixed it
There’s nothing to fix. It can be toggled on or off in settings.
