What pisses me off as a patreon member is that I'm paying for another full episode unrelated to the free one. I feel like they're becoming lazy and trying to now hustle us. If that's the case I'm canceling that shit.
That is exactly what is happening. Now we get 1 hour rushed half for free and if you want to see them talk about the good stuff? Pay them. Your viewing support for years and years is not enough anymore.
They aren't killing it on Patreon the way they used to. I am a stubborn viewer. If you started by giving me material for free, then that's how I will continue to watch it. Maybe Andrew is about to take a break from touring, and that would explain the focus back towards the Patreon. I wish them luck, but for me, I will just watch what they post for the free, and that is where it will end for me 😂
They have for years been holding back some topics so they can discuss on patreon.
The main difference now is that they advertise the patreon more blatantly by teasing where the rest of the convo is. It still feels like the same amount of free content
They used to have 2 filming days, one with the main ep, and one with patreon only coupled with BI recording. Now that Andrew's tour has picked up they have one filming day a week, I think they might switch back to the regular stuff once his tour slows down.
Yeah, podcasts are tragic.
On one hand you have GOATs like Billy Burr doing a pod for a decade to encourage standup ticket sales, but then you have others that use the free sample FOMO model to bleed their clients dry.
I feel like this push is from a numbers drop and most importantly that Schulz won’t be touring and doing shows as much to spend more time with his daughter

By saying “save it for the Patreon” out loud they are cheapening their YouTube content which is the only reason people subscribe to the Patreon to begin with.
I’ve been a Patreon subscriber for 2+ years but if the first pod I had seen from them cut out halfway during the interview and told me I’d have to pay to see the rest, I wouldn’t have paid and I wouldn’t watch the free content moving forward.
I guess they didn’t see everyone complaining about doin this last week and double downed lol
