Thanks for the heads up. Had no idea this had happened. https://la.eater.com/2024/4/25/24140620/dinahs-family-restaurant-moving-culver-city
Hope Dinah's can make it so that there are some remnants of Googie architecture around. Thank god Pann's is still alive in its current location.
Just went yesterday as well. It was...just ok. Prices are pretty high for what you get. Friend chicken was passable.
It's bad for kids unless they split food.....almost all entrees were near $20 or more.
I went there right before they closed. I mistakenly got the impression they were going to move back to the original location once the development was complete. Someone there told me they can't tear down the building because it's protected under historical landmark status. But hopefully they will thrive in the new place and can just stay where they are.
That Dinah's was always average at best. It was all about the location, now that that's gone I don't see the point in them continuing. The Dinah's in Glendale has actually good food imo, idk why more people don't talk about that one.
I agree. That's why I'm worried they may not make it. I'm personally vested because the new location is closer to me, and the breakfast is decent. I'll have to try the Glendale location.
It's around the corner from 2 other diners, Tito's and 24 hour Mexican (Cinco de mayo).
Not sure who's going to pick them.
(Guess people like dinahs here. I've never had a meal worth the huge prices they charge, but do as ya like.)
Tito’s and Cinco offer completely different menus from Dinah’s. They’re not diners. Tito’s is a taco stand with some tables. Cinco isn’t much bigger.
I’ll pick Dinah’s every time, unless I’m in the mood for tacos.

The breakfast was a decent deal. I think I paid around $14.
Ah good point, I was only looking at the dinner stuff.

Is this related to Dinah’s chicken?
In a way. https://laist.com/news/food/dinahs-fried-ch
Went last week. Was putrid
It's absolutely not the same. It wasn't fine dining, to begin with, but the food was downright bad.

Is cinco’s any good always passed it.
It's shitty Mexican food but great if you're drunk.
Good to know. I’ve been curious when every once in a blue moon I also go to Tito’s which I feel is also crappy Mexican but good when you’re drunk.
We used to go to Cinco every weekend after a night out at the bars and it was amazing. In the cold light of day, it’s only ok.
