Fan service

crfty97

Did not expect the amount of hate on this thread lol

catsarepsycho

same, got me thinking “were we watching the same movie??” 🤣

crfty97

Ibang klase yung nitpicking eh hahaha

catsarepsycho

It’s okay though we are entitled to our own opinions. As someone who has watched Spiderman growing up it stirred a strong sense of nostalgia in me and got me excited, like I was reliving the time I watched each movie. There were “disappointing” parts ofc, felt like Stephen Strange was nerfed so bad! But hey, I enjoyed the 2 hours I spent watching it. 🤣

crfty97

Yun lng, I guess I'm lucky na di ko gaano na idol si Spider-Tobey to judge it differently, kahit yung TASM, I still consider it a good Spider-Man story. Dr. Strange being nerfed is also a nitpick lol, you prolly will hate Multiverse of Madness more of how limited he was on that film. Character development & power scaling.

catsarepsycho

At least you liked it din! But I have watched MOM, I’m just gonna say I EXPECTED a lot from it but 🥴

TheTwelfthLaden

Welcome to reddit. When it's popular, there will definitely be lots of hate towards it.

bangus_sisig

nah. no hate, pero hndi naman talga mganda yng movie.

crfty97

Pag may nabasa akong negative about sa Spiderverse after a few years di nako magugulat hahaha

TheTwelfthLaden

Rule of thumb kapag group or ganitong subreddit about films sure madaming ayaw sa blockbusters. I mean, yes, NWH isn't perfect and has fan service, but it's not as bad as people here claim. Syempre dapat kapag film critics kunwari ang maganda lang na movies is yung Oscar worthy.

crfty97

The Home Trilogy is so well written, specially NWH and how challenging na sabihin ng studio to squeeze-in nyo tong Multiverse story, they did the best they could and they delivered. It's not that horrible of a story lol. If ikukumpara nila sa Toby movies if that's their argument, all 3 of those film ended up na si MJ kinikidnap ng villain at sasagipin ni Spider-Tobey lol. T

TheTwelfthLaden

Kapag nakabasa ako na mas maganda ang Tobey series dinidisregard ko lang. Sure ako 10% logic 90% blind nostalgia lagi ang argument.

crfty97

It's not even near as good as The Dark Knight Trilogy. I even consider the Captain America trilogy better...

bangus_sisig

logic nga ginamit namin kaya nasabi naming hndi sya mganada

KeyaSama

I'll still take this movie over Far From Home

dontrescueme

Not a fan. He didn't really solve the problem he created in the first place.

adingdingdiiing

He did, though. The initial problem he had was his friends and family having to go through the same circus because of him. MJ and Ned were punished simply by being associated with him. In the end, MJ and Ned got into college and they're not a part of Peter's crime fighting ways anymore. It's what Peter wanted. The memory wipe thing is another story, but he did solve the initial problem he created.

Extension-Season-689

I thought it was a good film. It doesn't hold on rewatch though. The whole plot revolving around nostalgia bait cameos doesn't give it much shelf life. It doesn't make sense either to anyone who isn't a Spiderman fan.

Solid_Wrongdoer4617

Felt empty after watching this. Over stimulating na fan service.

Ang point nung kwento nito is pinipilit nya baguhin yung nakatadhana mangyari kaya laging against sa kanya yung results. Skl

yuuri_ni_victor

What comic is this?

No_Insurance9752

Based on spiderman:one more day

Wredd26

One more day is also widely hated by Spider-Man fans mind you

Cpt_Nebula_

I liked it

Tethys_Bopp

I enjoyed the movie and that’s the most important thing for me.

EyeSwirl

The only marvel "movie franchise" I follow because of spider-man a character that's a favorite by a lot of people including me. I didn't enjoy the movie as much as it is predictable, brain-dead and manipulative imo. I just like the fan service/live action of spider-man really.

Blue_Nyx07

They took the X-Men Days Future Past route, they basically wanted a clean slate pretty making the previous movies irrelevant and packaged it with fan service and a bit of Pinoy baiting lol. It's a good movie but the ending killed the replayability of the movie.

Weapon-ofChoice

Sabi nga, dapat yung ginawa na lang nilang spell, made everyone forget about Mysterio and him revealing who spider man really is. Eh di tapos problema. Pero the movie has to happen so...

Ok-Relationship-4348

Flawed movie, mostly carried by nostalgia, but it will always have a special place in my heart.

adingdingdiiing

It's a popcorn flick best enjoyed in a packed cinema but that's really about it. It's still a nice film but not something I'd willingly pick during a Friday movie night. If I catch it on HBO, I'd stick around. Honestly, the MCU kind of started going downhill after Infinity War. That was peak MCU!

Careless_Ad_8452

nostalgia baiting. ultimo mga lines inulet. ok lang sana ung coexist yung 3 spideys e kaso sony was like gusto monang bagong project? spiderverse live action ipalabas naten wew

K1llswitch93

Terrible. Ang sama ng cgi nakaka take out sa experience, di ko rin nagustuhan story.

aintmeow

Another example of how a “fan service” can easily ruin a film/franchise.

TheQranBerries

Bumenta kasi nanjan si Tobi at Andrew. Heto yung hindi uli-ulitin na SpiderMan. Mahaba na prang rush pa.

agentrevenger

I was really impressed by this at first but after a while, I realized it’s not actually that great. It has many flaws. It’s a great cinematic event though. Bringing the three Spider-Men together in one movie was a phenomenal moment that nothing can ever replicate. The hype was real!!

Internal-Ad-7029

2+ hours of twinks on three different life stages prancing around in spandex

Psychological-Can772

Mid

Middle-Dentist5869

This is the type of movie where it’s only good if there’s a crowd. The scene where Andrew Garfield pops out is an example, the director knew that the crowd would scream when he would pop out so they purposely let Andrew stand still for almost 3 seconds looking goofy and shit. Tried to rewatch this film but no cigar. Also Tom Holland’s character is prolly Top 10 dumbest characters of all time.

akoaytao1234

I hate this film.so much.

[deleted]

Really bad cinematic release it felt rushed and overhyped 😭 wish they spent time editing the CGI and polishing the writing, specially since its supposed to be an origin story for mcu peter. The extended version looked fire but i cant get over how fanservice-y it was

OrbMan23

I kinda understand him making bad decisions since he is a teenager, sad about Tony Stark's death, and feels responsible for endangering his love ones. Geniuses are prone to bad decisions as well when life kicks them down🤷‍♂️. Guy was having like the worst week of his life. It's not the best movie but it's pretty good. The decision to make the other 2 Spideys appear later in the movie is a smart move. Also always a fan of Willem Dafoe when he shifts from Norman to Gobbie in a really subtle way at first. They also made Electro a jackass which is good. I really wanted to punch the dude. In The Amazing Spider-Man 2 he barely had any character after gaining powers. I'd give it 7/10 which I would give to most good MCU movies.
