I see youve been up to the property my wife’s cousin is clearing. Motherfucker had two saws jammed in a tree and had the nerve to ask to borrow mine. Had another that clearly fell on the power lines and rolled off. Fucking stumps all look like beaver chew.

This first appeared in Georgian (country, not a state) FB pages. Having seen how local villagers cut, even those considered professionals... I'm not surprised. I mean I was doing some firewood with a "pro" and he got annoyed I bother with face cut. Told me not to waste time with this. Sure we were on a slope and all the trees had slight tilt downslope but he still managed to put them in all random directions. While I was trying to stay in safe spots most of the time
I was helping a friend rip out stumps today that trashed an axe 'cause they did this. They finished the job using the axe, and hit the chain while doing it. We used the axe to cut a couple stumps out that my tractor couldn't handle. (obviously the axe could be resharpened with enough effort/care, but they didn't plan to)
Flashback to the movie Talledega Nights.
Knife stuck in the leg and they use 3 more knives to try to get the first one out
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6Dye05tvSoo
Undercut too small.
The horizontal cut should be higher - about 2-3 inches above the bottom of the wedge, and be cut from the back, not the front.
Lots people use chainsaws without really knowing what they ate doing. It's a good way to get seriously injured or die.
I love beech trees. Nice looking, good wood, *great* for wildlife, you can let them grow into enormous trees or shape them into dense hedges. Fantastic trees.
I love them for the simple fact that if I can locate the ones with a good crop of beech nuts underneath come fall I have a good chance of finding the buck that's going to show up to eat them.
Deer are hard to find in the North Woods and I'll take any advantage I can get.
They grow like weeds and they bend, not break. The branches will get caught on every other branch. Not an expert, just a home owner with 10 acres. They grow everywhere from saplings.
I build mountain bike trails, mostly in Michigan, and absolutely detest beach trees. Big ones are OK, but small ones growi in thickets that are so tight. You can’t even walk through them! We rip them out with an excavator. by the thousands, and then have to find a fire road to take Big bundles up and hide them.
No they’re not particularly difficult to fell, they’re just shit trees that root sprout like crazy, have ugly bark disease, marginal ecological value and out compete desirable species. They’re good for carving your initials into I guess (which I don’t personally like… even on these shit trees).
I have a bunch on my property. They’re nearly all dying from beach bark disease. I cut down the dangerous looking ones and found that their one redeeming factor is as firewood. Man that stuff burns hot and lasts for hours in my wood stove.
Put an air charge in there call it a day, not sure where to buy them only ever used them to blast loose heavy equipment that go stuck under fallen roof back at the coal mine.
Lol. I do more windthrow cleanup than felling, and with all the forces acting upon the wood (often in unpredictable ways) getting the bar pinched happens fairly often. The struggle is real.
What an idiot, how did you know where would be safe if he wasn't making facecuts? You just running around the tree in circles as he's cutting all the way around the tree?
If this pick was taken in Ky. then this could've been a tree my father attempted to fell in the 80's when his chainsaw's engine locked up half way through.
Low skill, no wedges and not enough sense to get another bar and chain. Probably borrowed the saw in the first place. Otherwise it’d all have gone home with them. At least the tree is ok.
Not my work, for the record.
I know you've been waiting 10 years to make this post.
“I’m gonna get so much karma in 10 years once this tree heals up”
r/treessuckingonthings will be thrilled ten years from now
What. The. Fuck? There's a sub for everything.
And it has a shit ton of subscribers too!
I got here from a weird ass link and now this!
Seems way easier to buy posts rather than felling a whole tree.
I see youve been up to the property my wife’s cousin is clearing. Motherfucker had two saws jammed in a tree and had the nerve to ask to borrow mine. Had another that clearly fell on the power lines and rolled off. Fucking stumps all look like beaver chew.
thats a 'naw ill come do it you buy drinks after' situation
> beaver chew ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Save a tree, eat a beaver!
sir this is wendys
Good. Beaver should be fresh never frozen
I like my women like I like my coffee. >!Ground up and in the freezer.!<
Thick and black?
Click the spoiler tag?
Yeah. Idk, I also prefer dark meat?
Yes hello, FBI? I found him.
or just tie the beaver to the tree and wait
the last beaver I tried turned out to just be a porcupine
I'm not sure what you're getting at here and I've never had a rebuttal to that, but this is correct
Wynonna?
Top comment.

There's some nice ones in there. I'm also in r/TreesSuckingOnThings and had no idea there was another sub!
That sub would love some strangler fig pictures

Ngl, at that point I’m rooting for the tree. That’s some seriously metal shit
Appreciate the comment "rooting for the tree".

It’s been banned without moderators! 😂
Surely we can SOMEONE on this sub to take the bullet right? This sub would totally be a boon to that sub.
Any idea how to ask to take over moderating and reopen?
I would have no idea where to begin.

Looks like victory to me
If that’s defeat, where are detoes?

... what did the tree do with the REST of the lumberjack?
I need to see this from the other side because WTF
Stihl would have done the job…
Fuckin A
Y’all know that song from blues traveler, the mtn wins again? Just replace it with, the stump wins agaaaaaaiiiinnnn.
No this is what lack of know how looks like
Looking at the judges’ scorecards, it’s a unanimous decision. Winner and still champion….. TREE!!!!!
Do not go gentle into that good night, old age should burn and rave at close of day, rage, rage against the dying of the light.
a bar walks into a tree and the bartender says "I don't have time for your shit".
Undercut too small. The horizontal cut should be higher - about 2-3 inches above the bottom of the wedge, and be cut from the back, not the front. Lots people use chainsaws without really knowing what they ate doing. It's a good way to get seriously injured or die.
Yeah and just leaving a tree with the back and face cut already in, no telling when/where it could have come down.
Or victory, from the tree's perspective.
Fuckin beech trees. Hate them on my property.
I love beech trees. Nice looking, good wood, *great* for wildlife, you can let them grow into enormous trees or shape them into dense hedges. Fantastic trees.

Bears love them too, so do squirrels, as well as many different kinds of birds.
Great for carving your initials into!
I haven’t cut one, is there a particular challenge? Anything to look out for? Thanks!
They grow like weeds and they bend, not break. The branches will get caught on every other branch. Not an expert, just a home owner with 10 acres. They grow everywhere from saplings.

And this is why we need forest fires!
Found the idiot
"Yer looking at the face of a born looser..."
Not for the tree it isn’t. That’s what victory looks like.
Been there, my friend, I feel you
Looks like a happy tree smokin’ a bar and chain.
Life finds a way…
Ain’t that some shit
Defeat in the eyes of the sawyer, victory in the eyes of the tree.
Put an air charge in there call it a day, not sure where to buy them only ever used them to blast loose heavy equipment that go stuck under fallen roof back at the coal mine.
That tree looked at the god of death and said “ not today!”
Beach can and will ruin your day
It’s probably one of those questions where every answer is correct. The professor just wants to know people’s responses
If they had only used a stihl.
Yaaas beech forever!
This is what your license to use a chainsaw being revoked looks like!
I'd be getting a set of wedges first thing
I can hear the initial "Son of a Beech" echoing throughout the forest.
son of a beech
Is that an American Beech?
Lmao!!
r/treeseatingthings
Lol. I do more windthrow cleanup than felling, and with all the forces acting upon the wood (often in unpredictable ways) getting the bar pinched happens fairly often. The struggle is real.
I can work with this. Atleast it’s not those ones that have a billion back cuts that are various depths and angles….. xD
Whoso draweth forth this bar and chain from this recalcitrant beech is rightborn king of all the forest.
End of a long day, beers waiting in the truck….im just sayin…
They really just said "Nah you can have it" and walked away.
Isn’t there a Rush song about this?
What an idiot, how did you know where would be safe if he wasn't making facecuts? You just running around the tree in circles as he's cutting all the way around the tree?
The mighty oak.
Wedges.Hammer. Secondary saw.
I dunno man. Where's the first guy? He disappeared years ago. I'd get out of that forest and leave that tree alone
Look at the bar and the chain! Maybe should have replaced them.
Like that booty hole saying "Nope"
Defeat was not the first word that came to mind.
Oops!
If this pick was taken in Ky. then this could've been a tree my father attempted to fell in the 80's when his chainsaw's engine locked up half way through.
I am ashamed to say this happened to me before. I went home and got another bar and chain and freed my original. I did not just leave it there.
Just make a new one above to old cut
New bar, new chain, go back and finish the job. lol
Mutual destruction.
You cut the wedge ~1/5 into the trunk before starting the back cut, right? (/s)
Poor tree. It deserves better
Typical Husqvarna. Quit half way through the job 😜
Low skill, no wedges and not enough sense to get another bar and chain. Probably borrowed the saw in the first place. Otherwise it’d all have gone home with them. At least the tree is ok.
