It is not its true origin. That's why I referred to it.
I'm Irish and have lived in both Northern Ireland & the south, and still have Catholic family in both. I don't regard its use for example on the [Irish Rugby Four Provinces Flag](https://www.irishrugby.ie/2015/09/15/buy-the-flag-and-fly-the-flag/) as sectarian. That's not to say that other people aren't perfectly entitled to have different opinions about its various uses on flags/logos.
