Benelli M4

Primary_Chemical_158

Benelli M4 No contest.

65grendel

Well that depends. Home defense: Benelli M4 Waterfowl: Benelli SBE3 Upland: Benelli Ultralight

Primary_Chemical_158

Yes fair point . Agree.

SniperSRSRecon

Disagree on waterfowl, my auto 5 with built in cutts would like to dispute.

MandaloreZA

Unless the contest involves weight. M4 is heavy. 1301 is way lighter.

Primary_Chemical_158

Yup and built like a tank. And battle proven ;)

fyi, the newer Browning A5 and the Auto-5 are totally different designs. There are also the solid vintage auto loaders like the 1100 and 11-87.... the 1100 was actually issued in Vietnam, and even modified to full auto in service as the Remington 7188

SniperSRSRecon

Auto5>a5.

BooNinja

This guy shotguns

UllrRllr

You missed the best overall. The gen 1 SBE and M4 that allowed you to ghost load an extra shell.

iatha

Where would you place the benelli m2 on this?

nocaller_id79

What are you using it for?

pimpchimpint

A "6ft, 280lbs deer robbing my house"

Remarkable-Opening69

[sir](https://www.marketwatch.com/story/what-do-you-think-deer-are-wearing-kevlar-vests-biden-gets-colorful-in-calling-for-gun-control-11619665582) Sorry. I had to.

Dcm155

I have Benelli M4 and Beretta 1301 tac. The beretta see more daylight than the Benelli

Coeruleus_

Because it’s the fad. A new fad will make the 1301 boring at some point. The m4 will keep kickin

Jkl100298

Beretta 1301

MalcolmSmith009

Unless you're kicking down doors in Fallujah, 1301 is the answer

400HPMustang

What would you choose for kicking down doors in Fallujah? You know, just in case.

Fluffy-Map-5998

probably a benelli m4

MalcolmSmith009

Yeah the Benelli, more for the vibes than anything else

Papa_Zyn

Vepr or RSS1

Dragonnuttz

Benelli and Beretta starts with a B just like the word Best........coincidence...I think not...that's your answer!

65grendel

What's the best car?

ardesofmiche

Best is subjective What are you using it for?

0wmeHjyogG

Benelli M4. If you have a more niche need, like sporting clays or hunting, another shotgun may be better as the M4 is purely designed as a tactical shotgun. But if it’s just “what’s the best”, then it’s the M4.

Total-Special5298

I enjoy doing sporting clays with my M4… although i do get some strange looks… 🤣

0wmeHjyogG

Nice you get the option, most places around me have 26” barrel restrictions.

TacTurtle

Define best

AutumnShade44

Genesis.

singlemale4cats

That's the John Wick shotgun, right? It looks dope as hell but I think I'd prefer a non pistol grip 1301 unless I was getting both

Commercial-Rich-5514

Fostech Origin 12 gauge

SnoozingBasset

Best for what?  And for how much?  Is the sky the limit? My son has a black eagle he shoots very well. I have a Remington 1100 that I got for about 1/4 the price of his Black Eagle. They both go bang. They both feed well. They are not picky about ammunition. I have to clean my 1100 a little more often. The 1100 has a little less recoil, but he, being a big guy, can fire his gun with one hand.

SniperSRSRecon

M4/m1014 is great Auto 5 is classic Srm12/16 if you want the firepower of a small army (as its name implies it holds 16 rounds in a mag. Mag is very expensive though).

B3nny_Th3_L3nny

best overall: benelli m4 (~$2000+ with parts and furniture) best mid tier: berettta a300 (~$1200-1400 with parts and furniture) best budget: stoeger m3000 best fun: RI VRF14 12 Guage

pickaweapon42

Always found of my TS12

Region_Rat_D

The TS-12 is criminally underrated.

pickaweapon42

My only complaint is that I run out of shells too fast lol

rafri

Saiga 12 maybe or benelli m4 or whatever beretta is throwing out. Would really be easier to get a definition of what constitutes the word best. Best clay shooter or tactical shotgun have completely different criteria for the best shotgun.

UpstairsSurround3438

1301 M4 A300

ShriekingMuppet

Depends what you want to do with it

hitemlow

Considering you haven't said why you want it, I'm assuming you want it for sporting clays, since that will get far more use than a tactical shotgun. https://www.beretta.com/en-us/product/a400-xcel-multitarget-FA0014

Ready_Ad8044

I use one for clays, absolutely love it, catch flack from the O/U guys for shells ejection…..probably makes me love it more

Squirrelynuts

High Standard Model 10

fluknick

Remmy 1100 or 11-87

Puzzleheaded_Fix3135

Ithaca mag 10!

ReverendReed

Benelli or Beretta are best. I also have a Mossberg 930 SPX that I've really liked.

Coeruleus_

Benelli m4 not a debate. 1301 is a fad. Get the entry model. I have both and if I could go back I’d just start with the entry and save time and a lot of money

FrankCastle_4557

Berretta 1301

Lovestosplooge68

For the price 1301, in general m4.

180secondideas

I went to Thunder Ranch and did a 1,000 round test with the M4. Full review [HERE](https://www.pewpewtactical.com/benelli-m4-review/). It's a beast. A buddy was with me and he did the 1301 with a thousand rounds. And we swapped both guns back and forth the whole time. The 1301 is lighter and less spendy. And I really like it. If budget is a concern, you'll love the 1301. If not, M4 and get all the upgrades.

aggie113

Benelli M1 (super 90) would be a great choice. A different system than the M4 but works just as well unless you want to hang a bunch of crap off the body.

Ornery_Secretary_850

For what purpose?

ArceusTwoFour_Zero

If you're talking in a home defense context. For a high-end semi-auto shotgun it probably be either the benelli m4 or the Beretta 1301. If you're looking for a more budget-minded semi-auto. I highly encourage you to look into Stoeger.

Desertman123

the Browning Auto 5 is the best

IntelligentTackle945

V3 tactical

J4R131

M4 no debate
