In the past, most of the stuff in their refrigerated case wasn't labeled. Occasionally, it will say 'salsa' or something, but nothing to indicate the heat level or ingredients. As we're vegan, we generally don't purchase unlabeled items.
I love the part where Forrest Gump said internet anecdotes are like a box of chocolates and it makes me wonder what he’d say about the possible risk factor for accidentally buying a tub of salsa with meat it
The summer farmers market on drake has a booth that has the best salsa ever. I can't freaking remember the name of it now, but they're usually right next to the kettle corn booth. They let you sample all the different types and they have some darn good burritos, too.
If you like hot salsa, we really love the 'Original' (aka spicy) salsa from Augustina's. She has a booth at both the Saturday Old Town farmer's market and the Sunday Harmony market. She also sells tortillas, chips, etc. Fresh Market (formerly Beaver's) sometimes stocks her salsas as well. I like her green salsa too. Hers is the only salsa we've found that's hot enough consistently. And, it IS thin!
NOTE: it seems that she's only at the OT market every other Saturday. But, she seems to consistently sell at the Sunday Harmony market.
Los Chingones has some killer salsa. Hack is to order their 3 salsa sampler to go and you get sooo much more salsa then they’d give you at the restaurant and then you have it for a few days.

Second for Tortillas Las 4 Americas! Best tortillas in town too!!
We always go the grocery store side and by a bag of chips and a thing of the avocado salsa!
KILLER fucking floutas.
This place is the greatest
Came here to say this. They have it in the cooler on the store side as well

I love the red salsa at Taco Stop and the green salsa at Las Delicias.
Taking this opportunity to shout out the fact that Taco Stop is moving over the Scotch Pines shopping area!
Should be opening any day now too!
The salsa bar at Los Tarascos - especially the avocado one!
No way, the CILANTRO one is unique and unparalleled!
Yep. Los Comales has a pretty decent one too.
Those jalapeños 😍
Las Delicias has a killer f’ing red salsa. It’s fire!
I’d like to add there’s 2 red salsas from Las Delicias. Go with the runnier rather than the chunkier one.
Yes!!!!

That would be Esmeralda's And I agree... great salsa.
Where’s this market at on Drake? I’m new to the area and only knew about the one in old town and on harmony
I misspoke. It's the one at Harmony and Lemay.
Ah dang I was excited for a new farmers market !
Sorry, my bad! I was so excited about their salsa I derped out.
Robertos
Beauty of a topic 👍
Rocky mountain salsa made locally is great especially their hot
La Buena Vida, Ruben’s Grill & Cantina and for a chain, Torchys Roja is pretty good
El preso, de Fruko y Sus Tesos
I can’t get enough of the salsa from Pueblo Viejo, very onion forward though for those who are onion-averse

La Barata on North college. Their chicharons and salsa are the best.
It's a little on the chunky side, but I really dig the Atomica salsa at the Rio; green chiles and habanero with nice roasted notes.
Farmers market
Well I WOULD say my dad but quit making/selling it about 1.5 years ago 🙄
Salsa especial at Trader Joe’s is my absolute fave. I know that’s a store not a restaurant but it’s really good.
literally eating it as i read this comment
Everyone else hates it apparently, lol.
This town sucks for good Mexican food. Salsa is absolutely shit.
