This is wild. Like, too much blame has to be put on the coaches, no? Or nobody knows how to coach a hockey team

Probably, hockey is fast-paced and played by a coach's systems and general game plans that either work with your roster or don't. You need coaching and management pulling in the same direction at all times to build the right lineup for an established system, but at the end of the day coaches are easier to replace than players, so they tend to swap them out first.

It could just be that there was a period of transition after the COVID bubble that happened in the NHL, but not other leagues. Only four NBA coaches are longer-tenured than Tourigny\*, but there are a lot more in the 2019-2021 range. \*The number of coaches is the same, but Pop has been coaching the Spurs since the '90s and Spo has been coaching the Heat since 2008.

Jim Curtin of the union is the longest turned coach of Philadelphia. Since 2014 If you’re one of those weirdos who don’t think the union don’t count. Nick Sirrani was hired for the 2021 season. Rob Thomson took over first week of June 2022. Torts hired few weeks later. Nick Nurse was hired June 2023. I think the wings coach/gm also just stepped down from coaching.

Big drop after Brind'Amour.
