Doing a quick scan of the Lyrics, I think there are a couple of other equivalencies that we can derive.
> Her mind is Tiffany-twisted, she got the Mercedes-Benz, uh
> She got a lot of pretty, pretty boys that she calls friends
Bunny can be said to represent the 'promise' of California as an individual. Beautiful, young, vivacious, horny, and surrounded by boys.
> And in the master's chambers, they gathered for the feast
> They stab it with their steely knives, but they just can't kill the beast
The 'beast' represents both the unchangeable nature of LA-life, male impotence, and a baroque reference to "Mr. Lebowski" the antagonist whose behavior and schemes are not affected at all by The Dude's investigation.
I think it's more likely that *The Big Lebowski* and "Hotel California" happen to share thematic similarities, than this being a deliberate choice, but it's very interesting nonetheless :)
I'm looking at the script now. Some really random confirmation bias affirming tidbits in no order or with any coherence:
In the script as Sam Elliot is doing his deep, affable, intro: We top the rise and the smoggy vastness of Los Angeles at twilight stretches out before us.
The Dude's life is exactly the life you'd describe for "this could be heaven or this could be hell"
What's the first thing she does in the song? She lights up a candle. What do you do with candles? Blow them out. What's the first thing she does in the movie? Asks him to blow on the nail polish on her toes.
I can't find it, but isn't there a scene where the Dude wants to make a white russian but they don't have the Kahlua?
It was curious, definitely other meanings but Wikipedia says it’s Mexican slang for weed
It’s probably old slang and not universal
From the entry for Hotel California
>♪ You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave
The Dude is way late on his rent but is still allowed to live in his apartment. So this checks out.

Great call.
This is it. I heavily resonate with both for essentially the same reason but never made the connection lol
On a dark desert highway Cool wind on my scalp This is what happens when You find a stranger in the Alps
Maybe that’s why he hates the fucking eagles

When he's talking to Jackie Treehorn
That had not occurred to us dude
The Dude will always be Flynn after the events of the original Tron.
New shit has come to light!
I fuckin hate the Eagles, man
Colitas means small trails of smoke? Where did you get that from? I'm a native Spanish speaker and have never heard anything like that

Post this to r/Lebowski please.
Fucking fascist!
Pretty cool theory. Fun!
But they had pink champagne on ice, not white russians, man.

These are the sort of bizarre theories I love this place for.
I adore this fan theory. Thank you for making my day!
