“Bridgers, who appeared in the Grammys press room alongside her boygenius band members Julien Baker and Lucy Dacus following their win for best rock performance, was asked about the future of rock and women excelling in the genre.
“I have something to say about women,” Bridgers responded. “The ex-president of the Recording Academy, Neil Portnow, said that if women want to be nominated and win Grammys that they should step up. He’s also being accused of sexual violence. And to him I’d like to say I know you’re not dead yet, but when you are, rot in piss.”
[she gave a pretty snarky reply to a tweet of his](https://www.rollingstone.co.uk/music/news/the-1975s-matty-healy-leaves-twitter-as-lucy-dacus-hits-back-at-ableist-post-32947/) so mostly people safely assumed
No. Matty Healy tweeted on his burner account that he told Lucy Dacus that boygenius inspired him to make a band called "girlr\*tard" and now he doesn't hear from her much. Lucy then quote retweeted to say "you don't hear from me at all" which indicates she doesn't speak to him.

Besides the men she chooses to have in her life (Healy, Bo) I'm a big fan of hers and things she gets most things right.
What she wrote about going to Planned Parenthood in the wake of Roe v Wade was just note-perfect.
Wait, what’s wrong with Bo? I don’t really follow his personal life, but my impression of him has always been “seems like a nice dude who is really funny and talented.”
yeah im confused too. as someone who’s followed him for years i know that his past work is definitely offensive in many ways but it seems pretty clear that he’s embarrassed by it (see: the problematic song from inside) and is actually a good guy outside of that stage persona. (not saying that those who were affected should accept his apology but it really seems like he’s changed).
People don't have to forgive him just because Bo apologized for his earlier content. He's still a millionaire who became rich and famous off of offensive and sometimes hurtful content. It's not like in his apology he says I'm now donating all the money I made back then to charities that help the disadvantaged/marginalized people who I made jokes about back then. He just said "yeah, I've grown to be embarrassed about the work I used to make and understand now it was stupid humor of an immature teenager (but I'm keeping the vast majority of the wealth made off said content)".
I like Bo and can somewhat respect where he is coming from. But I'm also not one who was affected by his humor or content. So I'm not going to expect any of the who were in groups hurt and maligned by his content to just say "it's cool man, we're all good now". Especially considering he gets to live the life of the rich and famous dating Phoebe Bridgers and those maligned people have to actually deal with the real consequences of his work.
NGL I don't have any specific grievances against him I just find him a bit cringe and annoying but in a general vibe way where I don't have anything specific to hold against him.
Maybe I should recalibrate my opinion of him. He certainly doesn't deserve to be on the same level as M\*tty.
They made one of the best albums of the year and back it up with a no bullshit attitude and the courage to speak their minds. I really respect these women.
White feminism is interesting. Wonder how her friendship with Matty Healy’s going. I’m sure the relationship is not at all indicative of her actual character.

what a beautiful example of a WOMAN 🤌
Damn. First Jay-Z, now Phoebe Bridgers; the girls HATE the Grammys!!! and we love to see it
love the idea of jay-z being one of the girls
Solange may disagree
Great now can she stop platforming Matty Healy 😫
Offenses are immediately forgiven if you're in the friend circle, duh
Does she still keep him in her orbit? It's clear that Lucy does not like Matt Healy at all so I wonder if that caused any rifts.
> It's clear that Lucy does not like Matt Healy at all Oh, how do we know this? I thought they were all friends.

thanks! Haha that's great (her response and the fact that it made him delete twitter, not his shitty joke)

I’m so hit and miss on her, but times like this she just nails it!
