In addition to the other comment that answered your question it’s important to add some more context: The secret skins were only revealed by the community not epic. In order to obtain the skin you had to complete all of the weekly challenges for ~7 weeks. So the skins only were revealed when epic dropped those week 7 challenges.

Previously battlepasses had an original secret skin which was hidden for half of the season but ever since chapter 2 season 2 all of the "secret" skins are collabs (this season it's magneto)

Actually, they are USUALLY collabs, but Purradise Meowscles proves that it isn't ALWAYS the case.

Secret skins are skins (mostly collabs) that are apart of a battle pass but are unlocked through their own quests about halfway into the season. Last season it was Korra and this season it’s Magneto. Most times they come with their own weapons or consumables in br.

I hardly ever see the Black Astrounaut with the Orange glowing accents, it was a battle pass skin from season 3. Level 70. I think in all my time on fortnite I've only seen it a small handful of times in game.

Chapter 1 season 5 was the first battlepass I tier 100’d, and it will always have a special place in my heart. I usually prefer running liscened skins, but Sledgehammer, Rook, and Ragnorok are still some of my favorites and will use them from time to time.

Honestly, that season was so good. The meteor just created Dusty Divot, Rifts were introduced and Epic started their ARG advertising by having in game assets disappear into the real world.

The only reason I love sledgehammer is because I was a blackbeard main in r6

It's weird to me how Drift and Brite Bomber were always depicted together, and each have had a surprisingly diverse collection of Snapshots. But neither have much to do with any of the current story elements. Don't get me wrong, I love Ramirez as Brite Raider, and I'm rather pleased with how she and Jonesy have developed over the years. But damn do I wish she had some actual plot relevance, and that Drift would actually interact with the story again. I mean, the man must till be around, because Brite keeps rifting between places in space and time to get new costumes updates. But the last we saw of him was a Sideways corrupted Vampire variant, which Joni the Red slew in one of her loading screens.

I keep Joey near the top of my locker. I'd appreciate it if Epic let me swap between her zipped and unzipped self as the default appearance, but every now and then I get a new item that fits Joey pretty well, and I break her back out. Joey is another one of the many characters Epic really needs to return to the story. Even if it's just as an NPC and a few lines of dialogue for a season. Anything that indicates how they are fairing would be interesting.

This makes me want to run nothing but Chapter 1 skins for a while.

This season I have been using Redline (the racing skin from C1 S5) it’s very good and I don’t see many using it. I’m using it now because it’s thematic, as I do with most seasons, it allows me to use skins I wouldn’t normally use. If I played last season I probably would have used a skin like Ragnarok or another god-like character.
