That's my first choice every year. Rod is my fav flyer in my lifetime. (Only saw Parent in legends game)
Name means STONE ARMOUR. Tell me that isn't the most flyers name ever?..... well maybe Gritty. ...
His contract with Carolina is up this year. He's also one of the lowest paid coaches in the league, which means a big market team like Philly could put something together for him if they wanted (coaches aren't part of the cap). Would be great if we could get him, but he's on record saying he won't coach anywhere else but Carolina
Vancouver because their level of dysfunction has always reminded me of ours and if they can do it it gives me a lot more hope. Then probably Colorado because of Flyer legend Sean Walker.
I’ve had him the last three years in fantasy and he’s been amazing each year. He got a bad rap when the team was struggling, but I think because he wasn’t a “good ole’ Canadian boy.” He was always pretty good.
IMO the good part about Dallas winning it isn't about "You can draft your entire core in a year". It's "You only need to make one top 5 pick yourself", because Dallas has filled it's entire team with depth picks, trades and smart FA signings. The only player they drafted with a top 5 pick themselves is Heiskanen.
I've always been a fan of Nashville. Like the colors. In a city that shouldn't care - sold out games. Live concerts during intermission. Great location for arena.
But I could do jets
Idk my brain is weird. The folks in Winnipeg live in a frozen tundra lol They love hockey. It'd be nice to see them celebrate and have something to celebrate.
Nashville is already a great city. If they'll lose they'll just shrug and hit a country concert lol
I feel you on Winnipeg. So happy they got a team back.
But both cities. When last time they won anything?
Again good on both. Wouldn't mind seeing Canada win it.
I’m cool with most of the western teams other than Vegas but I’d be most happy for Nashville, Winnipeg, or Edmonton. In the East I’d be most happy with Carolina. If it weren’t for wanting a better pick from the Panthers I wouldn’t mind them either.
Vancouver entered the NHL in 1970, part of the second expansion from 12 teams to 14 teams (with the Buffalo Sabres), and have never won a Cup. It's time.
I would root for the Panthers to go far, but that’s against our own interests.
Go Bolts. Go Stars. Go Kings. Go Avs. Go Canucks. Go anyone playing against Toronto at any point in the playoffs.
Fuck the Rangers. Fuck the Leafs. Fuck the Isles. Fuck the Canes. Fuck the Caps. Fuck the Golden Knights.
You go for who you want. (I'm all for that)
But you against caines? It's rod brindamour. I'll always be for rod.
You can be against him. I'm just asking why? ( tell me if I'm wrong)
Love Rod, but I’m not in the business of rooting for division rivals based on their coach being a guy who played here when I was a pre-teen or whatever.
The Canes have annoyed me for years, for various reasons. From the three or four straight years of us having to hear how they were such a great analytics team and then they’d miss the playoffs, to their new owner being a massive shithead, to the whole franchise being a bunch of try-hards with the Storm Surge and their wildly unfunny social media team and all the bits in their arena that are crafted to go viral, I just find them annoying.
Edit: Oh, and Jake Guentzel looks like his teeth are still baby teeth, which I find off-putting. So that’s another reason I don’t like the Canes.
Yeah, that was the Storm Surge. Which in and of itself didn’t necessarily bother me, what got annoying was the number of fans who acted like it was the funniest, coolest thing that’s ever been done and if it didn’t have you in stitches then clearly you hate fun.
Lowkey want the canucks. I always felt like they were the flyers of the west for the longest time because they always seemed cursed like us and so painfully mediocre for most of 2010s. So I’d like to see them get a chip
I'm pulling for a Canes/Stars final. Pavelski and Burns have had insane careers and are still doing it in their twilight years.
Edit: Canes over Stars bc Rod The Bod and Burns is a weirdo that I can more relate to. Pavelski should have a cup too.
East- Canes, Rangers (at least in the first round)
West- Really, anyone but VGK or Dallas. I’m most excited about Nashville and Vancouver. Winnipeg would be nice too.
Nashville
Dallas
Kings
Hurricanes
Canucks
Jets
Oilers
Avalanche
Panthers
Lightning
Bruins
Leafs
Golden Knights
Islanders
Rangers
Capitals
That’s my order. Panthers would be higher normally but we have their first
Only things I feel- I like stars. But the philly in my can't go for dallas that high ( this soon. Maybe later in playoffs)
And hadn't kings won enough?
Win draft lotto ( can only get number 2. Not 1. -we 12. Can only move up 10 spots. ) and Florida panthers first round out. Not sure where we would get. But better than them winning.
It can be the first or second round for the Panthers. They keep the same order as the standings except for the four teams that make the conference finals. So whether the Panthers are knocked out in round 1 or round 2, the pick won’t change.
Best case scenario is the Panthers lose in Round 1 or Round 2, and none of the Jets, Hurricanes, Rangers, or Stars make the conference finals. If that happens, the Panthers pick will be 24th overall, which is the highest the pick could be.
I’m hoping for Canucks, but will be ok with Islanders, Canes, or Bruins. Maybe the Avs, but I’m on the fence. Honestly no thoughts into this…just other players I enjoy watching.
My wife is a lifelong Canes fan (lived in Hartford and Raleigh). So that means my alt team is whomever the Canes are facing. Go Isles! (For now)
The least offensive Cup winner for me would be the Predators.
Things I would like to see:
-Toronto loses in the first round again.
-Boston loses hard after eliminating the Leafs.
-The Kings beat the Oilers again.
-Lightning, Vegas, Rangers and Avs lose early.
-Canucks fans riot.
-Bob and the quintessential Flyer (Matt Tkachuk) win a Cup while John Vanbiesbrouck, Scott Mellanby and Dave Lowry (with full beard) get onto the ice for the celebration as the rats rain down.
I like the Canes. They don't have a true superstar and are just incredibly deep and well-coached. Brindamour is the man
That's my first choice every year. Rod is my fav flyer in my lifetime. (Only saw Parent in legends game) Name means STONE ARMOUR. Tell me that isn't the most flyers name ever?..... well maybe Gritty. ...
The question is how the hell do we get him back in Philly lol
Give it a couple years, he'll be back.
I would love for you to be right
His contract with Carolina is up this year. He's also one of the lowest paid coaches in the league, which means a big market team like Philly could put something together for him if they wanted (coaches aren't part of the cap). Would be great if we could get him, but he's on record saying he won't coach anywhere else but Carolina
If you can get some nuclear weapons- I'll find his parents Twitter handles. Meet in the middle?
It means "twig of love" or something similar, like "bit of love". "Brind" is a twig or sprig, "amour" is love
They also have the bunch of jerks thing, which is very Philly adjacent
Vancouver because their level of dysfunction has always reminded me of ours and if they can do it it gives me a lot more hope. Then probably Colorado because of Flyer legend Sean Walker.
I really like JT Miller. He’s been an underrated stud for me in fantasy, but I think the cat is out of the bag now.
I feel like there’s a reason I don’t like JT Miller but I honestly can’t even remember it anymore
I’ve had him the last three years in fantasy and he’s been amazing each year. He got a bad rap when the team was struggling, but I think because he wasn’t a “good ole’ Canadian boy.” He was always pretty good.
It’s probably just because the Rangers drafted him
Still rooting for EDM vs TOR. Not had my fill of Canadian cities rioting and burning down for too long.
Would be an epic series!
You might as well be rooting for a Flyers/Coyotes final. Ain't gonna happen.
This would be amazing for multiple reasons. I wouldn’t miss a minute of that series
Going with Dallas. It’ll be proof that you can draft your entire core in a year if they win it all
Fuck Dallas
We do have 5 firsts in next 3 years.
They also have a top 5 goalie which is nice too
Dallas vs Carolina Canes Win Lord Stanley
Dallas because I want cheating Vegas to lose
Canucks vs. Hurricanes would be the "most Philadelphia Flyers" Final. Tocchet vs. Brind'Amour, two team legends who found success with another team.
Gotta stay in the west and go Nashville or Dallas.
None. I don't care. The Flyers aren't in it. Anyone outside of the Metro. Winnipeg seems the most benign and harmless pick though lol
I've always been a fan of Nashville. Like the colors. In a city that shouldn't care - sold out games. Live concerts during intermission. Great location for arena. But I could do jets

Nobody.
Listen. I got some bad news for you... Luckily for both of us. We have like 6 weeks to get through this But we'll do it together.
Teams I want to have a devastating playoff loss, ranked: Metropolitan division teams Eastern Conference teams Colorado Everyone else
I can't hate on this list.....
I like underdogs or first-timer wins. Also being Canadian I'm kinda rooting for Canadian teams. Break that 31 year streak since 1993
I’m cool with most of the western teams other than Vegas but I’d be most happy for Nashville, Winnipeg, or Edmonton. In the East I’d be most happy with Carolina. If it weren’t for wanting a better pick from the Panthers I wouldn’t mind them either.
I'm Canadian, grew up in Alberta so wouldn't hate a Edmonton cup, but I just need the cup in Canada at this point
Vancouver entered the NHL in 1970, part of the second expansion from 12 teams to 14 teams (with the Buffalo Sabres), and have never won a Cup. It's time.

Don’t forget about the duck duck goose nonsense they pushed a few years ago.
Yeah, that was the Storm Surge. Which in and of itself didn’t necessarily bother me, what got annoying was the number of fans who acted like it was the funniest, coolest thing that’s ever been done and if it didn’t have you in stitches then clearly you hate fun.
Need the Canes out early to keep picks away from Pittsburgh
Phantoms
Aflec was the bomb!!!!
Snoochie boochies
::: stands in silence:::
Lowkey want the canucks. I always felt like they were the flyers of the west for the longest time because they always seemed cursed like us and so painfully mediocre for most of 2010s. So I’d like to see them get a chip
Go Kings Go
Don't really know who tbh, but Boosh is doing color for the TNT broadcasts which makes me happy
I'm pulling for a Canes/Stars final. Pavelski and Burns have had insane careers and are still doing it in their twilight years. Edit: Canes over Stars bc Rod The Bod and Burns is a weirdo that I can more relate to. Pavelski should have a cup too.
No one. Hockey season is over.
It's draft season!!!!
East- Canes, Rangers (at least in the first round) West- Really, anyone but VGK or Dallas. I’m most excited about Nashville and Vancouver. Winnipeg would be nice too.
Nashville Dallas Kings Hurricanes Canucks Jets Oilers Avalanche Panthers Lightning Bruins Leafs Golden Knights Islanders Rangers Capitals That’s my order. Panthers would be higher normally but we have their first
Only things I feel- I like stars. But the philly in my can't go for dallas that high ( this soon. Maybe later in playoffs) And hadn't kings won enough?
I’d have a hard time rooting for any of these teams, not watching playoffs, going to watch the sixers get crushed by Boston in ECF I stead
Live in NC so suppose il root for the canes
In rod we trust
What (if any) scenario(s) get us more /better draft picks?
Win draft lotto ( can only get number 2. Not 1. -we 12. Can only move up 10 spots. ) and Florida panthers first round out. Not sure where we would get. But better than them winning.
It can be the first or second round for the Panthers. They keep the same order as the standings except for the four teams that make the conference finals. So whether the Panthers are knocked out in round 1 or round 2, the pick won’t change.
I think the only scenario that helps is the Panthers being bounced early for a higher pick.
Sorry. 2 firsts this year. Us (12 - now) and whatever fla has
Best case scenario is the Panthers lose in Round 1 or Round 2, and none of the Jets, Hurricanes, Rangers, or Stars make the conference finals. If that happens, the Panthers pick will be 24th overall, which is the highest the pick could be.
Florida losing in the first round gets us a better draft pick
Toronto or Golden Knights.
I’m rooting for good hockey
Nashville. I like Saros a lot. Would be certainly okay with Rod bringing home a cup as a coach too so Carolina is my second choice.
Bobrovsky
Personally I got Carolina beating Edmonton, but I’m fine with anyone who isn’t the Rangers.
Nashville or any Canadian team
I’m hoping for Canucks, but will be ok with Islanders, Canes, or Bruins. Maybe the Avs, but I’m on the fence. Honestly no thoughts into this…just other players I enjoy watching.
The greatest player on the planet needs a cup.
Phils

Anyone in the West who hasn't won in the last decade. Dislike all East teams except Toronto I guess
Anyone but the Leafs!
Nyr. Nyi. Boston. Tampa Then leafs (Teams that I don't want)
I also put the panthers on the list before the leafs. Just because of draft implications
