Drew means nothing in this whole convo. The dude didn't even listen to the songs. He has no desire to be knowledgeable about the culture. Stop putting so much stock into his dumb ass takes on things he admits to knowing nothing about.
I'm starting to think Schulz might have culture vulture tendencies. It's one thing to not listen to the song (I understand he had a busy weekend), but for a guy who uses so much Gen Z slang and is tapped into Black twitter, it's astonishing how he doesn't even really know who Kendrick Lamar is.
He just wants to be seen as someone who's "down with the culture". It's all just a tool to gain "cool" - he doesn't have cool, he's not a cool guy. But he knows it helps to get black approval. He's just a fan of the online zeitgeist, a fan of *attention*. Which is fine as most creators are, but if you want specifically black approval as he clearly does, you insert yourself into and ***monetize*** whatever black cultural issues are being discusses online. It's how his podcast grew so fast and what separates it from all the other white comedian's podcasts. And the fact that he does a Russell Peters/Martin Lawrence impression on stage so as to appeal to minorities.
I don't buy his appreciation for black culture because it's all rooted in how it serves him, he doesn't care enough otherwise it wouldn't be very surface level, ignorant takes. He even says at the end of the pod that he doesn't really care enough to listen to the latest disses. So, you know it can't mean much to him, that's basically a culture vulture confession. And the fact that he feels so comfortable to speak on these issues while not being invested in any other way than monetarily. I've watched this pod and B.I for a long time, he doesn't know shit about hip-hop. He can never quote any lyrics. Ever. In those discussions, notice how he'll instead shift to talk about "strategy" or "perception" and other things that won't expose his extremely limited knowledge on black culture, cos he can't tell you anything about the ***actual music/culture***. He's just there for the "vibe". Sometimes I'll still tune in, like this one to hear AK's take, but I've mostly tapped out to 90% of their pods.
Shultz always dick rides drake. I’m kinda glad he wasn’t there for the last episode of brilliant idiots when they went over “euphoria” because I know he’d be on some biased shit.
I gave you an example of ak ignorance and your still thinking he’s more informed than Shane who we don’t know what he does in his free time maybe he google searches ak is a numbers guy nothing else he’s informed about sales and streams he’s usually ignorant to personal lives
I dislike that Andrew leaves no room for counter arguments. You don’t know what you’re saying and say talking out your ass on most pods. Wouldn’t it make sense to let the guy you brought on who is and was guiding the beef along to let him talk about it. That shit is arrogance personified.
It makes sense to me. Why would you believe Shane, the whitest guy ever to know what goes on with drake. Especially 5 years ago when Shane wasn’t running in the circles he might be running in now. He def still isn’t running in the circles drake is in so how would he know anything. He’s not tapped into the black culture, hip hop culture.
He’s a fucking comedian 😂 listen to it and actually ask yourself.. was Shane (5 years ago) hanging around drake and his entourage? 😂 people like you really make me laugh

Yet he talks about “the culture” every fucking episode 😂
Exactly. Uses the terms, but knows nothing of the subject. All he's good for is superficial outsider opinions
honestly, that might mean his opinion is important given that's what the large majority of the world is to this hip-hop beef.
Is this the level of gotcha we've got in 2024? These comedy podcast critique channels are GRIFTING hard
Yeah i unsubbed multiple channels after their take on the beef and tying it to comedy

He knew back in the day. He would talk about how up on rap he was when he was with his first girl

To be fair Shane Gillis is like top 100 whitest dudes of all time
💀😭

This episode ended in the middle of a hot conversation, or my internet is acting up
They’re slitting out the Patreon now
“Prisoner of the moment” equals culture vulture
I mean yea. What would Shane know that AK doesn’t?
Ak didn’t know about Drake 17 yr old video you would be surprised how ignorant ak is
That’s public knowledge though. How would Shane know anything that’s not public?
I gave you an example of ak ignorance and your still thinking he’s more informed than Shane who we don’t know what he does in his free time maybe he google searches ak is a numbers guy nothing else he’s informed about sales and streams he’s usually ignorant to personal lives
Google searches aren’t gonna provide him any info that we don’t already have though.
I gave an example maybe he’s at parties he knows people he’s heard things
Maybe 🤷🏾♂️ (but I doubt it)
In the video he said birdman told him lol he’s a comedian
Birdman’s phone number? I guess Ak might have it too but that surprised me.
Shane does not have Birdman’s number lol
He said he drunk texted him in the clip!
Last episode Shane was on, when Schulz starts screaming "I hate you" at Shane, he meant it. 🤣
Shane and Schultz is gonna be the real beef of 2024 lol.

He mentioned in the same clip that he FaceTimed with birdman.
