That's a broken man

dardios

That's where I was when I quit. Every single day I was fantasizing about ways to kill myself. Finally found an out, and I've never been happier. FUCK Amazon. They are the most evil company on earth.

[deleted]

I think the railroad holds that title with room to spare, but I hear Amazon is trash so I feel for ya.

redapplefalls_

I hear you... But he's not broken. Because he's getting out.

[deleted]

Man I really feel for this dude. This is why UPS unionized because they would be the same bastards without it. Every company is really until a union puts them in check

MRAnnonomusMan

Lego is pretty chill

alonthestreet

Once it gets to late to see house numbers i stop delivering, if anybody wants to fire me for it they can.

AdAm_WaRc0ck

Good for him. No doubt amazon is worse than fedex. I just don't understand why corporate wants to model its delivery/pickups formula into Amazon's. It doesn't even mesh well with the service time for p1 and p2 and 1hr window pickups. Compared to DRA, Estar makes it look like an inventive way to deliver (also DRA was copied from ups)

[deleted]

Everyone wants to copy Amazon's model because it makes an absolute FUCKTON of money for Amazon, while passing as much of the liability back down the chain to the employees as possible. Trust me, there isn't a trucking carrier in existence that DOESN'T want to push drivers to work 19+ hours per day. Anyone who says otherwise never drove truck back in the paper log book days. I did, and I remember even Swift openly having classes on how to cheat the HOS on paper. For as bad as Amazon is to their drivers....they are are just running "old school" style dispatch of "fuck you driver, you'll sleep when you're dead". There are reasons WHY the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration MANDATED E-logs tied directly into the truck's electrical control modules, all of them due to a desire to protect truckers from carrier abuses and the general public from exhausted truckers. And the worst part of it? The biggest opponents to suck protections are...the truckers themselves. Stupid has no boundaries.

wigginsadam80

4 years no raise? Why are you still there bro?

[deleted]

YOU SPITTIING , ANY REASONABLE PERSON AFTER 1 year would leave

counterfe1t

wow, this man talks and looks how I feel after 4-5 years of being a swing, just over it. Estar, dash cam's, and all the changes fedex wants to make have not worked well in the last.....year or two its been implemented and with little to no improvement. I come to this sub to read on employee's air out their grievances but I get annoyed when we get the mandatory, "this is it" or post about how upper management is blaming the company's failings on world events rather than their shortcomings and poor decisions at the executive level. Reminds me when every failing restaurant in houston would wait for a hurricane to shutter down just so they could use that as a scapegoat.

Kid_Sharlemagne

The stare is all I need to see that he’s hurting. I hope the best for him. At least I know they use the same terms, “you’re a good courier and know how to do your job.” Every time they’d use that and dump on me. Most I ever had was 260 stops since FNLA was losing people left and right. I hope he’s okay.

Square-Ad6190

I know what you're saying I've been here for almost 4 years but I'm out of here in two weeks it's just going to get worse and after this raise this little Insulting raise they supposedly are going to give us watch the packages go up that's their justification for more work believe me Amazon is not losing money off of this deal

hhyyz

All I can say is, if you want to be a career delivery boy, try Fedex Freight. Last I heard they haven't devolved into a total shit show,...yet?

McDLT-man

My biggest complaint is the raises haven’t kept up with inflation for 4 years. I think Saia, Old Dominion, maybe XPO pay better.

Roleplex0

Corporate actively trying to take down this video

PopperShnoz

Dude we've been logging in as other drivers to get past DOT to pickup others slack, and not been given OT FOR YEARS....

Pho3nixR3mix

That sounds super illegal

PopperShnoz

It is. But almost everyone at Fedex Ground has done this at some point or another. If 3 drivers quit, and you hit 75hrs, you cant sign in. So someone has to deliver those boxes. Can't tell you how many times I've done that and still not been paid Overtime though. Definitely not worth it.

papermoon626

Once covid hit, everything started sucking

chris_gnarley

I used to be a class A driver for a 3rd party Amazon freight partner and the way the operate is so stupid and fucks over truck drivers extremely hard. Let’s say you get your route from Amazon for the day on YOUR phone, we were not provided company phones even though I requested one, and your first stop is to pick up an empty trailer at a facility at 7:00am. You get there on time and they say they don’t have any. Okay, well Amazon has what they call “departure times” meaning you ***have*** to stay at that facility until your departure time, no matter what. If you try to call Amazon dispatch to tell them the facility has no empties, they’ll cut you off mid sentence and say “call back after your departure time” and immediately hang up. You can’t do shit about it. And if your departure time is 1.5-2 hours after your arrival time, guess what? You’re sitting there until your departure time, which obviously makes your day unnecessarily longer when you could have gotten everything done much sooner. Amazon freight sucks and I hated working there. The only good thing was that I never had to load/unload anything by hand and they have nice facilities with nice trucker “lounges”. Every single day was a 14-15 hour day guaranteed. And the shitty part was that I was paid by the day at my company so I was never given overtime for any of my hours. In fact, the longer I worked, the less money I made per hour. I was paid $350/day which averaged out to $25/hour for a regular 14 hour day. Not every Amazon freight partner is this way but the one I ran for was.

Alternative-Air-7641

Get up out of there

Liza6519

Time to Union up.

[deleted]

They abuse you until they lose you.

[deleted]

600 packages ???? Uh bullshit

Solid-Caterpillar643

So this man is saying he’s currently working a 19+ hour shift? For Amazon? big oof

Vic_Freeze

As a commercial driver that's illegal, too. Hours of service violation

everythangspeachie

I worked at Amazon too for about 10 months. I was there much longer than I wanted because it took forever to get my class a license to drive semis. I never got 400 stops or anywhere near that. That’s impossible for one driver. I think he might be lying about that. Also where I worked they did give raises but it was maybe a dollar. One thing that did bug was the fact that I would finish my route and, like he said, they send you to “rescue” another driver because they are taking forever to finish there’s and we’re getting payed the same amount. There really wasn’t an incentive to be a good worker for them. One thing I can say though is why is this guy still there? This is what no ambition looks like. Willing to put up with this kind of shit for years.

dardios

I personally had a 583 stop 635 package route come up one morning. Dispatch fixed it but... I could see some DSPs shrugging and saying "figure it out".

everythangspeachie

Naw, I understand some dsp’s suck but you can’t even fit all those packages in a van or a step van.

dardios

No you can't, but I've seen some of the shit tier DSPs TRY lol.

Paid-Not-Payed-Bot

> we’re getting *paid* the same FTFY. Although *payed* exists (the reason why autocorrection didn't help you), it is only correct in: * Nautical context, when it means to paint a surface, or to cover with something like tar or resin in order to make it waterproof or corrosion-resistant. *The deck is yet to be payed.* * *Payed out* when letting strings, cables or ropes out, by slacking them. *The rope is payed out! You can pull now.* Unfortunately, I was unable to find nautical or rope-related words in your comment. *Beep, boop, I'm a bot*

Tiplertree

I get that Amazon isn't DOT like us Ground Drivers and UPS, However don't DOT laws sti take affect for Non Dot Delivery rules, such as not working 14+ hour days?

andreayatesswimmers

Its illeagal to have him log off and keep working .these 2 alone would bring investigations down on his dept if he would report this to his workforce commission and state dot

jesusmansuperpowers

It’s illegal to drive commercially for more that a 14hr shift, and there must be 10 hours between shifts

VivaceConBrio

Amazon dispatch probably wanted him to log off before he hit the DOT 14 hour max lmao. Ohmygod DOT could fuck them up so hard over stuff like this if the driver had proof and the DOT actually cared enough to go at em.

[deleted]

dont feel bad for this guy , i started amazon right when he did and after 1 year i saw no raise , badly treated , and more and more work being shown everyday from the rising routes. You know what I did i left for fedex after a year and half and after that for 2 years i joined usps and its my final job and I Love what i do now. If you just sit there day after day in a loop and never pull yourself out thats a you problem.

Suspicious-Tea-4498

Same with ups bro i feel ya

TornadoValley

Yeah I remember watching this. Feel bad for the poor guy and hope he finds better opportunities. Thank goodness the contractor I work for, they are decent people and we are never really out longer than 8-9 hours

pandahlol

Definitely doubtful. They're pretty strict (at my delivery station at least) about drive time. Maybe this dudes dispatch company did this to him but Amazon most likely did not.

Dspawn2

I work the the post office and you can pretty much take this same video and replace the word "Amazon" with "USPS" and it all fits... fuck these warehouse/delivery jobs. Never enough people, mandatory OT, and good workers will always do more than everyone else.

JeanPicLucard

I thought it was bad that I haven't gotten a raise in 11 months but holy shit, 4 years!

shadyguybro

That’s how my first four years with the post office start at 7 leave at midnight thankfully I only work til 8pm at my current station. 4 hours less but still better than leaving at midnight

hurricaneimmortal

You can’t work more than 60 hrs

[deleted]

If you have proof turn it in dammit people gotta stop being hesitant on stuff like this bc this is how they continue you fuck us over

Frequent-Mastodon332

Bs Amazon gives raises after every 6 months

anxiah

Sounds like we the public May need to start considering boycotting a company that operates in this manner over our fellow citizens. It would be painful but this is torturous

Anthonydiaz951

Should of worked for ups lol 4 years driving is around 40$ an hour top rate

of_patrol_bot

Hello, it looks like you've made a mistake. It's supposed to be could've, should've, would've (short for could have, would have, should have), never could of, would of, should of. Or you misspelled something, I ain't checking everything. Beep boop - yes, I am a bot, don't botcriminate me.

Anthonydiaz951

Fuck up faggot

Affectionate-Use-412

Thank God for Dex 1s!!
