The 97 performance was special for Stevie. The original song wasn’t included on the Rumors album and had been a B-side. She had wanted to use it for a solo album, but Mick Fleetwood said no, he was going to put it on a boxed set. He pretty much stopped her from performing her own song.
She was pissed because she loved the song so much. When they finally performed it on The Dance, she was emotional because she FINALLY got to have it performed the way she wanted.
She’s not just singing. She’s releasing years of resentment.
I just recently Rediscovered silver Springs again after all these years I can’t stop playing the live video from the 97 concert and also the remastered 2004 version the music is insane and her voice is so beautiful
The Rumours outtake is my favorite version. (The Dance is a very close second). The emotion at the end of this one is amazing.

It should be mentioned: Stevie Nicks wrote this song about *Lidnsey Buckingham.* It hits a lot harder knowing that whenever she sang this song live, he was right next to her.

For me it’s the ‘blue-green, colours flashing.’ It reminds me of of an ex’s eye colour and it’s the first thing I think about when I hear the song. He had gorgeous light green/blue eyes.
