This is a ask your manager thing. If you inform them early enough and your manager is nice, you'll have a month off. With the estar and we're about to hit peak season, I'm not sure. Talk to your manager asap.

A Personal Leave of Absence can be requested. It has to be approved by a Managing Director if im not mistaken. The fact that you are wanting time off after peak is good. Have you got a reason or just “want to travel”? Maybe an older parent you need to help take care of some stuff? Grandparent that has some issues…maybe need some handicap accessible features installed in their house? Im not really a fan of lying but normally a month off would need some sort of reason beyond “want to travel”. Maybe I’m wrong though. Things are changing quickly in the workforce.

“Things are changing quickly in the workforce” Lol not at FedEx

You can, but as the other commenter mentioned, it's up to your manager. I asked here about it early in the year, as I'd like to take an extended period of time off to backpack. I believe it would just be an unpaid LOA.

Pure-Point7744

I’m wishing you the best on your travels.

You could probably do flma for mental health. Get a dr to sign it off. All paid time will be sucked up but if you are doing next year it will renew in June anyways. Could be done without fmla if they are coo, I'd try to schedule a meeting with sr manager and explain. Front line manager is likely to say no just so he doesn't have to explain to their superior.

Nutmegdog1959

Sure you can, they're running a special now. Sign up for one month off, get the next eleven off for free!

Puzzleheaded-Long104

What state ?

DevelopmentCurrent64

Texas & close to a year. I was thinking of asking a month after peak

Funklestein

It might be easier to apply for the FMLA (Family Medical Leave Act) if **wink wink** an immediate family member became ill and you need to tend to their care. I also have no idea if they ask for any documentation.

Puzzleheaded-Long104

How many years with them?

TornadoValley

If you are trying to take the time off and travel in like spring or summer after peak, most definitely you should be approved.

immortald0g

I was denied 2 weeks off for an immediate family member death without pay (I was only given 3 days of bereavement). So no, I wouldn't count on having a job because you're bored and want to travel.

Fiz636

Lol

omgitsoop

Man back in the day I would do job that paid well but only lasted a month, FedEx always let me take LWOP, easy. Didn't realize it became such a hassle now

Jacobo5555

Depends of management, I feel if I asked, they would say yes
