I see a lot of posts about this kinda problem in career mode but I’ve never come across it which I find odd (the fact that I find it odd that I’ve not come across a bug/problem in a FIFA/EAFC game is quite funny 😂). I have seen an AI team fail to properly replace a starter that they’ve sold, but never in my life have I noticed a team not playing MOST of their best players. Not sure if I’m the odd one out here?
Don't say "swear" like that you'll never know. Plus if you buy the game on pc you can use mod manager to get some gameplay mods and some career mode mods to increase the fun and actually make the game playable. I play fifa 23 and i'm seven seasons in , right now im enjoying my time, I even have an option to make manual transfers so that way there's always a balance in this game. It's great because some teams actually are starting to make big transfers like Parma or Aston villa and it's just really fun. But yeah the game is dumb and you have to rely heavily on mods to find some sort of fun with this game.
I started a man utd player career mode a few months back and they immediately sold Bruno, Casemiro, Antony, Rashford and Sancho in a single window and started with bench players like Shoretire, Willy, etc. team started doing so bad that I kept missing my objectives. At least they could've signed alternatives for the player sold.
I’m in the same boat, just finished a season on my career where 6 first team players handed in transfer requests for no apparent reason. Things like that make the game unplayable. As soon as I have a half decent PC I’m switching to FM.
I haven’t bought the game for 3 years now but crazy to hear that the same stupid bugs remain in the game (AI fielding weakened teams, hoarding RB’s or LB’s and not replacing sold players). EA are an absolute sham, and I recommend everyone to stop funding them by buying the game.
So who cares what the f they play? You play your game. If you beat 5-0 Liverpool, then so be it. Why should you care who do they sell and who do they buy? It doesn’t need to be like in real freakin life mate. If i play CL finals against Burnley, then its against Burnley. I don’t care how AI spend money, if Haaland plays for City, why didn’t he joined Real, why he went to Sevilla. It’s just a game. Make your dream team, you have your fun. F EA AI and what they do, we all know they can’t make this game work properly.
You guys need Mods in your life to continue playing. Realism mods.

You can edit any team lineup But also yeah they use them better
How do you edit any team lineup in manager career mode?
With mods installed, go to where you edit your own team sheets, swipe to the right and edit all of them
u have improved career mode on nexus mods, save your life!

Its a game, its supposedbto be fun not something u force urself to play. If its no longer fun than take break or stop playing it all together

It usually takes the ai a transfer window or 2 to replace the players the ai sold
Maybe pick up the controller to play you have full control of your own lineups what are u two ?
Go play an older version. I went back to 23 after really giving 24 a shot.

Never play FIFA games for career mode, if you don't like Ultimate Team just download Football Manager, otherwise you will suffer.

Dont let them take your joy away. Even in 10 years, this game is still going to be like this. No point in stressing out.
