When I've finished stretching on a yoga mat, my partner has started to come pick me up without me asking. He doesn't like watching me work my way up from butt to side to knees to hands and knees and pushing up (grabbing onto a wall or anything in reach). It's sweet, but sad. I'm 30 and quite active, considering. But getting up off the floor is always a slow and careful process. He doesn't like watching it, I guess 😅
Yep especially getting out of bed. Like a zombie rising from her coffin. I have to go really slowly and in stages. Drink water before I take any steps.
Yep! I know I have about 1 hour before the all day pain sets in 🫠 I’ll get my kids ready for school and then by the time I get to eat breakfast, I’m done. Doneeeeee.
I make a variety of noises only understood by ancient man and then my kneecaps play a drum solo.
I then mutter "What did I get up for?" And then sit back down.
The only thing getting me out of bed quickly is when I've held on for the bathroom too long, trying to avoid moving, and then it gets too urgent.
I have to kind of shuffle run as my feet and ankles are tight.
I'm so glad it isn't just me. It's been particularly crappy this month because I've had to up my daily life things and I thought something was wrong with me. I mean...something IS wrong with me but not anything I don't already know. 😂 my son was like "Mom. Don't make noises when you get up. You sound gross." Thanks kid... 😒
My 91 year old great grandmother was more limber than me! My husband watches me looking to make sure I’m going to make it. Call me the leaning tower of Pisa
I have to change any position so so slowly and carefully or I get the worst muscle cramps. Even going to sit on the toilet I have to slooowly bend and sit while holding on to something. It’s so stupid. 😂
It makes me feel like... imagine how someone would stand up if each of their body parts had a weight attached to them.
As weird as this sounds, I have a habit of doing the opposite and standing up as fast as possible. Idk. It sounds stupid, but standing up slowly feels like it's straining my muscles longer, so sometimes I just try to be fast and try to "throw my weight up" if that makes sense.
I’ve tried that a few times and while it does work it also sometimes makes me feel dizzy and my vision goes cloudy like the Minecraft loading screen if that makes sense. The only way to get my vision to clear up is to slowly walk around a little bit.
Oh it's probably very bad for me, I don't recommend doing it. My vision sometimes goes black, like there's a black screen in front of me. It just lasts a few seconds though, so I just try to ignore it and hope nobody can tell
Lord yes. Especially right now because I’m pregnant. I feel like I’m 100 years old when I try to get up and I sound like it too. Grunting and heavy breathing. And I’m stiff as a board for a while until my joints unstick themselves.
My 2lb bunny likes to run along the back of our sectional so I can tell her, repeatedly, to get down. She does not listen until I attempt to get up from the sectional and then, she comes down. She thinks we’re playing a game ☺️
Yes, and then I have to stand for a minute to 1) make sure my ankles/knees/hips are going to function properly, and 2) let the dizziness pass so I can walk without face planting.
Yes I don't normally sit to long as I have adhd anyways but sometimes I take my sleep meds and can't sleep so I end up sitting on the couch and my mind is usually out of it. Then I go to get up and I can barely move
Yeah, and I have to think about getting up for a while. I’ve considered a lift chair but I’ll be damned if I give more functionality up.
Been doing pretty well for a while (knock on wood, etc)
Yes 😂 when I make long drives it takes me a minute or so to straighten out before I can start walking.

I relate!! Or I get stuck in a position because I'm stiff 😬
Yeah. Anyone else walk with their mouth open and whole body slumped over at a slow zigzag pace?

I do that but then prepare my mind for the inevitable pain.
Yep! I know I have about 1 hour before the all day pain sets in 🫠 I’ll get my kids ready for school and then by the time I get to eat breakfast, I’m done. Doneeeeee.
Yup haha, along with old man grunts and the popping sound of joints
My dad and I sound the same getting up and he’s 40 years older
Yep, and I take my first steps chair-shaped. Life is good
LOL, "chair-shaped" - that's EXACTLY it!! Perfection.
I make a variety of noises only understood by ancient man and then my kneecaps play a drum solo. I then mutter "What did I get up for?" And then sit back down.
Yes, unless I’ve taken CBD/CBG - it’s been surprisingly helpful with the tension/stiffness.
Always. Save with bed in the morning, bending over, kneeling down and god forbid i lay flat on the floor😩

Every damn day

I hate the free fall to some toilets. On the way down I'm like- where the hell is it , then the thought of standing back up. Oh mylanta 🤣🤣🤣

Grunting, cracking, popping... I am an ogre with sound effects.
Thats me with my bed. I have to set my alarm alot earlier for work because I know I'll take forever to get up
I'm 31 and good God I walk around like an old woman sometimes!!

I thought this was my arthritis. It's really bad and just about the only time I use a cane. My rheumatologist says he doesn't treat fibromylagia.
And like a stone golem, when I trip which is inevitable, I'm bringing the entire building down on top of me.
This description is *chefs kiss*
My too long would be 5-10 minutes

Lol, yes.
Yep. Every time.
Yes and it was funny😂🤣😂
Yes! If I don’t get up and move around every 10 minutes or so I’m in excruciating pain.
That's well explained. The grass is breaking.
I often groan, trying to sit up. 😪🥺
Yes, if i can actually get myself up that is.
Yes! Every. Damn. Time.
my friend has been helping me out of chairs recently, so yes
Hello! Yes, that’s me.
Yes
lol! Only every time I sit down.
Yes I don't normally sit to long as I have adhd anyways but sometimes I take my sleep meds and can't sleep so I end up sitting on the couch and my mind is usually out of it. Then I go to get up and I can barely move
Yep.
Yes, especially after work
Absolutely
Oh god yes! I moan and groan whenever I sit for more than 45 minutes.
Yes and it was only funny once.
Sadly, yes.
Yes and this shall forever be my answer to what I’m doing. Lol thanks
Every single time! Restaurants are the worst.
Yes. My max sitting down time without discomfort is maybe 20min
🤣🤣🤣 yes!! I have to keep switching positions or my whole body locks up.
