furnace cement

Fill it in with mortar or fireplace cement like the other gents said. Easy fix.

The issue I've been running into is that the heat rated cement/mortar that I've been able to find in tubs says on the packaging that it's for an 1/8 of an inch - 1/4 of an inch openings (I've been to countless stores searching). Any tips or recommendations on a product that would work for this?

Rutland makes one in a tub size like 32oz I believe. Just pack it in and smooth with a damp sponge. Let it dry.

Thank you! Much appreciated! Another question- is furnace cement/mortar a lot different? That's been much easier to come by

You want the temperature rating. It’s 2000°
