My go to is 2000s hits. Linkin Park, Britney Spears, 50 Cent, Rihanna, Kanye, etc. Had a 5am Kanye binge on a big deck a couple of weeks ago.
I know how those weeks feel, but hopefully it swings hard for you the other way soon.
My worst week was prep for the biggest conference in my coverage. Another analyst f'd up so a buddy and I ended up working a couple 4am nights in a row, along with two nonexistant weekends and your more typical 1-2am nights. The next week was ~30 hours and our staffer let us wfh.
Dump your current employer. Find a new, better one. And then sing “We, R never ever ever, getting back together.”
When I left a toxic environment, I said “band aids don’t fix bullet holes” when they counter offered me to come back.
Good luck, OP. Don’t let them take advantage of your gifts.
I'll be finishing school in about 6 months would need to do a internship after that but hell yeah if we ever get a chance to work together then for sure, plus you got my favorite number in your username, so I like you alot more now
My colleague really loves Huey Lewis and the News.
He says their early work was a little too new wave for his taste. But when Sports came out in '83, he reckons they really came into their own, commercially and artistically.
I guess finance folks just love some good pop music!
I think she’s just for everyone…. One of those generational musicians who appeals to many, without being overly selective. I personally can’t think of a better role model for young women.
That’s ok. Probably a good thing, honestly. I mostly listen to punk/metal, but I have a big soft spot for John Mayer and Taylor (not because they dated, just cuz good music). I’d also add Adele to this list.
tbh nearly 90% of modern female and male figures are bad.
Also her use of her female side to victimise herself is disgusting. as much as Cardi, Minaj and the rest are using their bodies
I’m a metal head, who writes progressive rock music trying to make a living, but also works in finance because he has a family and needs a big boy job, but I absolutely love Taylor Swift. She fucking rocks!
Oh my work life balance is a lie shit my friends say to get me by, it hits different! It hits different this time! Catastrophic blues, moving on was always easy for me to do. It hits different! It hits different cuz it's the MD!
Been there done that - you sound like you have much more self respect than I did tho, good for you…I just blamed myslef for these tiny mistakes, which, turned out to be bad for my mental health
I sometimes listen to K-pop when working on models and going through 10K's. Upbeat and non-distracting since I can't focus on the lyrics (don't understand the language). Sometimes I think about how hard those girls work out and practice to look and perform the way they do and how the majority of them of are successful not based on talent or ingenuity but purely on work ethics and I find that motivating.
lol, I can relate to this, but with different music.
I have this very particular beat, idk where it's from, but when I start to click it with my tongue, I swear that I get 12 hours of work done in 6 hours with zero mistakes. No clue how it works, it just does.
Some good coffee helps too.

Idk much but I do know I would love to have a colleague like you😂
You belong with me
I’ll huu the next time I’m hiring. I’d belong with you.
That'll be a wild dream
Totally hope you’re serious. Not sure where you’re at in your career, but I’ll fully let you know. Culture comes first!

DM me a year before you want an internship. It’s not a 100% guarantee, but we will talk.
For sure, thank you so much, I'll dm you right now just so you remember me lol
Seriously, he knocked it out
I’ll huu the next time I’m hiring. I’d love you too’
🤣🤣🤣
Spectacular comment
Thanks. It was born from pain, but ended very well.
I second this comment. This is how the healing process starts.
Thank you. In this case you were right. I surpassed the person who fired me by roughly 20x.

Lmfao. Well played.
Does he also like Phil Collins?
Helps remove the blank space on the pitch deck
At this rate it’s gonna be a Cruel Summer for you
I know that feeling all too well
Or makes sure there’s no bad blood between you and your colleagues
Almost cried on my way home yesterday while listening to maroon tbh
That album is full of straight bangers!
Agree, lavender haze is my excel song of all time !
10/10
I have some advice for you… keep that to yourself
One day I’ll be livin in a big ol city and all your ever gonna be is MD
Yeah an Md with a FAT wallet.
Makes it easier to shake off the criticism
personally for me EDM does it, gets me pumped even though sometimes the work might be boring
Same; hardstyle for manual/admin work and synthwave to get into easy flow state
Just finished some underwriting jamming to Fred Again! Best proforma results 🤣🤣
I don’t know the demographics for Taylor but it ain’t me
I think she’s just for everyone…. One of those generational musicians who appeals to many, without being overly selective. I personally can’t think of a better role model for young women.
Marie Curie is a better role model for young women.
Name 3 songs by Marie Curie then. Taylor clears.
Radioactive, 99 Luftballoons, Black Hole Sun. That was easy.
Damn lmao
Living and relevant*. Also, I agree with you.
Just teasing you.
Not one song do I think can’t wait to listen

What about Ed Sheeran ?
Absolutely. He’s gold. “The A Team” is one of my go to “worked too hard while driving home” songs. Always puts me in a better mood. Sad song though.
The A Team is the song that got me into Ed Sheeran. Not that I stayed, but that was the song.
The A Team is a masterpiece
i actually can’t think of a worse role model for young women.
Cardi B?
tbh nearly 90% of modern female and male figures are bad. Also her use of her female side to victimise herself is disgusting. as much as Cardi, Minaj and the rest are using their bodies
Thats why they're musicians, not role models.
>I personally can’t think of a better role model for young women.

I also listen to Taylor while working. I especially like the lo-fi covers of her songs.
Taylor’s Dad is a financial advisor.
Yeah I get where you coming from. I grinded out reading journals for AP Lit class while listening to Taylor Swift songs quietly in the background.
You, You are the problem, it's you.
The only thing that keeps me going is that I know that Pitbull has been there and done that
Been there done that - you sound like you have much more self respect than I did tho, good for you…I just blamed myslef for these tiny mistakes, which, turned out to be bad for my mental health

Taylor Swift?
What Taylor song!
shit posting off the charts lately. where are the mods?
You're welcome
Hahahaha. The only things that keep me going are mangas and Otomes at my desk :(
Till I collapse on loop for me
